Remix06: Shakedown - At Night Alan Braxe Mix
Personally this might be one of the best remixes by a French House artist. Taking a pretty damn good original by Swiss group Shakedown and Braxing it up to infinity. Pure disco bliss for 7 minutes. I can't believe it's almost 25 years old!
Probably needs no introduction. Excellent remix. My brother has the first 12" with rare cover. Well jelly.
hi guys, how to mix and master french house tracks? like, the volume of the elements, the effects and other things?
Why does OTT compression create static transient noise on pads and synths with long sustain and release?
I currently use a glue compressor on the master channel to create the deep ducking French House and Electro is known for, fast attack, slow release, lowest threshold and max ratio, it helps me create that ghostly entry and exit of each track as it appears but I am realizing it distorts the tracks noted in the title, why is this happening is there anyway to avoid it? I am starting to use manual level sidechaining as it leads to more clarity but there is something about the compressor ducking that is magical and I prefer it
my daw does not allow me to isolate the kick from the rest of the compressor, so literally every track compresses the mix as it appears, it lets me create the pumping effect French House is known for, if anything the pumping is even more intense, for example if the bass and kick land at the same time, there is a very deep compression that happens, if I offset their placement slightly it kind of EQs them both out of the way while creating a deeper pump then if the kick was isolated
Would love feedback on this 2007 French electro-style track
Made this track while horrendously hungover, hence the cover lol. I’m moving back to France on sunday after 2 years in the UK and was obviously feeling very French that day, so I tried to make something with a 2007 French electro feel. Would love any feedback. should I release it? Cheers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOno8wYkNN4

youtu.beRemix09: The Whitest Boy Alive - Golden Cage (Fred Falke Remix)
I always see the Scandi House as a kind of spiritual successor to French House as it had its disco influences but could create a range of sounds and while not overly commercial or too severe in its purism. Lead singer of Whitest Boy Alive Erland Oye was kind of the dad of the sound helping it form so it's nice to see French House getting a direct link rather than me just moving from one scene to another and hoping there's a connection.
Falke turns a kind of ethereal slightly folk infused track and stretches it out for an indi disco of awkward men dancing with nervous women to an endless twilight of a Norwegian Summer. It's got that slight melancholy to end the night in a comfy armchair as you contemplate ending the dancing as your legs hurt.
Lucie
“Lucie” is a French house EP built around five ideas:
Liberté — movement
Égalité — shared light
Fraternité — moving together
Laïcité — the neutral space we share
Lucie — the experience of being inside that space
A dance-driven journey through light, breath, bodies and repetition.
