Is this dress unflattering?

Is this dress unflattering?

I really like the vibe of the dress because it's long and flowy and has an open back. My concern is that the bust area doesn't look right for my body type.

Honest feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: Thank you everyone, you confirmed my suspicions.

My wife says all my clothes just burn. I don’t know what to replace them with.

I hate shopping for clothes, always have. I have no idea what to buy for myself and when I find something I don’t hate, I keep it forever.

My wife has made it very very very plain that she is incredibly sick of seeing the same clothes for years at a time, I need advice.

The relevant things are that I am quite short, especially legs. 5’0 exactly. My measurements fluctuate quite a bit up and down, and these are random captures from what few photos I have over the past few years. I’m probably in the middle of this size right now. Mid 40’s, professional. I always have wide hips and butt regardless of the rest of my size fluctuations.

I mostly feel comfortable dressed this way, I very often wear a jacket or hoodie or sweater to cover up as I am not comfortable with my shape. My entire wardrobe aside from a few shirts like these here and there is T-shirts we randomly get from souvenir shops or fun run events etc, and they are pretty much always ill fitting.

I won’t wear dresses or skirts or frills or anything too feminine, but I do want to be dressed appropriately for a woman for office work or going out for drinks or whatever the event may be. I despise the “girl sleeves” that are just tiny triangles, so I mostly end up with 3/4 sleeves to avoid them. I need new shoes too, since I’m on the topic. I just barely got used to skinny jeans and the style is out now I have heard, but it feels like wide legs will make me look even shorter and thicker so no idea what to do.

Comfort is very important to me, I want to be able to sit and walk normally and not worry that my clothes are going to malfunction or need constant adjustment. Thanks all.

Graduation dress color dilemma

Hi everyone! I’m trying to decide between these two dresses for my graduation/prom ceremony and I genuinely can’t choose anymore 😅

The white dress is one size smaller, so it looks a bit more fitted on me, which I actually like. At the same time, I’m not completely sure about the dress itself… although the white color gives me this soft, elegant, almost “pure” feeling that I really love.

On the other hand, almost everyone around me says the pink dress suits me better and makes me look more radiant. Honestly, I like both dresses almost equally, so now I’m completely torn.

In my country there isn’t really a tradition that graduation dresses have to be white, so the color itself doesn’t matter. I’d just really love to hear some unbiased opinions about which color/style suits me more overall.

Also sorry for the messy background, it was just a quick try-on session 😭

Hello! I recently started a PhD and now work in an office with other students. There is no real dress code by any means, people wear outfits ranging from jeans and a T-shirt to long summer skirts and dresses to a suit! But everyone else in the office looks nice and put together. I never look nice and put together.

I really really dislike so much about my body, and so all I’ve I’ve been wearing for years is big T-shirts and sweatpants which I feel conceal me somewhat.

But now I’ve started this PhD I feel like I actually want to dress more like an adult and start looking a bit more put together. But whenever I try to dress ‘nice’, I just feel like everything looks awful on me, and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I tried on a bunch of stuff to see if I could plan some easy ‘go to’ outfits that actually look ok.

I’d really hugely appreciate any help or advice about which of the outfits I’ve tried here looks best. It might also be helpful to know what silhouettes might work best on me. I think almost any input would be helpful tbh, I’m lost lol. And thank you to anyone who reads this! Sorry for the slight wall of text 😅

Low vs high rise on 5'0

I've always been partial towards low rise/baggy pants and I feel huge in high rise, but I am curious which is objectively more flattering on me? I hear a lot that short folks should wear high rise to elongate their legs or whatever, I'm not really sure if that works.

Need help deciding on a dress for graduation

I’m trying to decide if I should get a new dress (pics 1-3) or if I should re-wear a dress I got last year for an event (pic 4). I paired the pic 4 dress with the belt in pic 5 (sorry it’s a bad pic) when I last wore it and plan to wear it again. Pic 6 is the dress with the belt on. I’m an art major and want to go with a dress that’s unique and artsy.

