URGENT Advice : should i go for bs standalone as i don't think doing bba will do any good to me and is there someone who wants to live together with me who's doing this degree?

Hello : urgent advice please reply : i was planning to give cuet for bba from tier 2 universities like bbau/lu/hbtu !! but the problem is they aren't very powerful by themself in the sense that i may want to do job before going for cat and mba !! and my interest in tech is driving me towards the bs degree but my parents say that managing both is not possible and feasable so choose 1 !! i'm willing to choose bs but the fact that it's online haunts me !! should i go for it standalone ? i may aim for job or mtech or mba later !! my maths is bit average but i'm really interested in tech !! is dropping a tier 2 university bba worth for this ? i need urgent advice from people already doing it !! also to avoid isolation and loneliness and have peers like college...i want to have 1 or more people who are already doing this degree so that we can be roommates(we'll decide the location for pg probably metro cities delhi lucknow etc for exposure and interships) but he should be doing it confidently not to drop out of it !! bba ain't attracting my interest and i want to stand on my feet do something...get financially independent etc !!

Need advice on whether I should pursue IITM bs degree in data science

Hello everyone, I'm a 19 year old who took a drop last year to prepare for jee but ended up doing worse than the year before, i qualified for jee advanced last year so I'm eligible for direct admission if I'm correct, but tbh i'm in a difficult position, my parents are hellbent on making me attend a college offline as well, I'm not sure because I kinda messed up my state entrance exam for engineering colleges due to health issues, so I'm not too sure about it, I'm not sure whether I should a local college or not while pursuing this degree, I'm very confused about all that but I'm quite interested in data science and am ready to invest myself id appreciate if you all could share any tips or things I need to know beforehand , i also want to know where exactly I should expect from this degree throughout all years and any opportunities as well as what I should expect after completing this degree from placements, packages to further studies I'd appreciate it if you could let me know what I'm getting myself into as my seniors

im thinking about joining the IIT Madras BS in Data Science program and wanted a realistic idea of what a normal day looks like.

your daily routine ...

rough hours you spend studying/doing coursework

your level (Foundation / Diploma / Degree)

whether you’re doing it standalone or dual degree

also how does your routine changes during exams

im trying to decide between the IIT Madras BS in Data Science and the BITS Pilani online BSc Cs..

some specific things I want honest opinions on:

which one has a better peer group and community?

are there actual societies or is it mostly isolated studying?

how do the two compare in terms of difficulty and dropout rate?

How are they perceived for internships/jobs?

does the BITS online degree feel disconnected compared to IITM BS?

if someone has done either of these, what are the biggest pros/cons you didn’t expect?

also, I’m someone who wants to build skills (coding/IT) but also wants some level of interaction/community, not just a fully isolated online degree. I also have to get some work done at home and help my father in his stuff

Would you recommend one over the other and why?

IITM BS degree other resources

I’ve heard in the IIT Madras BS degree that video lectures can be really long and boring. A lot of people seem to use other resources alongside.

....What resources do you actually use at each level

Foundation Diploma Degree..

....Which YouTube channels, books, websites, or courses helped you the most?

...Are there any good student communities, Discord/Telegram groups worth joining?

....Which subjects are manageable with official lectures only, and which ones almost require external resources?

Exam pattern of The program

Can someone please explain the exact exam structure of the IITM BS in Data Science program in detail?

I already understand how end-sem exams are conducted, but I’m still confused about

OPPEs ...like how many times they are conducted and their difficulty

what is the pattern of the quizzes and also their difficulty

Bsaically, what does a normal term actually look like from a student’s perspective? How many exams/quizzes happen per course and how stressful is the schedule realistically?

Hi so im 19f, I was initially a dropper for neet 2026, the exam did not go well. It was my own fault cause during the last month I ended up overthinking more than actually studying. So here I am, most of the windows have closed, I was feeling like a failure with no future and lost but I recently came across this course.

I don't know if I wanna pursue an actual physical degree with this but I am interested in this one, should I pursue it?(pcmb student)

I might also take the neet exam again next year so this might actually be helpful and belonging from an extremely middle class family, the career scopes are really vast(as I read online) but i need real opinions, if I should pursue it or not? Is it worth it? Or should I opt for something else?

Any advise would be appreciated, thank you!

There are so many talented students and even working professionals… but we barely discover or connect with each other.

It’s surprisingly hard to find people with similar interests or skills, even though everyone is just a few clicks away.

And then there’s the usual question every week:
“Bhai, what resource are you using for this course?”
Too many links, too many opinions, no clear answer.

So We IIT M BS Students built an app

The idea is simple:

  • Discover people based on skills/interests
  • Connect via social links and collaborate
  • Share and rank resources
  • Find opportunities/updates in one place

It’s restricted to IITM BS students (domain-based), so profiles feel more authentic.

lost for what to do after registration

It has been weeks now since I submitted my documents and processed my payment but my qualifier courses haven't started yet, i have received no announcement nothing. I asked the support staff via ticket about this two weeks ago and they told me to just wait. Can someone please tell me what to do?

(This isn't my main degree, I'll start my offline college in August, I just wanted to pursue this to the diploma level because of a mixture of curiosity and and because it complements my primary degree)

Hey everyone! I'm a dropper currently researching the IITM BS online degree as a potential alongside option while I wait for JoSAA/JAC counselling results.

Would love to hear from anyone who's currently enrolled in the program, how's the actual workload, are the in-person exams manageable, and is it genuinely doable alongside a regular college degree?

If you're a current student, please DM me! Would really appreciate some honest insights before I commit. 🙏

(Also open to anyone who dropped out or exited at diploma level, your experience matters too)
