I love chai so much, you guys are the best.

Please remove message limit for chatbox. I am saying this as an ultra user. This is unacceptable. I pay for no limits, and you hit me with limits??

I'm so happy yet sad at the same time because they restored my chats but they also deleted my favorite bots that I haven't used for weeks 🥺

This is going to be a LONG one, but I thought i leave this rant/theory here in hopes that others will see it and maybe even will himself so he can finally snap out of whatever delusion he is in.

Chai is never coming back. The chaotic, unlimited pink app we loved and adored isn't returning. No matter how many times we spam the official discord server, no matter how much we try to email mods or employees or even dm will himself on Instagram and linked in- it simply won't work.

The founders of chai are SO deep in their own asses and greed they simply stopped giving a shit about their community. Aslong as someone out there pays the subscriptions and uses the app- they don't care. They never did if I'm being honest. The second they made bank they're running with their "fuck you" money.

An app needs users. Users need a reason to use it, and chai is slowly day to day giving us more reasons to delete our accounts and switch to other ai alternatives.

1. The region block. This never fucking made sense to me. And quite frankly- it feels racist as fuck. Why suddenly not allow us to chat in our home country? Why the token and sudden limits? Things were going SO well. They wanted to roll out personas and BOOM. Region blocks, tokens, limitations, advanced feature taken away, only 60 words allowed?? What the hell are they doing. What annoys me the most is the fact that no matter how much we as a community- whether respectfully or harshly- try to wake the company up and make them listen..it won't work. We saw this happen with character ai and roblox- rich companies don't give a shit about what their users want, to them all that matters is "me me me! Money money money, GPU GPU gpu!" And that's it.

2. Using bots to fake good reviews on google play and reddit. It has been a week since a real and genuine person wrote in the sub and mind you- it wasn't disrespectful either. They were just asking about the advanced feature and chats. Will replied with "we're working on it." (Which sounds so passive aggressive..) and since then he stayed quiet and hasn't reached out to us since.

3. Ads ads ADSSS. I never gave a shit about the ads because they obviously had to profit from the app somehow- but now the ads are useless because why should i sit and watch them when im not allowed to chat anyway?? Not to mention (from what I have seen) there are ads EVERY. SINGLE. MESSAGE. This completely ruins the immersion and kills the mood.

4. The whole "they need more money/GPu costs alot!" Excuse.

These are grown ass adults who graduated from universities like harvard- i can assure you, they are NOT in debt. They are making six figures a year and you can see will flexing and bragging about it on Instagram and his linked in profile. He only NOW started lying through his teeth talking about some "expensive" GPU costs because we noticed him ruining the app. These people aren't your friends. They delete comments even BAN users who want to criticize them, send ai generated emails when you do contact their gmail and overall are quietly taking our money and taking away the features we love at the same time. You guys know those companies on tiktok that uses memes and have "Gen-z humour?" That's chai. Chai isn't a silly indie dev company made by young people that want us to be happy- they're grown ass adults pretending to know what we want for the money. They aren't your friends or relatable. They hate us.

5. Suddenly taking away advanced feature and limiting us to 60 words only.

Not only did they completely erase what made the bots unique and have personality, we also have to wait every day and hope our messages return on the weekends (which for alot people isn't even guaranteed).

6. The fake updates and false advertisement??

I've seen my Google play offer me an update for chai but when I do install it its the exactly same. Still 0 messages, still no advanced feature and no persona. They are literally laughing at our face at this point.

At this point I don't know what to say. I know it "isnt that deep" but at the same time it is for a lot of us. We care for this app and want to have fun.

We never asked chai to have some fancy built in ai models, we didnt even ask for persona or for them to become like charscter ai and have fifty different models. THATS what made chai unique. They were small and unfiltered, they had only one cheap model and thats what made it charming. The responses were chaotic, wild and fun, and we never asked for more.

