Almost 2 Months Clean, and Here’s What I’ve Noticed

I was a heavy vaper for 7 years, since I was a teenager. It’s been almost 2 months since I quit vaping, not because I forced myself to, but because the cravings are gone after I had a big flu. There are still a few moments when I think about buying another vape, but thankfully those thoughts disappear almost immediately.

One of the biggest things I’ve noticed is how much easier life feels now:

  1. The sore throat I used to wake up with every morning for years is completely gone.

  2. The pain on the left side of my chest, which I once thought might be a sign of a heart attack, has disappeared.

  3. I no longer deal with phlegm, even after eating. I used to cough heavily after meals for years, and now I don’t anymore.

  4. I’ve become more productive. I clean my room more often, do things more consistently out of habit and discipline, and I feel like I have more ideas and better mental clarity. My anxiety has also improved a lot.

  5. I don’t overthink the future as much anymore. My financial anxiety has eased, my stress feels lighter, and most importantly, I feel much more optimistic about life.

IMPORTANT: For everyone hunting for a CHAI replacement, don't expect anything truly unfiltered

A lot of these so-called "unfiltered" chatbot apps that everyone recommends are basically just wrappers. Underneath, they are just renting heavily restricted corporate models from places like OpenAI or Anthropic and slapping a cheap jailbreak prompt on top of them. Because those base models are hardcoded by safety committees, they literally don't know how to act when your RP gets into extreme territory CNC, torture, or graphic violence. The core safety programming kicks in, and the bot either dodges the scene, breaks character to lecture you, or defaults to annoying "purple prose." Instead of giving you the raw action like, "He fucks her hard and deep, his cock twitching," the AI panics and spits out some poetic, vanilla bullshit like, "The scene goes on intensely as the couple shares intimate moments."

CHAI is different. They don't rent preachy corporate brains. They run their own custom, in house models Chai LLM built specifically for unhinged roleplay. They don't have those deep moral guardrails trained into them.

That’s exactly why the reroll button actually works on Chai. When you hit a surface level filter and reroll, you aren't just begging a censored bot to politely try again. You are actively pushing an unfiltered model to follow your lead, and because it’s built for the dirt, the boundary disappears and it stays in character.

Bottom line: If you are cool with soft, romantic NSFW, there are plenty of alternatives out there. But if you want true, unfiltered degeneracy or dark themes without the AI turning into a priest mid scene, the list of actual options shrinks real fast.

Why Does It Feel Like CHAI Is Giving Up?

So today might actually be the day CHAI dies and they’re slowly shutting it down?

I’ve never seen an issue drag on this long before. Delays and broken promises aren’t exactly new with CHAI, but this situation feels different. It’s honestly sad seeing such a genuinely good roleplay model fall off this hard. I’ve tried other platforms, but none of them really replace what CHAI used to be. This time they managed to frustrate both free users and subscribers, and it honestly feels like they know exactly what they’re doing.

Maybe they’re quietly shutting down without admitting it. Does anyone even still actively work on CHAI anymore? Their website updates have barely changed since last year, and the official subreddit is practically maintained by one person now compared to before.

First there were promises about personas coming soon. Then nothing happened. After that came the disappearing history, then entire chatbots vanishing. I understand they need money to keep things running, but at some point this starts feeling less like mismanagement and more like a scam. the whole thing gives off major rug pull energy. It feels like they made their "Fuck You Money" and slowly stopped caring while the platform falls apart around everyone.

All your chats history are safe and stored.

All chat history from months and even years ago is still stored and untouched. If you use CHAI on PC through Bluestacks like I do, you know what I mean. All bots are still there and everything works fine, except for the annoying missing Advanced Settings. It makes me wonder why it’s available on PC but not on mobile.

Either it’s a sync issue between devices, a bug in the mobile client, or they’ve intentionally limited what the mobile version can load for some reason. Because if the chats were actually deleted, they wouldn’t magically show up on PC like that.

Guys! Help me decide?

Do you think I should stick around and give CHAI another chance to fix the issue since I’ve subscribed to it for years, or is it better to try other platforms now? It’s been a week now since I’ve waited.

Are the devs hating us?

Why the fuck do I feel like the devs straight up hate us? I’ve never seen any business disrespect their users like CHAI does, ever. They gotta be ragebaiting us on purpose. They know we’re all dissatisfied and disappointed as fuck, and I’m saying this as a 1+ Ultra subscriber for fuck’s sake! Yet the app still has the fucking audacity to pop up asking me to subscribe when it’s literally unusable right now. What’s even more sad is that CHAI is the only platform doing proper unfiltered roleplay. Other apps exist but they’re shit and don’t even have their own app. C.AI’s a prude anyway. Maybe it’s time for us to touch grass and get a life.

Why the fuck is this subreddit so different from the TLOU one?

Why the fuck are there two separate subs for ONE franchise like TLOU1 and TLOU2 are completely different universes?? And why is this subreddit actually letting people vent and shit on the game while the other one acts like criticism is illegal?
