Charvel/Jackson 80s colors. Should they return?

Charvel/Jackson 80s colors. Should they return?

I think these would look great on Dinky and Soloist guitars. There is a burgundy mist (the pink one) model in current Charvel lineup though but with white pickup bobbins and maple neck it looks different.

Attic find

Hi all,

I've lived in my house for 5 years and had never been in the attic until this weekend. Weird, I know.

I found 2 guitar bags amongst the mountain of paint cans, one of which is this.

I do not play guitar and have less than zero knowledge about anything guitar related. I could not be more clueless.

What is it exactly? Obviously I can see its a PS4, but is that the only thing I need to know? And, rather more importantly for myself, what's it worth? I'm in the UK.

Thanks!

Edit: Jackson plate on the back reads 1013276, forgot to attach that one.

RR1 turned a bit yellow

This is a comparison photo of my Jackson Custom Shop Select Soloist on the right and the RR1 on the left. Both guitars were purchased at the beginning of 2025, have never been exposed to direct sunlight, and were never kept in a smoking environment.

The RR1 has gradually turned slightly yellow and now has more of a vanilla/cream finish, while the Soloist has remained the original Snow White color.

I actually think the aged look is pretty cool, but I was surprised that it happened so quickly — and a little sad that the Soloist stayed the exact same bright white color.

What do you think?

NGD. limited edition Kelly Diablo IV

One of 300 made worldwide. Finally scored a neck thru hardtail Kelly. Been looking for one of those for entirely too long

I heard we’re posting DXMG Dinkys now

I posted about this one a while back asking if it’s legit DXMG and it was verified. Follow up is that I ended up picking it up about 3 weeks ago.

Should I buy a js22-7

I'm looking forward to buying my first ever jackson, but I don't wanna risk spending too much as it's my first, if I like it I might mod a bit or buy a better 7 string..

Is there a way to get rid of this sound

I think it's from the middle spring but I don't see it interfering with anything?

Jackson pro plus

Hey guys! I was going to buy a Jackson pro plus model and a lot of people telling me not to since there's been a lot of QC issues with them and was wondering if they're still bad?

I'm kinda worried about getting a new guitar since I'm spending around £1200 on it and really just want it to be perfect out of the box essentially I don't mind if I needed setup since I can do hardtail stuff and I usually get a setup done for a floyd by the local tech.

Pretty much I just want some clarification if there's till bad QC issues or if they've gotten better and if not what are some alternatives?

MM1 pickups- Jackson Juggernauts.

Hello guys! What are your thoughts on the Jackson MM1 Pickups, usually found on Juggernaut guitars? There is not much information on them around.

Specially the 6 string version.

For those of you that have been able to swap them for the original BKP Juggernauts (pickups), how do they compare to the MM1? Is there a really noticeable difference improvement?

What other pickups do you like on the Juggernauts for 6 string?

I recently got mine, after having a 7 string for a bit over a year, and I am still debating on wether to swap them for a pair of Ragnaroks I have in another guitar, keep the MM1, or look for something different.

What are your experiencies/advise?

Replacing a FR Special with a FR 1009, locking nut replaced?

I’m thinking to upgrade the stock Floyd Rose Special for a Floyd Rose 1000, but I wonder if I can just swap out the bridge part and keep the stock locking nut? Or does the FR 1000 need its own accompanying locking nut due to string radius difference?
My guitar is a 2021 Jackson Xseries Adrian Smith, it’s a 12”-16” compound radius neck. I’m not sure if the stock locking nut is uniquely specific to that neck and model of Jackson and needs to remain if upgrading the bridge, or if the Floyd Rose 1000 has a different radius profile than the original FR Special bridge and requires a nut replacement too?

King V pot shaft length

I’m looking to upgrade the pickups on my king V! Got it a while back and I’m looking to give it some more bite, I’m thinking of emg 81/85’s but I’m not sure what shaft length they use. Does anyone know OR have recommendations on what pickups sound good for thrash. Thanks!

I knew I needed one being a lifelong charvel guy and mutt builder. I think it’ll fit in nicely with the pack. I’m loving the pickups, tight and crisp.

Jackson dinky bengal question

I am considering trading my Gibson Les Paul for this Jackson Dinky a long with a Brandon Ellis Jackson Kelly. Just wondering if any one has any information on the model, year, where it was made, etc. and if it’s legit prior to the trade, and maybe a rough price estimate. Mostly just trying to figure out if jts MiJ and real.

Thanks for any help — I’m pretty uninformed on Jackson guitars.

Sharing the DXMG love

Best £390 I ever spent. Came with a really nice flight case too. Had it for over 5 years and love it just as much as the day it arrived.

So I just got a beautiful Pro Plus Soloist SLA2, in gloss black. It is the most comfortable guitar I have ever played, but like every guitar made outside US or Japan, it comes a little "unpolished".

2 very minor finish defects which I am okay with because the way the guitar feels kinda makes me ignore them.

Sharp fret ends, I tested 3 guitars in the 1400 dollars range (an LTD Deluxe, Strandberg and this Jackson, all made in Indonesia) and they all come with pretty sharp fret ends. Again I can go past this because this doesn't affect playability. Problem is all of them have Stainless Steel frets which is a pretty hard material to sand down, I don't have the tools to polish the frets yet.

But the biggest problem I have which makes me want to return the guitar is, the fretboard is not perfectly even, in the 12-17 fret area there are some higher/lower frets, there aren't big differences between the fret height, but enough to make it buzz when I set the action at the high E lower than 1.50mm(it is around 1.20mm now, I can deal with the buzz but I wish I could achieve the 1mm action). Now despite all this, the guitar is very comfortable and easy to play even at this current set up, it's just the "I wish this 1400 dollars guitar could achieve the 1mm low action"

So yeah, it makes me want to, either return the guitar and order the same model again with the hopes that this one comes with a more even fretboard?

Or save double the ammount of money and get an American Series, which makes me think, is it really worth double the price to pay just to have a guitar with perfectly polished frets and perfect straight fretboard?

I am not familiar with the quality standards that Jackson has with their guitars, at this price range, so that's why I am asking here.

Used Jackson Kelly

Picked this thing up at a local used music store for $399.. This thing absolutely shreds for half the price of a typical KEX!

This guitar is awesome.

So, I bought this one on a whim a few years ago. Js22 dka. I think it was like $160 at the time, on sale, after using a website's rewards program. It was listed at ~$200. The only "upgrade" that I've done to it is change the tuners to locking. I play mostly metal, and this thing RIPS. There's 5 other guitars in my office that are technically "better" on paper. But this is my favorite.
