With the current state of poor optimization, what are the true requirements for online casuals?
Hi all. I love this game since the fun4all update came out; I think I've put in 100+ hours in the last month. It runs smoothly on steam deck local or ranked online with the right settings, but I cannot get it to run well with casuals/4player-ffa/hazard-stages/items. I'm not super convinced that the fun4all update has or will be optimized, which means a much beefier computer than previous is needed. It's frustrating but if it's the only way to play the game so be it.
So 1- is there a sub-800$ laptop that can run 4-player ffa with hazards and items? Doesn't need to be turned up, I just need shadows on ("medium" shadows settings). The resolution can even be dialed down to 50%.
and 2- what's the cheapest desktop possible to run it with the same requirements? I have a fair amount of extra computer parts; I'll probably just need motherboard and processor, potentially also ram (my extra parts come from a ten year old really nice i7 desktop that I was just gifted, that randomly has a 3070).
(NOTE: I know how to find the required and recommended settings on Steam; I'm saying that I don't believe them, and don't see any sort of optimization timeline or roadmap, so am interested in upgrading to be able to play on the go.)
