Replacing a FR Special with a FR 1009, locking nut replaced?
I’m thinking to upgrade the stock Floyd Rose Special for a Floyd Rose 1000, but I wonder if I can just swap out the bridge part and keep the stock locking nut? Or does the FR 1000 need its own accompanying locking nut due to string radius difference?
My guitar is a 2021 Jackson Xseries Adrian Smith, it’s a 12”-16” compound radius neck. I’m not sure if the stock locking nut is uniquely specific to that neck and model of Jackson and needs to remain if upgrading the bridge, or if the Floyd Rose 1000 has a different radius profile than the original FR Special bridge and requires a nut replacement too?