I ended up getting the pic 7 dress, currently working with kitchener 50%y,20%c,20%r,10%n and color seasons true+light summer and light spring. Kibbe type most likely SC. Any general advice on what works/doesn't is welcome ❤️

Blue or beige ?

I posted about a set that came with shorts and shirt ( for beach vacation) ended up buying it, now looking to see how I can use the items separately too . I like both combos , but what is better ? The navy sweater or beige ? Or they just both look off with the shorts ? Or they both look good ? Do the shorts look pj like too much or does the sweater tone even down to casual , evening walk by the water ??
Advice is appreciated 😌

Hello! I'm about to buy myself new shoes for the first time in almost 10 years. I immediately thought to buy Mary Janes, since that's the style I used to have. However, I'm 37 now and I'm wondering if I'm too old for them to be appropriate. I understand I can wear what I want, but I'm trying to dress my age. So would Mary Jane shoes ruin that effort?

(I'm thinking of getting them in a dark red, does that help not looking like a school girl?)

Thank you!

Hey! I’m from Latin America (born and living there) and it’s pretty common here to have “fancy graduation parties” (for college or university, I don’t know the actual difference!) that are pretty similar to weddings.

My brother in law is graduating and obviously I want to be pretty for my boyfriend’s family. These are the 2 options.

For reference, I’m 5’2 and weigh 128. I’m not super confident with my body because I feel chubby so I want to feel amazing with my dress.

Thanks in advance ✨

Help me

Hi everyone!
I still struggle a lot with loose skin around my stomach and arms.

I also honestly don’t really know what my body type is anymore, which makes shopping even more confusing. I’m 5’8”, so finding clothes that are actually long enough is already difficult, and then on top of that I’m always trying to dress around the loose skin. It makes me feel like I’m constantly covering myself up instead of just wearing what I actually like.

Does anyone have advice on how to dress for this? Specific clothing cuts, fits, fabrics, brands, or styling tips that helped you feel more comfortable and flattering. Especially for taller girls 🤍

35 and trying to figure out how to dress myself

I’m 35 and trying to figure out how to dress myself in a way that actually feels like me. Here’s a little board of my primary wardrobe.

I’m 5’11”, around 250, broad/framed, and work in a corporate business casual office and industrial environment (industrial space requires a wardrobe change and specific clothing separate from this) where I need to look competent but not overly formal. I don’t wear makeup, don’t enjoy overly feminine styling, and I care more about comfort, texture, and silhouette than trends. I have some sensory issues to cater to, and pants are never long enough.

I align toward an “academic / earthy / formidable” vibe.

I’m trying to avoid:
looking frumpy
looking overly corporate
looking “young” in a forced way
tiny delicate details that get visually lost on me
stiff business casual

I think I may be a Flamboyant Natural

What I need help with:
What’s working here?
What looks off?
What pieces/categories are missing?
What shoes/accessories would elevate this?
How do I make this look intentional instead of “teacher/art teacher/library”?
How do I keep this aesthetic while still looking polished in a professional environment?

I’m not trying to become trendy or hyper-feminine. I just want to look like a grounded, intelligent adult woman who understands herself

Help with maternity wedding guest dress

I’ve been shopping friends closets trying to find a free wedding guest dress, which do you think is best for a black tie optional wedding? My husband will be wearing a tux. Blue dress is an actual maternity dress but I feel like a cow in it and it’s jersey fabric.

What bra to wear with this dress?

Is there any hope or do I need to consider sewing a piece of fabric into that opening?

What is my Kitchener essence blend?

I asked this subreddit about a year ago what my essence blend might be. I wanted to conduct an experiment to see if most people would give the same Kitchener blend as last time, or it’ll be different!

I have changed a few things about my appearance, and I know that shouldn’t change your blend necessarily, however I wanted to see if it would impact how people might perceive me :)

I like these jeans but I’m seeing them get looser. I don’t love the feeling of tight jeans (I’m a mom with two kids and need to move around) but I’m wondering if these look a bit frumpy? They don’t fall off my hips (I have wider hips) but I am wondering if they’re doing anything for me.
