Bahn Ahn Em

i haven't been to the original Banh on 106 or something but i recently went to Anh Em. Didn't wait a long time. i thought the quality of everything was fantastic and the banh mi are huge but, maybe a hot take, I prefer the banh mi from Saigon Banh Mi on Grand.

Great hot sauce and spicy sliced garlic and the apps were awesome!

I went with a few people and split 3 sandwiches (OG, crispy pork belly and fried chicken) some summer rolls and some spring rolls.

Soft/Puree food spots in manhattan/queens

I recently broke my jaw from a fall, and unfortunately I'm wired shut for 2 months. I've been able to do smoothies, soups, and drinks, but I'm curious if anyone knows of spots that maybe do very soft or puree foods? It might be a stretch, but maybe there's restaurants out there that I can eat at while I'm recovering after surgery. Thanks!

Dinner in the Bronx at Sangria Cafe

This Latin restaurant is located in the Bronx. First dish is fried branzino served over red beans and rice with avocado salad and crispy sweet potato's $35. 2nd dish is seafood Mofongo with clams, mussels, shrimp and lobster $38. The restaurant prices are very reasonable for these big portions of food. I always have leftovers when I eat here. They also have strong drinks | love this restaurant you get a lot of food and all the flavors is hitting and they have a house DJ and have baseball games on the screen. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys authentic latin dishes. Restaurant website

Outdoor bars near Penn Station

I work near Penn Station, and we're always looking for outdoor/rooftop bars nearby for a drink after work. There are a few options (The Rutherford and Avenida are fine, though the menus are limited; Beer Authority and the bar at the Yotel are okay), but we're looking for more. We're a nonprofit so we're not looking for a fancy cocktail bar, but we are willing to travel a bit. Any suggestions?

Inexpensive lunch/dinner

My husband and I snagged last minute tickets at a great price to see a show in midtown tomorrow night to celebrate our anniversary. we will be spending the day somewhere in midtown but dont really have any super set plans beyond an 8pm show. we have about $160plus tip to cover both meals for the two of us. we are both pretty adventurous eaters and just looking for some recommendations for something new to try. love thai, steak, seafood, and anything a bit adventurous. like most other things. not looking for fast food, pizza, or standard Chinese like we can get in our tiny PA town.

Any cafe, preferably near midtown, that makes marocchino caldo

had this in Vegas and it was so good and I just stopped in about 10 cafes and nobody had it in New York. I tried to see if they can make it since it's just a tiny mocha sort of but was turned down every time.

in Vegas Illy made it. I haven't gone to the Illy here but looking online they have a different variation without the chocolate.

Affordable but upscale looking Indian restaurants?

Does anyone have any recommendations for Indian restaurants with good food and fair prices that also has a cool interior/indoor look inside the restaurant? For example, somewhere that has a cool or creative look inside that isn’t crazy expensive. Preferably it would be in Manhattan but could go elsewhere if needed. I am from LA so this is new to me, any help would be appreciated.

Good sit down restaurants with non-beef options walking distance one Vanderbilt?

Hello, I’ll be taking my family to the viewing deck of one Vanderbilt tomorrow and have a few people that cannot walk very far distances (disabled)

Are there any good recommendations for a sit down restaurant near / in one Vanderbilt? Mainly looking for good service and also multiple good dishes that don’t have beef in it (so most steakhouses probably a no-go). Price is less important but let’s say a $75pp cap.

Distance probably within a square of Lexington to 5th ave and 46th to 39th street

I tried doing some searches on here and google and couldn’t find many good options.

Edit - 4 people.

NIKU X

Just made a reservation for four next month. Three of us are not big eaters, so I opted for the Tasting Menu. Can the last member of our party "upgrade" to the Unlimited Grand Wagyu Menu, or does everyone have to be on the same page?

Also any thoughts, tips, or suggestions gleaned from your experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Room for 30-40 people for Sunday lunch?

Hi all! I’m trying to find a NYC restaurant with a private room for about 30-40 people for brunch/lunch for a baby shower. Ideally the place is no more than roughly $100 per person. Open to Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan as long as it’s not too difficult to get to. Open to cuisine! Any suggestions? Thank you!

Los Burritos Juárez is good. Not great.

Finally got around to this place. Had the verde and chile colorado burritos. I found both…fine. I prefer a more slender burrito with only a few fillings, but both fillings were nothing to sing about. A little bland, even. I expected a little more zing. What I was most surprised about being underwhelmed by was their famous tortillas. They were way spongier than I expected. Almost like (not trying to be needlessly provocative here) naan. If that’s how “authentic” flour tortillas are, fine, but it wasn’t really for me.

I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion, but just being honest. What’s everyone else’s thoughts on LBJ?
