Last week, I purchased a large Florentine satchel from Depop. And while she is beautiful, she is obviously older and incredibly slouchy, especially after removing the packing used for shipping. Is this normal for older bags? Anything I can do to retain the shape better?
Does it drive anyone else nuts with the ilovedooney and Dooney websites price fluctuations? I bought a Florentine medium Russel tote for $169 last week, and today I went back to pick another color and it’s freaking $299! Both times it’s on sale but I don’t understand their business tactics or logic behind this crazy pricing strategy. Sometimes ilovedooney will have a bag for say $299 and the same bag will be on “sale” for literally half the price on Dooney.com. Like comeon can you bring some standards for pricing so I don’t have to keep watching the websites and don’t have the feeling that I’m gonna get duped if I don’t keep checking! So frustrating! I love this brand and hate their pricing strategy. Seems deceitful and I might just stop shopping with them!
What do you all think of this color to carry everyday? It’s the Lucca Satchel with pocket in color dandelion.
Toscana florentine side zip satchel in Ginger, palladium hardware, webbing strap. I love this bag, I have more than one but wish I had been just made of money in the Toscana era so I could have them all. SO CHOICE
I’ve been scouring my local TJMaxx and Marshalls in hopes of finding a Florentine like others have posted on here. I was driving home from a friends house and decided to stop at a couple stores that were on the way home but not my typical area and I struck gold!
It’s not the satchel I was looking for but I’m almost glad because it’s definitely not one I already own. Best part was I was able to get 10% off because of the “scratches” on the bag (I can easily work them out with conditioner) so I got the bag for $130 after my rewards 🙌🏼
After being a lifetime Coach gal, I got a Dooney. Bought from the store in Orlando FL. Card says it was made in 2022 though? Is that normal? Looking online it seems like those ones are better quality and bigger than newer ones anyways? Also, they had several black Florentine satchels. Some with red zipper tape, some with black zipper tape. At first I was a little bummed this is an “older” bag but now I’m smitten 😍

Now that she's gotten a few light rounds of TLC the domed satchel I got is turning into a bag I really love. I never expected to like it - I figured it was an investment in rehab practice. Why not both? 😎

Just received this beauty in the mail, new with tags, and I have a small concern. First of all, though this is Florentine, she’s got a shine right out of the box, like the leather has been treated. Another bummer is that fact that the leather is very stiff. So much so that I can’t close it all the way. And I had to pull super hard to close even partially. And finally, I’m very disappointed that this bag does not give off that amazing smell. What gives?
I've been perusing eBay a lot of late, when what to my wondering eyes did appear? A gorgeous classic that I now hold so dear. From the moment I spied it, I knew I had to have it. A Barlow bag in cream patent leather, circa 2010 (approx.) The red leather is saffiano, the light brown is vachetta leather. The inside key hook has red saffiano leather, along with the zipper pull. Basically it's everywhere inside that bag. The attention to details is immeasurable and astounding. It's in fantastic condition and she's now going to be my summer bag. I want to add, the seller of this bag was truly amazing to work with. She's a small reseller and I'd certainly purchase from her again.
I’ve been lurking here for a while just admiring everyone’s bags and telling myself I couldn’t justify the price online. Then I saw someone mention finding Dooney & Bourke at TJ Maxx and Ross, so I figured why not go check.
Went to TJ Maxx today and somehow got so lucky. I found my holy grail Dooney. Like actually perfect for me. I’m still kind of in shock lol. It smells so good and the leather is sooo soft. I love it so much 😭😆

Lucked out and found an OG satchel in navy and a small safiano zip satchel on EBay and Mercari!!! So happy to add them to the collection 🥳

Is this Dooney bag real?? The logo seems different than my other bags. It’s an older bag but something about it just seems off. First photo is bag in question, second and third are bags bought directly from Dooney. To me it seems like the beak and tail are off, the eye is smaller, detail around the neck being flat on the first one but rounded on the second two, shape of head, shape of the body in general, and the lettering seems wider… Or is this what the old old logos looked like? Please any help is appreciated 🫠

These have me in such a grip and I am not mad about it. I just love how much they hold: I can keep my cards, cash, earbuds, and even my key in there if I don’t wanna bring my whole purse.
I already have a quite a few in the pebbled leather but I saw these on ILD for $55 each and immediately added the navy and chestnut to my cart. The 15% on Rakuten is a nice bonus, too. I don’t have any in the Florentine leather so these will be a lovely addition to my collection.

I “de-coated” these two bags and I just love them so much! For anyone who’s done the same, did you cover the leather and Scotchgard? If so, was that the right call?
I bought a brand new ostrich leather regular florentine and as beautiful as she is — I’m just used to a larger bag and afraid I won’t use her often enough to justify not selling. (My current carry is the large natural and I’m so much happier with that size.) Wanting opinions on what to do.
