At my wits end with my hair 💔

Hello everyone!

I don’t know what to do with hair anymore.

- I have fine hair, air dries in 20 tops

- I don’t know if it looks healthy or not. I rarely straighten all of it, just the front section

- two different hair types. Curly roots, very curly at the back, mildly curly front.

- these are my curls 1 month post keratin treatment. Didn’t like the tight curls, they made my hair look very short.

- moved to a very humid place and can’t seem to get nice curls anymore, it’s always frizzy.

I admit that:

- I don’t take care of it. I use Touché sulfate-free shampoo and no conditioner whatsoever.

- I let it air dry and then put on a serum to open the curls and hydrate (?) them a little bit.

- I use satin scrunchies and a satin pillowcase.

- I hate the curly front of my hair and I end up straightening it because it’s too short to style (went through some breakage a few months ago.) so it’s a kind of loop where I want to avoid straightening but end up doing it because otherwise the strands spike up my head and it’s impossible to style 😫

I would love to:

- a routine that works for people with fine blond hair.

- maybe a shampoo , conditioner and some products that give nice curls and keep the frizz at a minimum.

Thank you 🤍💔

I grew my hair out, but I miss this old cut… should I go back to it?

I used to have this haircut a while ago and now my hair has grown a lot. I’m trying to decide if I should go back to that style or keep growing it. I feel like the shorter cut gave me more shape, but I’m not sure if it suits me better than long hair. What do you think?

Hair is greasy, dry, frizzy, flaky, and stringy at the same time — nothing works

I’ve been dealing with this for a while and nothing I try works, so I’m hoping someone can actually explain what’s going on. My hair looks completely normal when it’s wet — smooth, clumped, no frizz — but as soon as it dries it turns frizzy, puffy, stringy, and kind of dry/straw-like. At the same time, my scalp can be both greasy and flaky, which makes no sense. The flakes are mostly small and white, sometimes slightly bigger, not very greasy.

Hair type/details: I have medium-length wavy hair (around 2–4 inches), pretty thick/dense, with a natural wave pattern. When wet, it forms small clumps easily, but when dry those clumps break apart into thinner pieces and lose shape. The ends feel dry while the roots can get oily. My hair overall just feels inconsistent and “off.”

Routine: I shampoo about once a week, and my hair usually feels pretty stripped after. I condition the ends. I’ve tried no product, minimal product, and heavier products (leave-ins, creams, oils), plus air drying and diffusing. I’ve also tried leaving it completely alone and also restyling with water — everything ends up looking basically the same. I’ve used Nizoral (ketoconazole) and it didn’t help.

The main thing is: my hair looks good when wet but completely loses control when dry. I’m trying to understand what could cause greasy scalp + flakes + dry/frizzy/stringy hair all at once. Is this more of a scalp issue, or something with how my hair holds moisture?

Not really looking for random product recommendations — just want to understand what’s actually going on.

Finally nailed my perfect routine

After years of trying on different hair colors and being so faithful to a bob. I finally landed on my perfect hair color and length. Also washing and styling routine. Finally found a stylist who gives me the perfect color and highlights. I am so happy.

Want to know how to take care of my hair!

Been growing it out for the first time and I feel like I don’t know anyone with my kind of texture. Maybe it’s just too short still to tell. It seems thick, dense, and naturally very dry and frizzy. I’ve been conditioning it every day and even with that I’ll go to barbers and they won’t believe me when I say I conditioned it that morning. It seems naturally wavy too. Any ideas/advice?

How do I make my fine hair poofier?

Ive been tryna do scene hair for ages and every time I always straighten, blow-dry, brush thru, spray with hairspray, and tease, and it always flattens or looks thin like this. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do? What would you recommend to volumise my hair or just make it look properly scene? Thanks

Growing out hair + general advice.

So I am lost when it comes to having longer hair, I know this isn’t super long but all my life I have more or less had buzz cuts.

My main issue is that I feel like my hair just looks bad and I was wondering if any barbers, hair stylist, or hair gurus have any advice for my hair type or what could possibly look good for me.

I appreciate any and all advice!

My hair is always dry :/

I just got a trim a month ago to get rid of all the split ends, so I don’t think it’s that. For some reason my hair is always dry or looks untamed. I wash it every other day and use a hair mask weekly.

I think my hair is 1B? I’m at a loss :(

Grease Build-up vs thinning

Asking for my boyfriend since he doesnt use reddit.

My boyfriend (25m) has very greasy hair, at this point he has to wash it once a day. He uses a clarifying shampoo once a week which helps a bit but it doesn't decrease how often he has to wash. Now he has started to expereince some thinning, and i suspect it is at least partially due to overwashing. Does anyone know where tha balance is between fighting greasy hair without accelerating hair loss? Any reccomondations are appreciated!

Finally found something that’s helping my dandruff

Hey everyone,

I’ve been dealing with really bad dry scalp and dandruff lately. It got to the point where I had visible flakes, chunks, and tiny white dots all over my hair which was honestly frustrating.

I went to the pharmacy and they recommended Ducray Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and told me to use it every other day for two weeks.

