Bhutan IS worth it🏔️🫶🏼

Spent the most ethereal 7days in Bhutan, a dream come true for us! Every single thing was worth the trip and money was very well spent!

Given how costly it is to come here, from the 100usd a day per person SDF (used to be and soon to be 200usd again btw!), mandatory tour agencies and costly flights, this had been on our bucketlist for almost 10years!

Bhutan may not be for everyone though- if you crave for modern cities and convenient kind of trips, this isn’t for you.

It’s a country filled with NATURE🫶🏼 (you’ll do lots of hiking, walking, temple visits, monastery visits), cultures are very well preserved and uncolonized by other countries. It is also the only carbon negative country in the world 😊

You come to Bhutan and you experience the actual Bhutan.🌳 Food also isn’t very fancy with their local food centering on vegetables, dairy and chillies.

But locals are good at speaking in English! Not all, but staff in the tourism industry and hospitality as well as kids are very fluent. Everyone we met from guides to locals were very welcoming.

The only regret I had from this trip is not doing it sooner.😅

I know someone will ask so I’ll drop how much we spent EXCEPT the Manila to Bangkok vv leg of the trip.

COST FOR TWO PAX for 7DAYS:

🌳RT Flights from Bangkok to Paro via DrukAir: 126,000php++

🏔️Tour (daily sdf, hotels, transpo, entrance fees, all the meals during the trip): 180,000php++

🐲Personal expenses (souvenirs, coffee shops, snacks, optional gratuities etc.): 15,000php++

Not sure if allowed, but we availed our tour from Holidays Bhutan (NOT SPONSORED) and we were very happy and satisfied with the whole arrangement🥰

Chengdu China Trip

Just came back from Chengdu, and eto na fave city ko for now. Been to Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin and Hangzhou and mas pinaka enjoy ko yung Chengdu. Mas mababait locals here than the other cities that i mentioned. Walang nagagalit sa amin pag di kami makapgsalita ng Chinese. Even the taxi drivers are suprisingly patient.

If ever mag Chengdu kayo, mag side trip kayo sa Jiuzhaigou. Grabe yung lakes super ganda! No need mag filter na sa pics. Medyo malayo nga lang sa Chengdu, around 4 hours ( 2 hrs by HSR & 2 hrs by bus).

Airline did not inform their passengers with the new requirement, got denied to check-in to my flight

After pleading my case for days since I was denied last Saturday, that's their reply.

Oman air failed its passengers to inform that a HIV test requirement is needed for tourists now to go to Oman. I stood at the airport traumatised by what happened last Saturday. I checked my emails, their website, oman embassy, foreign affairs website of oman, NOTHING! Now I asked from CAB for some help their final resolution is that Oman air was not negligent. Even though they did not inform passengers about the new requirements. This requirement was mandated just last March and I called the embassy and Oman air January and February.

I called Omani embassy yesterday the consulate said if you would've called you would've known. I'm feeling so helpless kasi I bought my flight ticket pre-conflict so I cant afford the price difference now. If I refund I will pay penalty. Wala sobrang talo.

Yung kasama ko sa tour dapat na Mother and son na belgian passport holders para makamura ako sa tours. Ayun andon sa Oman. Dirediretso walang need iprove na walang HIV.

Zhangjiajie over China's metropolises

https://preview.redd.it/l0zk4cin1qtg1.png?width=400&format=png&auto=webp&s=76c9957574e70459fecf30daaa089f59449e24ee

We're picking out a Chinese city for the 2nd intl trip this yr. As this is probably the only time I'll visit the country, gusto namin yung most fun/sulit na. Zhangjiajie will be an entirely different adventure from cities like Beijing, Shanghai, or Shenzhen. Sa mga nakapunta na, kung isang beses ka lang pupunta sa China, is the Zhangjiajie (+Furong ancient town) adventure a better pick than the buzz and the lights of the metropolises?

Bangkok China Town - Yaowarat Road

Went to Yaowarat alone via Grab, which was pretty accessible in the area. The drivers were polite and kind too. If you happen to visit Chinatown in Yaowarat, Bangkok, try Laoteng which is a chinese restaurant. Da dim sum is really good.

Advise ng mga locals not to stay late lang (midnight) bcs wala masyado masasakayan. Also marami pasalubong that you can buy. Crazy exotic foods can be found here too.

Hi im wondering if I can fly back to the states this May as a green card holder and passport expiring this October. I heard this wont be an issue in the US but might be an issue in the Philippine airports. I usually fly United airlines. Has anyone gone through this/know what will happen?

Im trying to book an appointment but the DFA passport website keeps crashing on me, so I have to wait 72 hours again.

Spelling Correction in Plane Ticket

Booked a PAL and AirAsia ticket through Agoda but unfortunately misspelled my name. I missed one letter in my first name.

I contacted agoda and asked me to pay an amount to process the spelling change but it has been 4 days since the request.

Flight is still on August. Learned my lesson to be more careful next time and avoid third party booking. Ended up paying more in the process for spelling correction than the actual ticket itself.

Does anyone else have experience in name spelling correction in Agoda?
I plan to wait for until 2 weeks. If no change, I'll just book another ticket.

How much pocket money should I bring to Taiwan?

My partner and I are travelling to Taipei next month. This is our 1st out of town trip. Mga magkano ba dapat ang iprep namin na pocket money for 6D5N tour? We are not planning na kumain sa mga restaurants and no plans din na mag shopping. Our priorities ay mag explore ng iba't ibang food sa mga night markets and ma try din ibang local foods plus bumili ng konting pasalubong. Then most of our tour na balak puntahan ay DIY lang

Booked wrong dates on Agoda (non-refundable) — any chance for help?

I recently booked a hotel in Bali through Agoda and made a couple of mistakes. I accidentally selected a non-refundable/non-amendable option, and on top of that, I entered the wrong dates. I meant to book June 27–July 1, but ended up booking June 26 instead.

I’ve already submitted a cancellation request through Agoda and also emailed the hotel directly. Just waiting on their response now.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Were you able to get a cancellation or at least a date change despite the policy? Any tips would really help. Thanks!

Natatakot kasi kami magpaprocess ng visa via chat lang sa Whatsapp or any messaging apps. May nabasa ako thru VFS pero ano po process doon?

first time Japan solo travel on January 2027

Japan first time solo travel January 2027

Will be traveling alone sa Japan this coming Jan 2027. I booked RT MNL-NRT blindly kasi 4.7k lang nung nag sale cebpac lol.

Since this will be my first time in Japan, ang initial itinerary ko is:

Jan 12: arrival at narita. Take a train to mt. Fuji (overnight)

Jan 13: ski + travel to kyoto

Jan 14: kyoto + nara day trip

Jan 15: kyoto + travel to osaka

Jan 16: osaka

Jan 17: osaka

Jan 18: osaka + shinkansen to Tokyo

Jan 19: tokyo

Jan 20: tokyo

Jan 21: tokyo

Jan 22: flight back to PH

Is this doable? Or too jampacked? As a first timer, nakaka overwhelm pala mag plan ng Japan itinerary 😂🫣

When I saw the price of one way Shinkansen 5k+ pala!!! Edi mag total sya ng 10k rt to tokyo. (Kaya pa naman paglaanan, pero worth it kaya?)

What if mag tokyo lang ako then mag 3 days lang sa mt fuji + ski?

Any insights? Masyado bang nakakapagod yung initial plan ko? Not really sure kasi when I can come back to Japan kaya na FOMO ako if tokyo lang & di na mag kyoto/osaka 😅
