Behold my creation: Magnet Holders for Dummies!
So, I CANNOT do cat’s eye effects with magnetics because I always, always, tap my wet polish with the wand. Placing the wand underneath works but the line isn’t as crisp. Other magnet holders don’t have adjustable heights so the magnet is too far from your finger (again, not crisp) and/or, you have to slide your finger in and I cannot be trusted to move smoothly. I’ve also had trouble aligning the magnet repeatable between coats and I don’t have the patience to do one nail at a time.
Therefore, I present my 3D-printed creation! These little holders allow me to keep my finger in place the whole time and then drop the magnet on quickly and repeatably after each coat. The little spacers on each dowel allow me set the precise height for each finer before painting so that I don’t smudge wet polish with the magnet.
I thought the little finger stopper in the front would be helpful but I think I’m actually going to delete it on the next revision. I’m also going to move the dowels further out to five myself more space to paint my side walls more cleanly and I may make a little sideways wedge for my pinky holder since it’s a little difficult to hold all 4 fingers perfectly flat at once; my pinky wants to turn.
