Legendary Voice Actor Kazuya Nakai Linked to Indian Blockbuster ‘Operation Dhurandhar’ for Japan Release.
TOKYO – The first installment of the record-breaking Indian franchise, titled Operation Dhurandhar for the local market, is set to hit Japanese cinemas on July 10, 2026.
Excitement is peaking as reports link legendary voice actor Kazuya Nakai—best known as the voice of Roronoa Zoro in One Piece—to the Japanese dub.
More works - Mugen (Samurai Champloo), Toshirō Hijikata (Gintama), Zapp Renfro (Blood Blockade Battlefront), Akitaru Ōbi (Fire Force), Date Masamune (Sengoku Basara).
Fans expect Nakai to voice one of the film’s gritty leads, such as Hamza, matching the movie's "raw intensity."
Distributed by TWIN, the film arrives in Japan following a massive global run of over ₹1,400 crore.
While the sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, continues to shatter records in India, Japanese audiences will first experience the 206-minute "Japan Cut" of the original thriller that started the phenomenon.
The songs in this movie are just mind-blowing 🔥🔥
I wanted to compare the Rotten Tomatoes score for these films and I was baffled by what I saw. Both D1 and D2 have a negative critic score, while having a highly positive score (the audience knows ball, not the critics), while a film like Pathaan has both a highly critic and audience score.
However, the review that these so called critics gave between these films made me feel like that they didn’t actually watch the film and felt like hating on the film to be cool (or more likely they were paid to do this, not very surprising)
This includes the likes of mahaan reviewers such as Shri Sucharita Tyagi, Shri Rahul Desai, Shri Siddhant Adlakha, Shri Rohan Naahar, Shri Carla Hay and more. When you read their reviews, it becomes pretty clear that they didn’t watch D1/D2 and are making statements that don’t make sense such as Rahul Desai, who says “All style, no substance.”
In D1 and D2, its able to balance style and substance, while giving us emotional moments in both films that feel grounded and layered, unlike in Pathaan, where it tries to be emotional, but fails and falls completely flat. D2 has a lot of emotional moments that allow us to feel them and be marinated in it and the ending is literally perfect in terms of emotions, execution and meaning.
Another review that baffled me the most is from Shri Rohan Naahar who says that D2 is “ought to be cancelled on artistic grounds alone before even a word is spoken about its problematic politics.” But for Pathaan, he says “Paathan got Indians across the world to cheer for a Pakistani ex-ISI agent, and Pakistanis to cheer for a Bollywood superstar. Nobel Peace Prize or bust.” 🙄 LIKE WHAT.
I won’t go though them all, but it truly makes me mad when I see reviews like this that aren’t logically sensible and don’t have a solid base to back it up. I respect those that don’t like the film and i think it allows for different perspectives to be brought up, but basing a review without solid claims is just illogical and baffling. I would honestly love to have a chat with these critics someday to show them their credibility and what they stand for.
What are your thoughts on this?
The emotional weightage of this scene in Dhurandhar is so high which you understand later in the film
Indian Spies in Dhurandhar:
Nah but I did not see the twist of Jameel Jamali being an Indian Spy coming at all.
