Full Croc, Touch, or Togo B30 in Gris Perle to pair with my new watch?

I recently bought an Hermes watch with a pearl grey croc strap and now I’m tempted to pair it with a Birkin 30 in a similar color and texture. I've never really considered a croc bag, but why not?

I’m torn between going full croc, getting a “touch” Birkin (for a bit more durability), or keeping it simple and just getting Togo with RGHW. My watch is RG.

If I go with either full croc or touch, I wonder if going resale is the better route. A full croc B30 in pristine condition is about 38k, touch would be about 33k. I understand that a full croc retail is about 50k. I don't mind pre-loved at all. I have a few trusted resellers who I have successfully purchased from, so if I can save some money on a bag which will not be used on a daily basis, I'm all for it.

My watch is stunning, and I love the idea of tying in some croc without overdoing it.

What would you choose? Full croc, touch, or Togo? Would you go resale or buy from the store?

The pics of the bags are for reference only.

Do Airport Boutique Purchases Get Linked to Your Profile?

I shopped at two airport boutiques and bought a Garden Party at each location, one in Paris and one in Hong Kong. In Paris, the sales associate didn’t ask for my information or try to pull up my profile. She simply rang up the items without linking them to my French profile and mentioned that it doesn’t matter, as they don’t typically do that.

In Hong Kong, the sales associate only asked for my phone number. I’m not sure whether she actually pulled up my profile or not. She also asked for my boarding pass, and that was it.

Are airport boutique purchases supposed to be linked to your profile in that country, or does it really not matter like the associate in Paris suggested?

Solo trip to Japan for vintage Hermes hunting… worth it?

Thinking about doing a solo trip to Japan purely to hunt for vintage and unique Hermes pieces… curious if anyone here has done something similar.

I’d probably start in Tokyo and then take the Shinkansen to Osaka and Kyoto, focusing on curated resale and vintage shops. I already have a list of places I want to visit, so this would be a pretty intentional “hunting” trip.

For context, I have a great relationship with my SA in the U.S. and also shop in Paris where I also have an amazing SA, so this isn’t about access. I think I’m just drawn to the idea of finding unique or hard to find pieces. The hunt sounds pretty exciting to me.

I’ve done solo women travel before typically with Girls’ Guide to the World, but I’ve never really seen trips centered around luxury vintage shopping in Japan. It feels like such a specific niche, but maybe it’s more common than I think.

Would love to hear if anyone here has done it or thought about it.
