eToro refused my referral reward almost 1.5k usd after all terms were met – using vague "bad faith" clause
I referred several friends to eToro. Every single one of them met the written requirements:
✅ Completed registration
✅ Verified account
✅ Deposited $100+
✅ Opened trades of $100+
✅ Done within 90 days
eToro then refused to pay out ~$1400 in referral rewards, claiming my friends showed “no intent of maintaining an active trading relationship” because they withdrew after their first trade.
Here’s the problem: nowhere in the Terms & Conditions does it say funds must remain on the platform, or that a minimum holding period is required. They are applying criteria that simply do not exist in the written terms.
They called it “Promotion Arbitrage” – a term that also does not appear anywhere in the T&Cs.
