Hiiii! I took the HESI @9am this morning & got a 93% cumulative 😸😸 I’ve been in this sub for a while & just wanna share what was on my test!

A&p 100% - DEFINITELY use the quizlets going around it was my exact test

Math 86% - know proportions, percentages, ratios, fractions , I feel like I had a fair amount of conversations mostly being fluid ounces & that’s what really got me 😭 & two military time questions!

Critical thinking 850- honestly just go with your gut, I felt like most of them you’d definitely need nursing background & was kinda harder than the quizlets I’d been using but just trust your first instinct 💕

HESI tomorrow

I’m taking the test tomorrow at 10am ! I’m taking a&p, math, reading, vocab, and grammar! I think I’m prepared since I’ve been studying since the end of February and all through out March and April but I’m still nervous! I can definitely say I will probably make something like 88% or higher!

HESI RESULTS

Hi everyone! I took my HESI this morning and got a 96% cumulative score :D I just want to share what I did to study for the exam. I studied for about a month, but I only really locked in the last week because I had so many other exams. I used both Nursehub and Quizlet to study and they really helped a lot! For Nursehub, I retook the timed practice exams again and again until I got 98-100 on all of them.

A&P 100% - DEFINITELY study the Quizlet that’s been going around. I took like five minutes on this section because it was exactly the same as the Quizlet. I recommend Nursehub and looking through other Quizlets for this too, just in case you get different questions.
For my exam, it was this exact Quizlet
https://quizlet.com/1146709892/hesi-a2-anatomy-flash-cards/?i=1dwdnq&x=1jqY

Math 94% - I mainly used Nursehub for this. I took the timed practice tests and went over any sections that I missed. I only used Quizlet for the word problems and conversions. DEFINITELY know your conversions because my exam had a lot of these. I also had a couple of military time, a lot of proportions, and simple calculations. A lot of my word problems were from this Quizlet
https://quizlet.com/713625593/hesi-a2-math-word-problems-flash-cards/?i=1dwdnq&x=1jqY

Reading Comprehension 94% - I read the passages that I found on Quizlet to get an idea of what each passage is about. I also glimpsed through the answers, but because some answers are wrong, I didn’t spend a lot of time studying them. This was really helpful because I didn’t have to spend a lot of time reading the passages when I took my exam. I had a lot of passages from this Quizlet
https://quizlet.com/1151677526/hesi-a2-reading-comprehension-flash-cards/?i=1dwdnq&x=1jqY

Grammar 96% - I used both Nursehub and Quizlet for this. Nursehub helped me a lot in understanding the structures and rules but Quizlet had a lot of word for word questions. I had a lot of questions from this Quizlet
https://quizlet.com/1152061842/hesi-grammar-share-flash-cards/?i=1dwdnq&x=1jqY

Vocab 96% - I also used both Nursehub and Quizlet for this. I overstudied this section because I wasn’t sure what words would be on the exam, but it ended up being simple words. My exam had a lot of questions/words from this Quizlet
https://quizlet.com/1065562184/hesi-vocab-2-hesi-a2-vocab-flash-cards/?i=1dwdnq&x=1jqY

I hope this was helpful! :D

Well, here I am again. I just took the HESI for the second time at BMCC, and I scored 97% (first time I scored 92% and didn’t get in). My GPA is 3.55, so honestly I’m not hopeful about getting into the program.

Someone got into the program with similar score/GPA? Someone took the exam today? How was it?

Math HESI

I take the HESI in a few weeks & wanted to know which math quizlet is the most accurate. I’m testing in A&P, CT, Math, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension. I already have the A&P quizlet, but if anybody would like to share any other quizlet for the other subjects, please do.

HESI RESULTS!

I just took the Hesi. I got a cumulative 95.33

A&P 100
Grammar 100
Reading 86
Critical thinking 950

Anatomy:

Pretty much what’s been going around.

https://quizlet.com/1067200738/hesi-a2-anatomy-mine-flash-cards/?i=5j86zz&x=1jqY

Reading:

Was mostly all of these + more. I would look at more Quizlets, but mostly all of these were on it.

https://quizlet.com/911379195/hesi-reading-comprehension-flash-cards/?i=5j86zz&x=1jqY

Critical thinking:

https://quizlet.com/1172917913/hesi-nursing-critical-thinking-2021-2022-flash-cards/?i=5j86zz&x=1jqY

Grammar:

I didn’t really use a Quizlet for grammar. I’d also be careful because the ones I did see had errors. Know the difference between lay and lie, their/there/they’re, basic punctuations, verbs, subject verb agreement, she’s/shes, to/too/two, past and present tense.

Grammar was pretty straight forward.

Passed with 99.2

Hi all! Ive been a long time lurker on this sub reading about everyone's success stories, and wanted to share my experience with the hesi. I took my test today and walked away with a cumulative score of 99.2 in reading, a and p, vocab, grammar, and math. I studied on and off for about 5 months because my program's average acceptance scores for the hesi sat between 93-95 percent. There is absolutely no need to study for as long as I did. I just needed to get a high enough score for my program of interest.

