Convince me For/Against this re: 1k mi roadtrip

Ok here's the scenario and I wanted to put it up to the hive mind, we have a road trip(Tampa, FL to Myrtle Beach, SC) with the kids. The Prologue AWD we own is in better shape, and has more convenience features for our trip (with the exception of Supercruise like our van). Cost estimates with getting a Tesla Adapter are about 60$ cheaper with the EV at 4.75/gal, but charging time adds about 1.5hr to our trip. Leaving at 1300 this would put me in Myrtle about midnight-sh or 2200 with our van. Never gone this distance before, using ABRP and google maps I should be able to do this on 2 with a top up 3rd stop. With the van it'd be about the same amount of stops.

Would you do this? Or no? I'm leaning towards yes, but the unknown is getting me. I do have a Tesla adapter I bought off Amazon for 80$ but have only used once on our previous EV.

Edit: This is mostly Flat Terrain, but with AC usage I was being relatively conservative with adding a 3rd stop. I set Cruise at 76mph, and draft truckers when possible. I'm 90% sure doing this due to the age/condition of my other vehicle, not too mention the cost savings without using the Tesla Adapter over fuel costs :-)

I bought my prologue used 1 year ago and still don’t have HondaLink access

I bought my prologue used a year ago and have been constantly going back and forth between HondaLink and Onstar trying to resolve this. Long story short, the original owner of the car didn’t disconnect themselves from the apps and nobody I speak to both on the Honda and GM side has been able to resolve this even a year later. I have never been able to utilize any of the app features.

Has anyone else been in this situation and how were you able to finally resolve it?

Good start to summer!

Leased vehicle and free charging at work, so why not 100% :)

Winter was crazy at an average of 280-285 mile range at 100% charge.

Honda App does not work

I want to see my charging condition and other info of the car and the app takes forever to load. When it does load, the display info is not even correct. Has anyone found a way to fix it?

Not a huge fan ELITE

I’ve had this car since October 2024 and it currently has 27K. I used to love it but i feel for 60K it is poorly made. I can’t stand the clicking when I’m turning the wheel. I’ve gone in once and they replaced the axles but here we are again. Then the cruise control wants to work when it feels like it. Getting rid of those car can’t come fast enough. My lease ends next year and the depreciation on these cards are WILD so i have to ride it out.

Best option for my scratched car

Hi all, I accidentally scratched my leased Prologue. The body shop wanted $4000+ for the repair. My lease is going to end and I want to return the car. My insurance has $500 deductible. What are the options do I have?

Should I repair the car using my insurance before return the car? Or should I return the car directly and let the dealer negotiate with my insurance for the repair? Are there any other options?

Clicking sound coming from rear passenger (below seat)

2024 Honda prologue AWD with 6k miles. Noise started just over a week ago. I took it to the dealer last week to look into it while they did the recall update. I was told they couldn't figure it out and wanted to take the backseats out, basically if they were to take the backseat out and found something that may have fallen in there and is rattling around it'd cost me about $1200. If it's an issue with the vehicle it'd be covered under warranty.

So I want to make sure as close to 100% before I agree to having them take the backseat apart. Those with the dreaded axle clicking sound does it sound like this? I noticed it happens during a shift in weight in the car, for example when I turn/lean left in the back it'll click to the right and I won't hear it until I turn/lean right and it'll click left. This is all in the back passenger side so when I say click left and click right, it almost sounds like something getting flipped like a switch. It also happens when I accelerate or decelerate. It also doesn't take much as you can see in the steering wheel to make the sound.

I stuck my phone down the back of the seat to video record and didn't see anything that may have fallen down in there.

Just got the call (CV joint/axle repair)

I don’t have any more details yet but I got a message from my local dealer today saying Honda of America has a fix for the clicky front CV joints/axles. Anyone else gotten word yet or know what this fix entails?

