I’m a single guy with no kids. I understand the dangers of having rogue authorities/creepers tracking/stalking the movements of women/children for nefarious reasons. And as a society we shouldn’t allow that. But as a single guy who doesn’t do anything illegal, why else should I be worried?

Places to eat in Nashville

I didn’t get to do much during Mother’s Day, was gonna take hubby and baby out though.

I’m pretty sick of burgers, steaks, mexican food, and overpriced sushi.

Anywhere yall like that’s in Nashville?
Figured maybe I need to drive further out for some diversity.

Looking for local charter schools and best areas to live….

I’ve been researching schools for my 11th grader and 7th grader as we prepare to relocate from Long Island to the Clarksville area this summer before the new school year, and I’d really appreciate honest local insight.

Both of my kids are currently high-achieving students in AP/Honors-level coursework. My younger child has an IEP, but is currently in a transitional program and is expected to be fully mainstreamed for 8th grade next year. Academically, he does very well.

One of my biggest priorities is maintaining strong academic standards and finding schools that offer:
• AP/Honors tracks
• Dual enrollment opportunities
• Strong college prep
• Good support services
• Safe environment/community

I’ve looked into public, charter, magnet, and private options, but I’m finding mixed reviews, and many application periods seem to have already closed.

Additionally, we’re looking for:
• Safe family-oriented area
• 3+ bedroom / 2 bath home
• Budget around $2,500/month (preferably less if possible)

I work in the medical field, and from what I’m seeing, I may end up commuting toward Nashville for work since opportunities in my specialty seem more limited directly in Clarksville. The commute honestly doesn’t scare me much since I’m coming from Long Island and previously commuted daily into Queens and the Bronx.

For locals:
• What school districts or specific schools would you recommend for academically driven students?
• Are there charter/private schools worth pursuing this late in the year?
• Are there specific neighborhoods/suburbs I should focus on or avoid?
• Is the commute toward Nashville realistically manageable long term?

Any advice from parents, teachers, or locals would genuinely help.

Thanks so much..

Currently stationed in El Paso. We have the option of picking Fort Campbell or Co Springs next year. My husband is a physician & major- could promote soon.

Which location would you recommend? Our family is on the east coast, we have kids, we love being outdoors, we miss the greenery. We are easy going, we make friends easily & up for outdoor adventures.

We have never been to either location.

Edit*** my kids will be 2 & 4. And only stay for a few years. So schools aren’t a concern for us.

I haven’t been to a movie since before Covid. I was going to try to go see Mortal Kombat in Clarksville. How is the newish theater in the mall? Is it better than the one on Trenton and tiny town? The last movie I saw there was like avengers endgame so it’s been a while. I also have an unreasonable fear of going to movies by myself, which is why I haven’t been in almost 10 years. So if anybody would like to go to the movies or knows anything about those movie theaters, let me know. Doesn’t matter who you are not looking for a date just somebody to sit in a seat, not be annoying, not on your phone, and can talk movies before during the ads and trailers. I will buy two or three seats anyway so people aren’t sitting right next to me that I don’t know. I know that’s weird and makes no sense but cool bye. Im a guy by the way, if that matters.

Jobs for a 14 year old?

I’ve been looking for a job for about a month now, and obviously its been shitty bcus my options are very limited as a 14 yo. I got lucky and managed to get an interview at Captain D’s last month, but i guess i got it too early because the manager said she typically only hires 14-15 year olds in the summer.

I waited for school to end to start applying again (which it recently ended) and i, once again, need help finding a job. So if you know anyplace that hires at 14, please let me know!

Hey everyone, I just moved to this area. Wondering where I can go here to make new friends as I don’t know anyone. Where are the fun hangout spots for mid twenties here? I’m 26/F, single mama. Looking to maybe meet a partner but also some friends. TIA

Apartment recommendations in Clarksville

My wife and I are looking for a place to rent in Clarksville. I start barber school soon and we are moving from out of state. We’ve looked into a few spots. Autumn winds and Professional Park Townhomes are a few of the ones we’ve checked out. Any thoughts on these, and any recommendations/ places to stay away from?

Alright Let's take it back.

We're back with sandwiches. Todays is kewpie sriracha with pickled onions and banana peppers, cheddar, feta, ham, and turkey on white.

Are there any neighborhoods with trees around here? Every neighborhood we've looked at has no trees. The brand new build neighborhoods I understand but there are several where the houses were built over 10 years ago & there's like 1 tree in the whole neighborhood. It's so weird to me.

Does anyone know this man? He scammed me out of $3,000 promising me custom cabinetry on Facebook marketplace. He operates under the name William Threet, but it is a stolen identity of someone who has passed away. Posting so others are aware. He scammed another person out of $4,500. Be careful!

Thought on Clarksville Academy?

I recently did a tour of Clarksville Academy to send my kids there, and I have to say I was kind of disappointed of actually seeing the school. The school is kinda rundown. Anybody here send their kids to this private school? We also looked at our Clarksville Christian school, but they don’t really have a sports program except basketball. I have a four year-old seven year-old and 13 year-old. I tried to look around and find reviews for the school, but there really isn’t much out there. Everyone seemed friendly enough there. But it kind of seemed like a front was just looking for advice from anybody who’s actually sent their kids there or went there

What’s the going rate for a good babysitter in the area? Specifically someone watching baby in their (the sitter’s) home, sitter being an adult with years of experience, a masters degree in a child-related field, and cpr certification.

I moved here from out of state a year ago and have gone through 2 new patient appointments that I had to book 3 months out each time just to be told that they won’t prescribe stimulants. One of the doctors at least referred me to a doctor that specializes in mental health but turns out that office called me to get me scheduled for an appointment and they informed that they don’t even prescribe stimulants either. I wanted to scream when they told me that!

My backstory: I was clinically diagnosed with ADHD over 10 years ago by a psychiatrist I had been seeing every 3 months since my diagnosis. I have religiously been taking my medication everyday since. It has made such a huge impact on my quality of life and helped me tremendously.

I’m just at a loss of what to do. Any advice or anyone with any similar experiences is greatly appreciated.

Hey yall, I was wondering if yall know bout any places I could volunteer at.

My kid is needing occupational therapy 3x a week, and possibly more, and with school, I decided to drop down to part time at Walmart. That being said, I’m trying to figure out stuff I can do just to give back or some 💩 like that. I like cooking for people, love it honestly. So maybe something centered around that?

Or even another part time that can fit a 6am-3pm schedule. That’d be cool too, I just want it to go towards something and be somewhat meaningful.

I don’t have a record lol, I’m 21f, and I can’t drive too far especially with how much the gas is going up. Located near Tennova.
