Disable CPU boost to increase your iGPU core clock.

Disable CPU boost to increase your iGPU core clock.

I did a video on it. Didn't make a huge difference in this case, but if you have a high base clock CPU and your iGPU is throttling, it will be beneficial to disable CPU Boost on GPU intensive games. It also lowers heat a good bit which can also help stop throttling.

Laptops benefit from this. It is unlikely to help a desktop.

Is this good for „Low End 1080p“

XEON X3470
H55 Board
20GB RAM
LLVMPipe

got 20fps in Turok 2 remastered with LLVMPipe because there is a GTX 770 GPU without drivers, so the gpu is only a jacky HDMI Slot.

it’s insane that a 16 years old CPU perform that well on a OS. On Windows it’s not thinkable.

with the RX 590, will this rig actually be viable for low-end 1080p gaming? Maybe even 1440p since it's hooked up to a 3440x1440p UWQHD monitor? The card has FreeSync and those legendary 'FineWine' drivers baked right into the kernel, after all.

I finally got an upgrade from my athlon sliver 3050u laptop

finally got my much needed upgrade from my athlon sliver 3050u laptop with integrated graphics and only 4 gigs of ram. I got a new pc which is not the best of the best, but what i indured in that laptop this is heaven. Got a r5 5500,
8gigs of ram ddr4 ( I will make it 16 after the price goes down), An asrock RX 550 4gb ddr5 (i know this is not the best for this price point but this was the best option where I live and i didn't have that big of a bugget), A 512gb sata SSD, And an 500w psu, The whole thing with everything was about 35k in our currency so about 380 usd.
I am currently playing elden ring a game which I wanted to play for years at this point getting about 35 to 40 fps 1080p mid settings ☺️☺️ suggest me what should I play next?

Can I even play something in it??

Mobile Intel Pentium III 1200 MHz

256 MB RAM

Mobile radeon 16 MB graphics

And of course, windows XP. (I can't even upgrade to windows Vista, and the one time I tried mandriva Linux, I didn't like it very much.)

Going strong since 2002!

Any suggestions on cool games?

Right now I have just all the half life titles, quack attack... And the windows stuff, But I'm not planning to play pinball all day.

People on tik tok are making fun of my pc

I have a Ryzen 3 1200 gtx 1650 8gb ram from the community and they say I should kill myself and play games better on my phone and that it's a disgrace to the computer. They make fun of the saying that you have to upgrade your PC every 2 years or else you paid for it for nothing. They say it's not even good for Minecraft anymore

With the current state of poor optimization, what are the true requirements for online casuals?

Hi all. I love this game since the fun4all update came out; I think I've put in 100+ hours in the last month. It runs smoothly on steam deck local or ranked online with the right settings, but I cannot get it to run well with casuals/4player-ffa/hazard-stages/items. I'm not super convinced that the fun4all update has or will be optimized, which means a much beefier computer than previous is needed. It's frustrating but if it's the only way to play the game so be it.

So 1- is there a sub-800$ laptop that can run 4-player ffa with hazards and items? Doesn't need to be turned up, I just need shadows on ("medium" shadows settings). The resolution can even be dialed down to 50%.
and 2- what's the cheapest desktop possible to run it with the same requirements? I have a fair amount of extra computer parts; I'll probably just need motherboard and processor, potentially also ram (my extra parts come from a ten year old really nice i7 desktop that I was just gifted, that randomly has a 3070).

(NOTE: I know how to find the required and recommended settings on Steam; I'm saying that I don't believe them, and don't see any sort of optimization timeline or roadmap, so am interested in upgrading to be able to play on the go.)
