Such great stories and acting and I would have LOVED to see the story go on. It's such a gem of a show.

I used Julia’s custard recipe. I added caramelized onion, extra black pepper, kosher salt, thyme and nutmeg. Like several other of her quiche recipes, this does not contain cheese. This is a 9-inch quiche. I used 3 whole eggs and 1 3/4 cup of heavy cream. The crust is my own recipe.
The ramps are ethically harvested from a farmer’s property. They sell to one buyer.
Happy spring cooking and baking!
Question About Julia's Dad.
I can't remember what PBS show it was.
Maybe "The American Experience." But it was on Julia's Biography, and it mentioned when Julia met Paul, her dad for whatever reason wasn't fond of him. Her mom died when Julia was in her teens according to the episode. Don't remember after all these years what the reason was.
Interestingly long after that, a lady posted on the PBS message boards, this was before FB and the others existed, who lived in a neighboring town of Pasadena said as a teen in the 50's, Her mom introduced a friend of hers who just happened to have been Julia and was told she was a good cook and helped them making a certain type of cookies.
Can't remember the brand but it wasn't till at least 10 years or so down the road saw her friend's mom and realized she met someone who was now famous. Met her before she was.
I asked her if she knew anything about Julia's background and thought her father may have felt she married out of her class and also mentioned she and her mom had to go to Julia's childhood home that very day because she rarely visited home.
So do we know if Julia and her dad ever made peace with each other or if Mr. McWilliams ever appreciated his daughter's fame if he lived long enough to see it?
