EU users, what’s the cleanest way to fund in USD?

I’m based in Europe and trying to figure out the most efficient way to deposit USD into eToro. Right now it feels like I might be getting hit with conversion more than once depending on the method I use, but I’m not 100% sure if I’m understanding it correctly. Has anyone figured out a clean setup for this? Or if someone from eToro is around, is there a recommended way to minimize unnecessary FX conversions? Feels like something a lot of people probably run into.

What’s the smartest way to test eToro before going all in?

I’m planning to start small and basically test drive everything on etoro before committing more capital, like doing a small deposit, placing a few trades, and then trying a withdrawal just to see how the whole flow works. Curious if anyone has done something similar and if there’s anything specific I should watch out for. Also wondering if etoro has any recommended best practices for new users so you don’t run into issues later. Would be great to hear both user experiences and maybe an official take if someone from the team is around.

Trying to understand how withdrawals actually work

I’ve been using eToro for a bit now and everything’s been pretty smooth so far, but I realized I don’t fully understand how withdrawals are processed. If you deposit using different methods like card first and then bank transfer later, how does it decide where the money goes when you withdraw? Does it always go back to the original source first or can you choose? I’ve seen a few mixed answers here, so just trying to get clarity before I move larger amounts. If anyone from eToro happens to see this, would be great to get the official explanation.

How protected are funds on eToro really?

Seeing a lot of mixed discussions around brokers lately and it got me thinking, what’s the exact structure of fund protection on eToro? I know there’s regulation depending on region, but I’m not fully clear on what that actually means in practice. Are funds fully segregated? What kind of protection schemes apply for EU users? Not trying to be alarmist, just want to understand properly. If someone from eToro could explain this in simple terms, I think it would clear up a lot of confusion for people here.

EU Referral Program Change

In the EU, the customer referral program terms were changed on April 20th. Now, the balance is what matters, not the club level. What about friends who registered before April 20th? Do the old terms still apply if they have fulfilled the requirements?

How are you structuring your portfolio on eToro long term?

Been using eToro for a while and starting to think more about how to structure things properly instead of just holding random positions.

Right now it’s a mix of stocks, some crypto, and a bit of experimenting, but it doesn’t feel very intentional.

Trying to figure out whether it’s better to keep it simple with a core setup or actually use more of the platform features like copy trading or smart portfolios. Would be interesting to hear how others are approaching it once they move past the beginner stage.

Account creation email

Received an email that looks legit stating an account has been created. I've never been on eToro.

I tried to flag with eToro/raise a ticket but it just keeps asking me to log in.

Should I be concerned at all? Any way to get through to eToro without creating an account?

What do fees mean ?

I have these stocks that ive been holding for years through buying every month, and just now noticed the "fees" column. I only have 17 trades in Microsoft, with the 1 USD per purchase fee, it should be -17 USD instead its 221 USD.

All these stocks are not leveraged, so not CFDs.

Anyone had a fully positive experience with eToro holding $20k+ long term?

I’ve been researching eToro and honestly most of what I’m seeing online is negative—withdrawal issues, spreads, account restrictions, etc

I’m curious if that’s just biass (people post more when things go wrong), or if it reflects the typical experience.

Has anyone here actually had a consistently positive experience with eToro while holding a larger balance (around $20,000 or more)?

Specifically interested in:

•	Smooth deposits/withdrawals over time

•	No account limitations or unexpected issues

•	Reasonable fees/spreads in practice

•	General trustworthiness for long-term use

Would appreciate hearing from people with real, longer-term experience—good or bad—but especially if things have gone smoothly for you.

eToro deducted $5,000 and closed my account right after withdrawal request

I’m posting this here because I know eToro’s support is notoriously slow and I need to warn others about what just happened to me.

I’ve been using eToro for a long time now. Last week, I finally decided to withdraw my funds (around $5,000). For a few days, the request was "under review," which I thought was just a standard security check.

But today, I found out that eToro simply deducted the full $5,000 from my balance and immediately terminated my account. I am now completely locked out.

I received ond automatized email, no notification, and no explanation for why they seized my funds.

eToro refused my referral reward almost 1.5k usd after all terms were met – using vague "bad faith" clause

I referred several friends to eToro. Every single one of them met the written requirements:

✅ Completed registration

✅ Verified account

✅ Deposited $100+

✅ Opened trades of $100+

✅ Done within 90 days

eToro then refused to pay out ~$1400 in referral rewards, claiming my friends showed “no intent of maintaining an active trading relationship” because they withdrew after their first trade.

Here’s the problem: nowhere in the Terms & Conditions does it say funds must remain on the platform, or that a minimum holding period is required. They are applying criteria that simply do not exist in the written terms.

They called it “Promotion Arbitrage” – a term that also does not appear anywhere in the T&Cs.

I’ve sent a formal complaintIf they don’t agreeI’m escalating to CySEC and

Has anyone else experienced this? Would love to know if this is a pattern

I built a tool to detect dangerous Popular Investor behaviour

Hi!

I have been working on a tool for the last 4 years that allows users to get automatic emails whenever a Popular Investor in their watchlist makes an unusual decision, leaps risk scores or invests in something they don't typically own, by analysing their usual behaviour.

I have also created a free weekly newsletter that sends emails straight to your inbox every Monday, detailing where money is flowing, what popular investors are losing and gaining the most AUM, and what tickers they are buying, selling, holding and so on.

It's been very expensive to develop, I am 22 and it's been a dream to build.

I am hoping it's of interest to the wider community https://bulltrackers.uk/

Welcoming feedback!

Question new Tori ai

I have platinum subscription and using tori to get some support on the app but this is really limited. I access Tori through help and support page and i click on start chatting.

Then received an email yesterday with the new improved tori.

Tried it and it was good, it analysed my portfolio and game some suggestions what to do or improve. It could even analyse a stock.

Email said i can access by clicking star icon on the top right corner of the etoro app or on pc. But I’m missing this icon on both app and pc.

I try to access using help support page and it seem the Tori AI downgraded it self. It basically can do anything as advertised.

Does anyone experience this?

Thanks

Creating AI Portfolio Issues

Wanting to segregate AI trading bots away from my human portfolio and saw the feature to do this “AI Portfolio”. Added a bunch of finds to the account and went ahead running into this issue "apiKeys.createSubPortfolioAndKeyFailed”.

The http response indicates this is an issue with “CopyNotAllowed”.

I raised several requests to get the issue understood and today I got a hastily close support ticket and a response that doesn’t give next steps.

Now the feature has been totally removed from my account.

I’m platinum +, the account managers don’t answer when I call though and no response via email.

I just want to segregate the AI bots into their own area / API keys. Most other platforms do this without this level difficulty, how do I get to talk about the next steps and a solution to using this feature?

It's publicly known this is a working feature since March this year

Possible reward deduction

I have succesfully invited 12 people. All of them met the criterias so I received a reward after each of them.

There was a 30 day lock before I could withdraw the rewards.

I succesfully withdrawn 2000 usd. However when I tired to withdraw the last 400 usd it got cancelled and my account got restricted. Now I am waiting for an email from the finance department for the reason.

Im really afraid by reading these reddit posts, I read that they can remove or deduct the reward which was already granted to my account.

Before I withdrawn that 2000 usd seperately, I have waited 30 days and got through the 1 day "under review" process.

Will they deduct the previous rewards from my account so my balance can go to negative 2000???!!!!

I also read that if a friend withdraws instantly, thats a reason for deduction.

What can I expect? I hope if they deduct, they will only remove the remainig amount. I don't know what to expect from this platform anymore.