I’ve been following that routine and I’m actually really happy with the results so far!!! It’s not completely gone but it’s a huge improvement.

It is pretty expensive for a 100ml bottle, but at this point I really can’t complain since it’s working. 🥰

My daughters hair, in need of advice/product/style recommendations

Whenever I look at the hair chart I’m not sure which type her hair is. I’ve tried a lot of different leave in curl cream. My favorite is probably aunt Jackie’s curl la la. (That’s not in her hair right now). I braid her hair a lot which keeps it untangled. Her hair gets knotty extremely easily. Does her hair look acceptable in these ponies? I have thin, white people hair and she’s mixed. I want to do better at doing her hair. Also a good clarifying shampoo which be nice because I think she has product buildup in her hair. Right now I’m pretty broke so cheap products are preferred.

Choosing between Schwarzkopf hair mousse 3 and 5

Exactly what it says in the title. I'm pretty sure I have 2a/2b fine wavy hair. It's also low-porosity as far as I can tell. I usally struggle with frizz, root volume, split-ends and definition. My hair isn't very dense either. My hair is also quite dry. With all of these on mind, which hair mousse do you think would work better for me - Taft 3 or Taft 5? I tried to find out the difference between both the products but there was no information :(

For additional reference, I am going to pair it with the Moxie curl cream. I also use the Loreal Professionel anti-frizz hair mask. I don't heat-style or diffuse my hair.

Routine: I usually oil and braid my hair three hours before the wash. I shampoo twice, apply hair mask and scrunch it in. I wash it off after 15 or so minutes. I then put in leave-in conditioner and curl cream in my damp hair. I rake it through and then scrunch it in. I wanna remove the conditioner and use mousse instead.

Thank you

Looking for an affordable permanent or longer‑lasting straightening cream (longer than Kativa 12‑week)

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a hair straightening cream that is permanent or lasts much longer than the Kativa Keratin Treatment, which only lasts about 12 weeks. I want something that can keep my hair straight for many months.

My hair is wavy, frizzy, and pretty dry. I’ve used relaxers before, and now I want something that makes my hair really straight, smooth, and sleek. I found some very cheap straightening creams on AliExpress, but I’m not sure if they actually work or if they’re safe. If anyone has tried them, I’d really appreciate your reviews.

These are the products I found from the images:

Hoegoa 3 Seconds Straight Hair Cream

EELHOE Straight Protein Correcting Hair Straightening Cream

JAYSUING Smoothing Blowout Cream

Keratin Hair Straightening Cream (Protein Correcting)

SEVICH Hair Straightening Cream

EELHOE Protein Correction Hair Cream

EELHOE Supple Straight

I’m specifically looking for something affordable, long‑lasting, and strong enough to use at home, so I’d love to know if any of these are actually effective.

Advice required, I'm 14

I'm 14, I have very fine hair left on my head(literally you can count)... because of stress and school, I did my thyroid tests and everything... it says normal. I went to a homeopathy doctor for treatment and he suggested natural things like shikakai and everything to clean my hair and some meds.... but the thing is my hair doesn't get cleaned with all the natural stuff so I wanted to use a clarifying shampoo once a week (in a budget), I have been seeing pantene's Good review... should I go for it or not?

15M PREMATURE GREYING OF HAIRS , DEFICIENCY DRIVEN?

Hi, I’m a 15-year-old male with premature greying since age 13–13.5 (currently ~30–50 strands, mostly top/crown). Recently noticed slowing and around 7–8 hairs showing darker roots/turning black with supplements.

🧪 Blood Results

  • Vitamin D: 8.49 ng/mL (severely low)
  • Vitamin B12: 272 pg/mL (borderline low)
  • Ferritin: 45.9 ng/mL (low for hair)
  • TSH, T3, T4: Normal
  • CBC: Mostly normal (MCV/MCH slightly low)

💊 Supplements & Treatment

  • Currently:
    • Melitane topical (Altris-5)
    • MOM-XL (Zinc, Copper, antioxidants)
    • Vitamin B12 supplement
  • Previously:
    • Biotin (3 months)

❓ Questions

  1. Are these deficiencies enough to explain early greying?
  2. Is this reversible at my stage?
  3. Should I still test Copper/Zinc/Folate? 4.Is there a doc or someone who can help me here

Looking for informed advice, especially from dermatologists. Thanks!

Could this be frontal fibrosing alopecia? :(

I always thought it was probably just natural thinning paired with a huge forehead making it look obvious. I always had a kinda pointed hairline but I used to have more baby hairs there and dark hair. I also had quite thick eyebrows and now they are much sparser even tho I never overpluck and a patch closer to my nose looks like significantly sparser than the rest even though it doesn’t show on these pictures. I’ve used spf from early 20s which is now know to be linked to this. I think that has always been very gradually so not something I noticed much, but when I was early twenties my hair was much fuller. overall my hair has thinned a lot since then but it’s thinned all over my head too and it’s stick considered thick in general. but my moms been diagnosed with FFA so now and I can have a paler patch around my hairlines and I’m wondering did my hairline used to be lower down but I can’t recall. I’m 32 btw
