New to the game and quite lost

Hi, I'm new to the Hermès game and I've read a lot here and on Purse Bop. I have to say I've done everything wrong. I've bought a lot, around €40,000 worth, at the Monaco store, but with different sales women, and different accounts, me and my husband, and now I see it's only we have to work with one.

I just want a Kelly or Birkin 30, gold-and-gold one, or a box leather bag in black.

My husband and I live in Miami and used to go to the Design District, but the salespeople there are very unfriendly.

That's why, now that we've been to Monaco and are still here for all the car events, we'd like to see if we have the bag I want. I didn't know this was a game; it's making me anxious, to be honest. We also travel to Paris a lot, and I wanted to know if they can see my Monaco purchases? Since they are different countries and finally offer me the bag...

In Mónaco finally they offered me a horrible handbag that cost 9,000 euros and more, one that looks like a dumpling, my husband almost bought it just to make me happy. And it made me want to cry. I saw the most amazing bags I ever seen in that store, metallic ones, croc etc etc, also if you can help me how can I get a metallic bag?

On the other hand, I'm so happy with my husband, who loves me so much and won't give up until he gets that bag. I'm afraid it won't happen. We went to Chanel, and he bought me a beautiful bag, a Classic Flap, and several other things, and all the staff treated us incredibly well.

The rumors of a new country wide wishlist program starting in the US are true and begins May 1st (tomorrow)! Not much is known about how it will work yet (I'm not even sure the stores really know) so let's discuss what you've heard so far!

Hermes US Wishlist System to roll out this week?

My SA told me this week that U.S. boutiques are supposedly moving to a more formal wishlist system starting this week. From what she explained, clients would only be able to request one bag with up to three color combo options, and the current two bag per year limit would still stay the same.

She said the main difference is that wishlist requests would now be attached to a client’s actual profile and visible to any Hermes employee instead of just living in private SA notes. Supposedly this would help stores keep track of clients waiting for specific combinations when inventory comes in, and maybe even help management see who’s waiting for what before making allocations. I’m curious if anyone else has heard more about this or if people think it’ll actually change much in reality. My first thought was that it could mainly help clients who don’t shop super frequently or aren’t always top of mind for their SA.

Miami FL Offers and Prespends

Please share your experience with getting a quota bag at the Miami Florida Design District Hermes store. Helpful information includes: which bag you got, how long the offer took since your prior quota bag purchase, how much you spent with the store since your last quota bag purchase (non bag or SLGs), how long you’ve been a client, and month/year of offer.

Is the Matte Alligator Birkin difficult to get?

I recently bought a Matte Alligator B30 in Beton with GHW from a trusted Asian reseller, and I am absolutely in love with it. I never thought I would want more than one exotic bag, but now I’m completely obsessed.

How difficult is it to be offered a Matte Alligator B30 in a neutral color directly from the boutique? Is this typically reserved for VIP clients, or is it something a regular client can realistically achieve with a good purchase history? Also, what is the retail price for one in 2026?

Has anyone seen the new color - Guimauve, with permabrass or gold hardware? I do believe GHW will be avoided by Hermes for this color, but I have a slight hope for Permabrass…. Has anyone seen it?
Feel free to share pictures in the comment if you got a bag in Guimauve, I have a small crush on the color 😍

Picture for attention - not mine, found on google

I flew to paris this week just to get my kelly danse and she is finally here! I’ve been chasing this bag for over three years and she is finally mine. However, it did not give me the joy i anticipated.

I dont know if i was put off by my SA who i’ve already shopped with over a year spending in each visit over 2.5:1 ratio for any bag he offers me. The danse is the third offer from him and i thought that we are past the push to spend as we have already an established relationship. I arrived in paris for the day and let him know that im specifically here to get the bag. I was already at 1.5:1 prespend of shopping for the danse however he kept pushing for more where i ended up spending at almost 3:1 for the danse. Dont get me wrong i love all the things i bought but felt that the relationship is very transactional and did not feel appreciated as a client. I’ve heard anecdotes of so many people just being offered bags after established relationships with barely any prespend.

Another issue was the color: its in etoupe with ghw. Dont get me wrong the color is gorgeous and i love the contrast stitching but it just feels basic… i really didnt have a specific color in mind.. maybe rouge h, prunoir or vert mangrove.. something more niche and unique. However my SA did make a fair point: with etoupe its timeless and classic and its a color i will still love and wear 10 years from now unlike seasonal colors.

My two questions:

Is etoupe really basic and nothing unique? Like every other hermes bag…

Why am i not feeling the euphoria i expected when its been a bag ive literally dreamt of for years! Anyone felt the same after a bag offer?

Just got the email with the official closing date of Hermes at selfridges London. Any other selfridges shoppers feeling sad about this? Truly an end of an era. What I loved about shopping H at selfridges was that it was easy to browse around without having to go “in” a store and I of course loved accumulating selfridges VSP points while shopping H! Really hope the new flagship “Maison” boutique is fabulous! Has anyone received an official invitation for the new store opening on Bond Street?

Just dropped my Bolide 31 at Hermes to go to the spa.

The zipper jammed and it was ready for a cleaning!

Now I wait.

I did buy a bolide messenger in barenia and it smells so fantastic and is crazy functional!

These locations do not carry bags, especially quota bags. They are very upfront about that but try to lure in clients by promising bags at the full store opening event. This is not a guarantee, or even very likely given they tell the same message to literally every client they have. Store opening events don’t carry the bag inventory that they famously did precovid. When there were fewer pop up locations and a much longer time until the full store opening, SAs were somewhat able to take qualified clients to the Madison store for quota bags. Now that there are so many pop ups, they can no longer do this, especially within the same calendar year as the store is allegedly opening. Also, most openings get delayed by at least a year so you could be strung along for years before getting a bag. Save yourself the trouble and start your relationship at Madison instead. It will always have better inventory and better access anyway!
