I am probably going to get down voted for this but.. gift cards are a lazy gift

Does anyone else feel this way???? Gift cards are one of the most overrated and lazy parts of modern culture.

I know yall will say they are practical and safe, but let’s be honest they’re usually just a sign you didn’t want to put in the effort to actually think about the person.

If you really know someone, you can come up with something. Why not just give cash then if its because "they could buy what they want"

AND half the time they go unused/lost, or force someone to shop somewhere they dont want to.

Anybody feel the same way?

How do you feel about kitchen gadgets?

I’m considering getting a KitchenAid mixer for Mother’s Day - but would it be better to ask for something sentimental? I found one on sale for a friends and family deal but is that really what Mother’s Day is all about? I know, I’m lucky to have this problem.

Need gift ideas for boyfriend who already owns way too many records

My boyfriend goes to the record store literally every saturday and his collection is getting out of hand but it makes him happy so whatever. His birthday is coming up and I want to get him something vinyl related but I'm terrified of buying the wrong pressing or getting something he already has.

Budget is around $150, thought about a subscription service but most seem to just send random albums? Seems risky.

What's something unique I could get that avoids the awkward duplicate situation or should I just give up and get a gift card lol?

Parke just dropped a mommy and me collection if anyone needs Mother's Day ideas for a trendy TikTok type mom haha

mommy and me sets this one will be popular, especially in pink. Super trendy brand for the tiktok type moms! Wanted to share because the drop will sell out.

third party digital gift card sites actually useful for gifts, or just extra risk?

I see a lot of advice about buying digital gift cards online, and some guides even mention using thirdparty sites to save a bit or access brands that aren’t available in your country. I’ve used carddelivery once for a US‑region card,, and i’ve seen names like…GiftCard Granny and CardCash around, but i’m still not sure when this makes sense for gifting versus just buying directly from the brand.

for people who give digital gift cards a lot: do you ever bother with these resellers, or do you stick to official stores only when you’re sending something as a gift???

First apartment gifts?

This is sort of a graduation gift question… niece is about to graduate and get her first apartment. I want to get her something useful. $250 budget. What do you think? Like a blender and mixer? That’s where my head is at right now.

Potential custom anniversary gift / poster

I’ve always struggled with finding meaningful gifts, so I started making these personalized “where it all began” map prints.

You basically take a location that means something (where you met, first date, etc.) and turn it into a framed piece with names and a date.

I’m curious... do people actually like gifts like this, or is it too niche? Would you give this to your partner?

match boxes as a gift for my mom

hello! i’m a graphic design student and recently made these match boxes for a class (pictured above). i think they turned out pretty nice and they are completely functional. i bought a lot of 50 pretty cheap boxes off of amazon and need to use the rest of them. i was thinking of making a collection of match boxes for my mom. she buys probably a hundred candles per year so i think it would be super fitting. she uses a lighter, but i think even if she doesn’t really use the matches it would still be cute to display them with her candles.

any ideas on what to make the theme? i cant really do anything relating to old pictures of the family or my siblings young because i dont live at home where we keep the collection. she likes to garden, but is more into the aesthetic of her yard than the actual flowers. she has a chihuahua that she loves named skippy. she’s an interior designer. we live in michigan and she grew up here. she loves the colors green, black, and white. she’s not super into a lot of media, such as music, books, or movies, but does consume a lot of true crime tv shows.

if you have any ideas i would love to hear them! thank you!
