Is wedding china worth it anymore (2026 wedding registry help)? Are you still seeing china on registries?

I’m putting together my wedding registry right now and keep going back and forth on fine china. My mom insist it’s a must have but I honestly don’t know anyone my age who actually uses theirs. And my mom doesn't have a good set to pass down, she thinks I should start fresh and sent me some from Macy's.

A formal dinnerware set feels timeless and I like the idea of having something heirloom quality for holidays or hosting.

But iss wedding china worth it in 2026? I’ve also heard people say their china just sits in a cabinet for years, basically becoming decorative clutter. However it is a registry item that actually lasts decades and feels meaningful. And easy for the boomers to gift LOL.

So I’m torn between adding a china set to my wedding registry or skipping it entirely
