Uline pausing construction on new facility due to economy

Wow, who could ever predicted that the economy would suffer uncertainty under the leadership Liz Uihlein supports so strongly? Hope she’s happy!

Protesters here seem extreme

there are always people protesting stuff here. Anything from big businesses to LGB stuff. That's fine, i get it, some things suck here. My issue comes when they compare first world problems to the holocaust. Why do they do this? Why so extreme? Thanks.

Hey Wisconsin friends: I live in Kenosha. I love camping and nature, but I’ve barely been outside in the past month because I’ve been working a ton. My only time outside in the past month has been to walk the dogs along the lakefront.

Today when I was putting my hair up, I found this tick on my neck. Ugh. Gross. Creepy. Ugh.

I share this as a reminder to us all: check yourself for ticks if you go outside. Check your dogs. Use the anti-tick treatments on your dogs. Check your kids.

Ticks! Ugh. Disgusting and dangerous.

Hidden gem destinations within driving distance from Kenosha?

Hi everyone. My husband will be turning 40 in June- I’m looking into small getaways and/or unique experiences we can do to surprise him.

We have 2 kids, so if it’s a multiple night thing, they would come with. So, open to family-friendly but also adult type things to do if just for the day or 1 night.

Somewhere to relax, pool to swim, foodie/beer/spirits experiences. He’s into music and outdoors- hiking/camping etc.

Okay I know this is all pretty broad range of things, but I’m wanting to hear of interesting places we may have never been before. Not sure which direction to even start looking, so all ideas are appreciated!

Edit to add: I’m born and raised here in Kenosha so a part of me feels like I’ve seen it all already within the state and surrounding areas. You guys have great suggestions already, just looking to see if something I’ve never heard of comes up!

Question for new folks who have moved here.

I’m curious as to why so many new folks are moving here rn. Kenosha has recently been featured in Realtor.com as one of the hottest markets in the U.S. What first made you notice Kenosha and then when you researched moving here what were attracted to? Did you visit first and scope it out? What was the draw?

We moved from Chicago and really desire a strong neighborhood community. We live near Roosevelt elementary.

I guess I’m asking if you received a few cookies and a note introducing your neighbors, how would you feel, and what information would you want on the note?

I also am looking for high school kids who might like to babysit for some money here and there. Would it be weird to ask about that in the note?

Hi guys. I moved from New Mexico to WI in October, and since then I’ve been violently ill 3 different times. Once in November, in January and now. It includes lots of vomiting and decongestant, and usually takes several days to completely recover. My question is if anyone else has experienced this and any ways to avoid it? (Other than the obvious flu shot, hand washing, etc.)

Looking for honest feedback here from people who attended day 1 at the new location for the Kenosha Public Market (different org than Kenosha Harbor Market, Harbor Market is is still in it's original location)

There were quite a few concerns raised by the folks who live in the neighborhood near Kemper before the Market had it's opening day on May 2.

Now that it has had an opportunity to be open, I'm looking to find out how the actual experience of having the market at thst location turned out.

Was it as disruptive as expected? Was it well attended? Did it turn out to be wonderful despite negative assumptions?

Or just tell me about something awesome you bought there.

The issue of the Public Market at Kemper is, no doubt, going to come before county committees and boards, and I'd like to have perspective driven by the experiences of the people who actually attended or were affected by the new location.

Rehoming

I'm looking into rehoming a dog. Does anyone know a reputable place or person that I can rest easy knowing that he's well taken care of? I don't care the fee as long as he's safe and happy. He's a 4 year old 20lb mini schnauzer. His owner, my aunt who I was living with, died a year ago and I've tried to keep him but I don't think I can anymore.