They estimated the fix will take a day (we’ll see!), so eHonda is going under the knife in a week (Fri 5/15)

This is after I scheduled an appointment to have them replaced (about 6 months ago) and then had my service appointment and “fix” rescinded when HoA apparently changed course. Fingers crossed it’s the real deal this time!

Deal opionion

I wanted to get the group's opinion on a deal I'm working currently. It's for a new 26 Honda prologue touring all-wheel drive with the optional paint. Dealer is currently giving in 35k out the door all taxes, titles and fees included. Do we think this is a good deal or should I try for more?

Joined the club!

My Chevy Blazer EV lease expired. I loved that car even with the quirks. I’ve had 7 Honda brand cars (Acura too) so when I saw the Prologue being essentially the same car, I knew it would be my next lease. I got the Touring FWD

Negotiations on lease residuals?

Is Honda Financial likely to authorize dealers to heavily negotiate on these lease residuals? I have a 2025 Elite & the car is already almost only worth the residual of $25k & I’m barely 1 year into the lease 😳 why would I pay $25k for the car at the end of the lease when it’ll probably only be worth like $16k? Honda is going to be taking some serious losses here when these leases start to expire. I probably won’t buy mine anyways even if they negotiate & give a good deal but woah.

Registration fees

I'm coming upon my first year with the Prologue, and the tags are due for renewal next month. I have a 3year lease, and the vehicle's registration is stating $1213.70, which seems like an insane amount for something that I'm not financing.

I know EVs can bring with it increased registration fees, but this is higher than it was when I had my Tesla, and I was financing that car.

Has anyone else experienced incredibly high registration costs for their Prologue? My lease is through Honda financial.

I think you guys will like it

It has:

Common presets for certain music (Classical, Rock, Pop, EDM, Jazz) with Atmos-level sound quality

The ability to save 3 custom presets

Effects (studio, concert hall, auditorium)

The eq graph adjustment only works when parked (to comply with google driver distraction guidelines)

Presets remain clickable while driving

It is already miles better than the Infiniti app that isn’t available anymore for non-nissan/infiniti cars

It is mostly optimized for Blazer/ Equinox EV use, but can be used on the HummerEV/Polestar/Volvo/Mazda/Honda/ + Other AAOS cars.

I plan to publish it to the play store by the end of May, if everything goes well.

The lease is for 36 months with $5,000 down and $349 per month before taxes.

I read that Honda is offering a $3,500 conquest for the prologue. The dealer gave $2,000. There's no $500 military discount applied yet. Also, I'm 100% disabled veteran in CA so the DMV registration fees should be waived.

Is there a way I can get the dealer to give an extra dealer discount? So far the discounts have from the government and manufacturer.

Thanks!

Debating on getting one !

Hi I’m debating if to pick up a prologue because from the first time I seen it I loved how it looked just to throw me off by being fully electric but some time has passed and I noticed a nearby public charging station about 5-10 away from me, what are the pros and cons of owning one so far from everyone’s experience and also the different model types please let me know if there is any major differences to look into , my lease for my 24 civic will be up in sept and really considering to get one. My main thing tho is the charging time? How long does it take to charge up on a public charger, I’m from NYC and don’t have the ability to get a at home charger so public charging would be my only option, how’s the maintenance on the car ? And if you don’t mind what’s a close estimate that you pay monthly for one ?

Serious Design Flaw - Key Fob

I leased a 2025 Touring model and love the car to date. But today I experienced a pretty crazy situation. I golfed, and afterwards, I opened the lift gate and put my clubs in, forgetting my fob was in the bag. The lift gate opened since I had the fob right next to it, but then after I closed it, it did not recognize it. I hadn’t yet unlocked the car so I locked myself out. Tried 100 times to open the lift gate again and it would not open. Fortunately the course is only 5 min from home and my wife was home so she rode over with the other fob and opened the car, but WTF? That’s crazy and it would be sooo easy to do somewhere very far from home. Like key in backpack in a remote area. I really am dumbfounded. Seems like a serious safety issue.