As a whole, the test was way easier than I was expecting. Im going to honest here, I can't help out too much with the quizlets for the sections other than a&p because I personally found them containing too many errors and questions that did not make sense. Personally, I did not want to chance my score on that. Instead, I used nursehub, and (it's bad, I know) asked chatgpt and Gemini to give me mock hesi quizzes. I found that combination to be perfect for me.

AP (100): The ap quizlet going around on here was indeed accurate to the test, but I did get a couple of random questions that weren't on the quizlet. You do not need to go as in-depth as nursehub does.

Math (100): Math, as a lot of people have said, is heavy in proportions, fractions, and ratios, so if you know how to do those, you're golden. A couple of military times showed up on mine, but no roman numerals. Nursehub is a great resource for math. I did not use quizlet for this section.

Grammar (98): I found nursehub super helpful for brushing up on grammar rules, too. I can not stress enough how important it is to actually understand grammar rules as I felt that alone helped me get a high score. I used chatgpt to help me understand the nitty gritty of the rules and when they are/ aren't applicable. I did not get any affect/effect, but got a lot of they're/their/there, who/whom, which word is correct/incorrect, and then/than. Quizlet was not helpful for me on this subject.

Vocab (100): vocab consisted of very basic words (imply, illusion, hallucination, etc) with nothing overly obscure. I honestly felt I over-studied for this section. I only got one spelling question. Most words were high school level vocabulary.

Reading (98): I did use the quizlets for reading to get an idea of the passages, but half of my passages ended up being ones I never bothered to look at. I had water cycle, rainforest, dollar bill, game of bridge, golden gate bridge, voice, and phobias. Again, I did not focus too much on the given quizlet answers because many seemed wrong. I felt I was better off going with my gut. Nursehub did help me in terms of reading under time constraints.

All in all, I feel getting a passing score does not require months of studying. And please, dont let my post discourage anyone from using quizlet if that study method works well for you! Im just relating my personal experience and what worked for me. Thank you, and good luck to everyone!

I’m pretty sure everyone who has taken the reading segment knows about the topic “White elephant“. Idk if I can post the entire paragraph cause it’s so long anyways, I had a problem with this question

  1. why is an unwanted gift called a white elephant?

A. It is rare thing to get an unwanted gift or

D. Siam’s rulers punished with the gift

I’ve seen a lot of quizlets put it as A but according to Ai sources it’s D??? and their logic makes so much sense too. so I just wanted to know if sm1 with a 100% in reading could enlighten me 🙏

Hi everyone! I’m going to try my best to put everything I want to say in here, but I’m still in a state of shock lol.

To start off, I have been so nervous for the past month since I scheduled this exam. I’ve never been good at taking tests and I get major test anxiety. I also don’t have my exact scores since I just took it today, so I’m going to try my best to remember what I got on each section. (I do know my highest was 100 and my lowest was a 90)
I took A&P, Biology, Vocab and General Knowledge, Math, and Reading Comprehension.

Study Method
I studied lightly for a few months and then very heavily for the 2 weeks leading up to the exam. (Everyday for a few hours)
I used NurseHub, Quizlet, and YouTube.

Anatomy 100%
This is the one score I remember exactly.
I started by watching Crash Course videos on YouTube for all the body systems, which gave me a really solid understanding of the important structures and their functions.
During the last two weeks, I Went through Quizlets that were floating around and Completed every practice test on NurseHub
I know every test is different, so I didn’t want to rely only on Quizlet even though people said it was exact. But honestly, that 30 question Quizlet going around was my exact test.

Math ~90%
Guys, I thought I failed this section so badly. I was really bummed because my program requires at least an 80%. I ended up getting around a 90%.
I only used NurseHub for this section. Since I work in a middle school, a lot of the math was basic stuff I already help students with, so I didn’t study too hard. I just had to brush up on conversions.
Make sure you know:
Fractions to decimals
Military time
KHDUDCM
Gallon Man
Proportions
Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions
Percent to decimal conversions
I didn’t get any Roman numerals (thankfully cause I didn’t study them lol)
My test was very word problem heavy. My school also includes 5 ungraded questions, so I think those were the ones I got stuck on since I still scored high despite feeling like I failed.

Vocab and General Knowledge ~90%
I only used Quizlet and NurseHub practice tests for this section.
It was pretty basic:
Word definitions
Context clues
Filling in correct spelling

Biology ~95%
I used:
Amoeba Sisters to review concepts
NurseHub practice tests
Quizlet
Again, my test was identical to the Quizlets floating around.

Reading Comprehension ~90%
I didn’t study much for this section.
The passages were short
Every answer could be found directly in the text
I skimmed a few Quizlets, and some were exact
I was worried this section would take a long time, but it was actually really easy to skim and find answers quickly.

Timing
I was very concerned about running out of time since that has always been an issue for me.
Total time 3 hours
Finished in about 1 hour 30 minutes
Math took me the longest, but everything else was a breeze.

Last but definitely not least, DO NOT STRESS IT.
I had anxiety every single day for a month. This morning I was freaking out so badly that when I walked in, the girl at check in asked if I needed a moment to grab water because I was shaking trying to sign in lol.
If you:
Study Quizlets
Use NurseHub
Watch Crash Course or Amoeba Sisters
You will be golden.
Coming from someone who is an awful test taker, it is really not as bad as it seems. I hope this post helps calm your nerves.
Good luck everybody, you got this! 💙
