Convince me For/Against this re: 1k mi roadtrip
Ok here's the scenario and I wanted to put it up to the hive mind, we have a road trip(Tampa, FL to Myrtle Beach, SC) with the kids. The Prologue AWD we own is in better shape, and has more convenience features for our trip (with the exception of Supercruise like our van). Cost estimates with getting a Tesla Adapter are about 60$ cheaper with the EV at 4.75/gal, but charging time adds about 1.5hr to our trip. Leaving at 1300 this would put me in Myrtle about midnight-sh or 2200 with our van. Never gone this distance before, using ABRP and google maps I should be able to do this on 2 with a top up 3rd stop. With the van it'd be about the same amount of stops.
Would you do this? Or no? I'm leaning towards yes, but the unknown is getting me. I do have a Tesla adapter I bought off Amazon for 80$ but have only used once on our previous EV.
Edit: This is mostly Flat Terrain, but with AC usage I was being relatively conservative with adding a 3rd stop. I set Cruise at 76mph, and draft truckers when possible. I'm 90% sure doing this due to the age/condition of my other vehicle, not too mention the cost savings without using the Tesla Adapter over fuel costs :-)
