How much time is this Prior felon looking at if convicted?

I know a person. They had a history of drug arrests. And a serious Assualt that ended them on probabtion. They violated probabtion a bunch of times, and ended up doing 2-3 years in Florida Prison. Got out, was fine for about 2-3 years. And then just got arrested again for 1. Assault DV 2. Criminal Mischief $1000 or more 3. Robbery by sudden snatching. (they are all labeled as 3rd degree felonies). The guy entered not guilty pleas for all. What is the amount of time this person faces if found guilty? thanks

Do Federal Judges Usually Defer From A DAs Recommended Sentencing Cap?

I get sentenced in June in Texas for conspiracy of selling drugs. The DA and my lawyer agreed to a 60 month cap but it's not bound. The judge can apparently do what he wants. My PSI unfortunately recommended way more then that, 160 months. I have been on pre trial release for 2 years and haven't gotten into any trouble.

Hair Test

Hello, I'm trying to make sense of why my hair test (taken on April 2nd) came back positive for alcohol when the last time I had that was back in July 2025. I don't know if it's because my hair grows slow or it could be my hair products. Although, I checked the ingredients of the products and none say "alcohol" on it. Same goes for my shampoo. Does anyone have experience with this? I requested a blood test, but that was denied and doesn't go that far back anyway.

Fighting

How hard is it to just keep your head down and do your time? I’ve posted on this sub before, I have a close friend who is incarcerated atm and he’s constantly going to the hole over dumb shit/fighting. I keep telling him he needs to keep to himself but he says it’s really hard. Does it just depend on the facility? He’s in Shelton in Washington state if that makes any difference.

NJ expungment and law enforcement

Back in 2016 I had a few CDS class 3 felony’s in NJ, started drug court in 2017 and graduated in 5/2021. NJSP complied and “deleted/sealed” idk, everything, for a lack of better words in 10/2021.

Been wanting to pursue a career in law enforcement, Pennsylvania specifically. The application asks “have you ever been convicted of a felony” how would I answer this? It doesn’t ask about expungements. I mean technically, I haven’t since NJ drug court ordered an expungement.

Ran a background check through ePatch like told to do so, as well an FBI fingerprint check, both come back clean. I even own hand guns and have a concealed carry permit.

But can an agency see my past record? Across state lines? If the FBI has no clue, why would anyone else? I know a felony isn’t an automatic disqualification, they say it isn’t, but probably is, who knows. Since technically drug court allows you to answer No to the question above, that would be my answer…??

What the thoughts on this?

Thx

Fighting tooth and nail

Nobody else will understand except y'all.

I've been out of prison for two years, one month and eleven days.

I feel like I have been fighting uphill, in the mud, in the dark. I fought to get out of prison early, fought to get out of the halfway house, fought to get off of the ankle monitor. Every single one of those steps was hard, harder than it should be. It feels like the system is set up to ensnare you and put you back in a cage.

I fought to be able to afford my own place and not have to live with my mother. She's an absolute saint btw, that's not why I moved out, I moved out because I'm a mom too and a grown adult and shouldn't be living in my mom's house.

I've got my own place and I'm trying to build a life for my kids and myself. I work full time. My first job when I got out was telemarketing, it was awful work. I fought to get a better job, then got promoted then left that job snd got an even better job. I'm still barely making it as a single mom with three kids.

My car died on me last fall and I didn't have the funds to replace it. I still don't. I rideshare with strangers I met on Facebook to my corporate job an hour each way. At night I come home and feed the kids, then I do homework. I'm in college, one semester away from finishing my associates degree in business. I'll be done this summer.

Here's the thing: I still feel like a failure, like a loser. Everything is so fucking hard. Oh I'm going to make it, I don't have a choice. I'll get my bachelor's, work my ass off, buy us a house, send my kids to college all of it.

I just need another human being to know that it is taking absolutely everything that I have in me to dig out of the hole that prison left in my life. I take full responsibility. This is not a sob story. It's just me baring my soul because I can't do it anywhere else. Thanks for reading 🙏

Questions regarding a loved one's sentencing

Someone very close to me recently turned himself in for doing some very bad things. I don't know what the specific charges are as the inmate search hasn't seemed to update to show those, but I do know there are three. He saw a judge today for his IA and they set the bond to $100,000. Nobody can pay that, so I don't think he will be able to get out on bail. Is this a bad sign for the bond to be that high? It should be mentioned he has no criminal history and is not a flight risk. I was told he had mentioned something about a hearing being next Friday, but the phones are so bad that they couldn't hear what he said the hearing was for. Would this be for sentencing? Does this mean if he was hypothetically out on bond, he would likely only be out for a week until this hearing?

I'm completely in the dark as to how this process goes, so some insight would be greatly appreciated.

Felons what’s been your experience traveling?

I recently started planning a cruise to Bahamas from New Jersey but it turns out that cruises back ground check. I haven’t called the cruise line yet to confirm whether I would be allowed to board but it seems there might be more difficulty traveling as a felon. I also wanted to visit Europe but the new ETIAS background might keep me from going cause I have a violent felony.

Just curious what experience other felons have had traveling to Europe and on cruises.

Sentencing this week (in my early 20s) any advice on what to say? (federal/wire)

My lawyer will handle most of this, I have letters prepared, family coming. I was told I will be able to self surrender, but I wanted to know what I can say to the judge/how to prepare.

First time moving after burglary/battery charge

So I got a burglary battery and resisting arrest with violence back in 2022, I had a withold of adjudication so I wasnt convicted.

I have been living in my apartment since 2021 and will be relocating soon. I have never tried renting before with a criminal record and im wondering how hard it's going to be.

Over the past 3 years I have had quiet a few arrests, misuse of 911, disorderly intoxication (charge dropped) harassing phone calls, and written threat to kill (no charges filed)

To me it looks pretty bad so im kind of worried about it.

The only thing I got going for me right now is I get $4000 a month from va benefits and iv never been late on a payment the 5 years iv been at this apartment.

What are the best countries for felons to move to?

I've decided that if I ever end up with a felony, I will move out of the US once I'm released from prison, because there's no point in trying to make a career in the US when criminal records are publicly accessible. What countries are the best possible escape options? I'm looking for developed countries which allow felons to come.
