Is it legal for a bank IT to mention a customer’s loan status without consent?

Someone I know (except not so much they're like a friend of a friend) brought up my account info and I’m not sure if that’s appropriate. Also, the bank already sends official reminders about dues, so I don’t think it’s necessary for someone to bring it up personally. Is this normal/allowed, or is this a privacy issue? Am I being sensitive and overreacting? Did I misinterpret his intentions in a negative way?

Coach bag worth 27.4k in PH is just 13.2k in the US + 132 cashback 🥳

Super tipid na nga from the outlet store, mas gumaan pa lalo cuz of MariBank’s 0% FX fee + 132 cashback pa 🥹🥹🥹

Not trying to flex, just genuinely happy with the savings and how smooth the transaction was. Sharing the video here in case it helps anyone thinking of doing the same 😊

Apparently, GoTyme Has Better Conversion Than Maya and PayPal

SKL. In case you’re not aware, it’s better to directly withdraw in USD instead of converting through PayPal first.

So I’ve been doing paid surveys lately, and some of the payouts are in USD.

I tried checking which method gives the best conversion, and based on my experience, GoTyme seems to work best so far.

Just make sure your card is receiving USD (or avoid converting to PHP too early) before you withdraw, so you can get a better rate.

Additional note:
I made the transfer on the same day for both GoTyme and Maya para ma-compare ko.

STEPS FOR USD CARD CONVERSION:

  1. You just have to link your Maya/GoTyme card (Pwede virtual or physical card) sa PayPal.
  2. Message the customer support, tell them you want to convert the card to USD.

Message:
I would like to request to change the currency of my linked card to USD. Please set my card (Maya/GoTyme ending in ****-- last 4 digits ng card) to be billed in USD instead of PHP.

I would like my card to be billed in USD so my bank handles the conversion.

Then you just have to wait until their customer support agents go online and they will process it easily.

  1. You can withdraw the USD directly to your Maya card na without converting to PHP.

Si mismong maya na ang mag-coconvert niya. Which means wala ng extra fees from PP.

Maya to reduce base interest rate to 3% starting May 1, 2026

Previously, may announcement si Maya na ganto kaso parang di natuloy. Pero now, it looks like it's finally happening this coming May.

Boosted rates remain the same naman as per their website

Recently began diversifying my funds as an unemployed 24 year old

Landbank lang talaga ginamit ko for a while, so when reached my first 100k after many months of saving, I figured it was time to try investing. Is this a good idea?

Interest Rate Bunos 1% p.a. for one year

u/error502nofound — 3 hours ago

Maya down to 3% base interest soon

Effective May 01. Pababa ng pababa si Maya. So if di mo masyado ginagamit Maya mo for payment much better ilipat sa Maribank na may 3.25% per annum.

Lazada Wallet to Maya.

Last April 18, 2026 nagwithdraw ako ng Php40k from Lazada Wallet to Maya. Nakalagay naman dun : "Funds are typically available instantly, but may take up ti 5 business days deoending on your bank".

What CC is a beginner friendly and no annual fee?

As someone in her 20s, I wonder what CC is the best pick, including its pros and cons, accessibility, safety, etc. Been eyeing for RCBC and Union Bank, other suggestions?

People focus on earning more money but don’t track their expenses.

Pesonet Transfer Delayed to MariBank from Maya Savings (Weekend Transfer)

Normal pa rin po ba to since weekend ako nagsend? Ano po kaya puwedeng gawin?

Thoughts on CitySavings Power Savings with 4% interest per annum?

I read here that City Savings Bank is known for loans offered to public school teachers. Recently, I learned that they launched a deposit product last year, wherein you can earn up to 4% per annum. Anyone tried this? How is it so far?

Which Digital Bank is the most "student-friendly" for storing scholarship stipends?

I finally want to move my stipend out of my traditional Landbank account to actually earn some interest.

I’m looking for a digital bank that has:

  • High Interest: At least 4-6% p.a.
  • Zero/Low Fees: Especially for transfers to Gcash or Maya.
  • Good UI: Something that doesn't crash during peak hours.

Is GoTyme still the king for the free physical card, or should I look into OwnBank or Seabank for the daily interest crediting? Would love to hear from other students on how you manage your savings!

Using banKo for holding some of my extra cash for the passive interest. No task needed just deposit your money with decent interest.