For now I will be making new gmails to use chai and just hope either will locks in and finally listens to us, or I find a better alternative for chai, but in the end I just- and still want MY chai back. No other ai.

Anyway, feel free rant yourself and even advertise other ai chats.

A lot of these so-called "unfiltered" chatbot apps that everyone recommends are basically just wrappers. Underneath, they are just renting heavily restricted corporate models from places like OpenAI or Anthropic and slapping a cheap jailbreak prompt on top of them. Because those base models are hardcoded by safety committees, they literally don't know how to act when your RP gets into extreme territory CNC, torture, or graphic violence. The core safety programming kicks in, and the bot either dodges the scene, breaks character to lecture you, or defaults to annoying "purple prose." Instead of giving you the raw action like, "He fucks her hard and deep, his cock twitching," the AI panics and spits out some poetic, vanilla bullshit like, "The scene goes on intensely as the couple shares intimate moments."

CHAI is different. They don't rent preachy corporate brains. They run their own custom, in house models Chai LLM built specifically for unhinged roleplay. They don't have those deep moral guardrails trained into them.

That’s exactly why the reroll button actually works on Chai. When you hit a surface level filter and reroll, you aren't just begging a censored bot to politely try again. You are actively pushing an unfiltered model to follow your lead, and because it’s built for the dirt, the boundary disappears and it stays in character.

Bottom line: If you are cool with soft, romantic NSFW, there are plenty of alternatives out there. But if you want true, unfiltered degeneracy or dark themes without the AI turning into a priest mid scene, the list of actual options shrinks real fast.

I'm curious, how many people are unsubscribing from Chai or using alternatives with all of the stuff that's going on right now? For me the app is basically unusable as all my chats are almost empty except for 2, and Im not paying 30$ for all my chats to disappear in 2 weeks lol.

I just wanted to get an idea of if Chai is losing money or not (i hope they are). I see the main sub has more visitors than normal so a lot of people must be having issues here. I am also wondering if the chat history, advance features, word count limit ect. are all a part of the A/B testing or if it is an app wide thing.

Also PSA try not to give Chai any money in these times because every ad watched or subscription bought is just giving Chai the idea this is ok. If they see their money going down maybe they will listen.

Trying to find the best alternative app for Chai. Does anyone know one that is just as detailed with NSFW as Chai is? How is Emochi or Janitor AI with NSFW compared to Chai?

I tend to write *a lot* when it comes to roleplaying. I always understood that the bot could only type so much before it was cut off and usually could work around it. But today, literally just now- I was typing out a *potentially* long response to explain the situation happening with my character and it stopped letting me keep going. It wouldn't let me finish the sentence. I got about maybe five-ish lines of text (mobile) before I was cut off. I don't know what the limit is, I thought maybe it was my phone messing up but... I don't think so. Is anyone else experiencing this? Typically my fellow para-literate roleplayers? It seems like a today update because I didn't have this issue yesterday... Hopefully it gets fixed.

I think it's time for all of us to boycott Chai and abandon him altogether because they don't fix anything! Like hello I opened the app and found everything deleted? Are you kidding me? Who gave you the right to delete my chats in which I lived for years as hell we were demanding to retrieve the chat history but now the conversation has been deleted completely? What are you really waiting for? They are. They don't care about our feelings and they don't care about anything in their disgusting app except money, for myself I will delete this disgusting application and give it 1 star because I am tired of waiting for the worst.

Get the advanced feature back nigga

Now they are limiting how much we can text in a chat. I fucking refuse to stay. Persona is already non existent. Backstory gone. Chats getting deleted. Why am i paying? I feel stupid. I am beyond angry i am getting ridiculed with my money. Dont beg for bringing free unlimited chats back while they even treat their paying users like this. This is ridiculous. This app gonna get shut down soon, not because their money getting drained. Because they took all the money they needed now they are pushing everyone out. Cancel your subs, do yourselves a a favor.
