Questions regarding a loved one's sentencing
Someone very close to me recently turned himself in for doing some very bad things. I don't know what the specific charges are as the inmate search hasn't seemed to update to show those, but I do know there are three. He saw a judge today for his IA and they set the bond to $100,000. Nobody can pay that, so I don't think he will be able to get out on bail. Is this a bad sign for the bond to be that high? It should be mentioned he has no criminal history and is not a flight risk. I was told he had mentioned something about a hearing being next Friday, but the phones are so bad that they couldn't hear what he said the hearing was for. Would this be for sentencing? Does this mean if he was hypothetically out on bond, he would likely only be out for a week until this hearing?
I'm completely in the dark as to how this process goes, so some insight would be greatly appreciated.
