DeLonghi espresso machine…

I got this machine today. I dont know anything about these, but I have always been intrigued. The person who donated it left a note on it that said the grinder needs serviced. Im confident I can fix it or at least diagnose the problem. It was $19.99 after discount. Its looking like a keeper 😄

Replacing inner silicone tube

Hi everyone,

The inner silicone tube is broken on my Delonghi dedica. I want to replace it, but I can’t seem to find how those little metal pieces on the end will fit on (see photo)! They seem to be bought without the metal pieces. I have previously tried to remove them from another piece but with no success, so I don’t see how I will put them onto the new tube! Does anyone know what to do?

51mm Tamper doesn't fit. What did I do wrong?

I’m really frustrated. I just bought a new 51mm stainless steel tamper for my De'Longhi Dedica EC685.M. Based on my research and my own measurements, the stock filter basket is supposed to be 51mm, but the tamper simply doesn't fit.

Does anyone know why this is happening or have a recommendation for a tamper that actually fits this machine?

Coming to a used Dinamica from about four years of a Nespresso Vertuo. Any tips?

Nespresso pods are nice but they are getting too expensive. I took apart my estate sale Dinamica and currently have the non-electrical parts on my kitchen table after giving it a good brush and clean. The inner most part of the grinder was a pain to clean with brushes and q-tips. The inner ring looks like it’s a ring of hair or thread which seems to floof outwards the more I dug a q-tip in there. Is that going to be a problem? I’m waiting on some new lube and O-rings for the infuser before putting it all back together for a test run.

Any tips for a first time user?

DeLonghi La Specialista Maestro - descaling won't engage

Hi, I have a La Specialista Maestro since december 2025. After some usage the descaling icon lit up and I wanted to go through the process. I have my chemicals, I've added water but when i'm pressing the descaling button, the icon blinks for couple of seconds and then nothing happens, the icon turns solid again.

Tried power cycling, holding OK, holding OK + My. Water level is ok, tray is empty. Nothing helps. Is there something I'm missing or do I have a faulty unit?

Why is my espresso puck so wet after the shot?

After pulling a shot, my puck comes out really wet and soggy. I suspect channeling might be the issue, but I’m not 100% sure. Could it be grind size, tamping, or something else? Happy to share more details about my setup if needed.

Delonghi Rivelia repairability and maintenance

My Breville Barista Express died after seven years of light use (one shot on weekdays, two on weekends). I haven’t been able to find any specialized Breville service shops here in Montreal, and it seems impossible to order or buy Breville parts locally.

So, my question…

I’m tempted by the De’Longhi Rivelia and I’m curious about your experience with getting De’Longhi machines repaired or maintained. Is it possible to order parts and do light maintenance yourself? And what has your experience been with service from local shops or directly from De’Longhi?

Thanks!

Delonghi ECAM buzzing

Hey everyone, just got my first coffee machine recently. When I started the pump, there was a short buzzing sound (you can hear it at 0:14). Is this normal, or should I consider returning it?

DeLonghi Dedica: A shiny piece of junk with a built-in expiration date

This machine is a total failure in engineering. It worked for exactly 2 years until the warranty expired, and now it’s just a flashing brick that refuses to engage the pump.

The manual is a complete joke. it tells you to open the steam dial to "cool the boiler" when all icons flash, but that’s impossible because the machine won't even start the pump or heating element until it passes its own "self-test." You can’t cool down a machine that is already cold and won't let you use the steam wand in the first place.

Struggling to dial in [DeLonghi La Specialista Opera]. Output always too much

Struggling to dial in [Delonghi La Specialista Opera]

Hi all!

I’m struggling to dial in my De'Longhi La Specialista Opera and I’m getting really inconsistent results.

I usually make cappuccinos (about 4–5 per week), so I’m not going through beans very quickly.

Here’s what’s happening:

Using \~17-18g dose (weighed)

Tried grind settings 2 and 3 (out of 15 so its fine)

Grind 2 → too slow (24g in 30s (tastes bad) total \~74g in 65s if I let it run)

Grind 3 → way too fast (48g in 23s, starts okay then gushes)

First drip usually around 10 seconds

Pucks often wet

I ALWAYS get around 60-70g output...

Before this, I was using beans that were about 2 months old (no roast date), so I suspect that may have caused issues.

Now I’m planning to switch to fresh beans.

The taste is always thin... soury, bittery at the same time! Not a real coffee flavour. The beans smell amazing an the espresso.. just does not.

My questions:

\-Is this just a beans issue, or could something be wrong with my grinder/machine?

\-Is it normal that one grind setting chokes and the next one gushes? (stepped grinder limitation?)

\-Any tips specifically for this machine to get more consistent shots?

\- How do I get this machine to stop at 35-40 grams by itself?

I’m not chasing perfect espresso—just a reliable base for cappuccino without wasting tons of beans.

Thanks a lot!

Edit: I have some knowledge on grinding coarser to make it run quicker it and finer to slow it down.. but my machine does not let me apply my knowledge😂

Delonghi Truebrew

I have tried to be positive about this machine. I have cleaned it countless times after only one to two cups of great coffee because it was worth the sacrifice.
I have called their Tech Support people several times with no real help until I spoke with a Supervisor who agreed to send me an updated model as I’ve owned mine for only a couple of weeks. When he looked up my serial number on my unit it was one of the first models from 2023 and of course Amazon is still selling it. The only real upgrade is that they added a red drip tray that sits under the infuser. Other than that they have abandoned this machine instead of fixing the horrible messiness that plagues it after a cup or two of delicious coffee. The freshly ground coffee that this machine produces is outstanding in my book and I have been grinding my own coffee for a while now and quickly discovered that fresh ground coffee beans taste soooooo much better than pods…DeLonghi has moved on to their more expensive machines and have done nothing to fix the messy bugs in the Truebrew which is a damn shame since they still sell it for up to six-hundred bucks.
The new one will be arriving next week and for now I continue to clean this machine until the new one arrives but other than the new drip tray catching a little more water dripping from the infuser I’m still going to be cleaning the messy grounds being flung all over the machine from the infuser arm throwing the pucks to the catch bin which is designed too low which is an obvious area for improvement which they neglected to address. I’m going to include a video or two from my last experience this morning. I’m now stuck with this machine which was given to me as a gift with no recourse. Any suggestions would be welcomed, especially if anyone has a fix of any kind as this machine still makes a great cup of coffee…

$350 for used DeLonghi Dinamica Plus Connected Coffee Espresso System? (missing milk cup)

Hi, someone that I kind of know, (not enough to trust), is selling their's for $350usd. Is this a good price? He sent me a video and it seems to work. What should I look for when inspecting it? What questions should I ask? I just msged them asking where/when purchased, if they have receipt/ppwk/box.
