10 reasons I'd buy my MX-5 Miata again without hesitation

I see a lot of "should I get a Miata?" posts here and I wanted to give some real ownership perspective. I've had my ND2 MX-5 for a year now as my daily driver. Here's what actually makes this car worth it beyond what reviews tell you.

  • The driving feel is unmatched at this price. Steering has zero delay. Combined with 1,060 kg, every corner feels like a go-kart.
  • It revs like it's having fun. 184 hp means you can rev to the limit without breaking the law.
  • The manual is the best I've ever used. Short throws, light clutch. Even in city traffic all day.
  • It doesn't break. Salvage title, shipped across the ocean, 10,000 km of hard driving. Only oil changes.
  • It fits anywhere. I park in spots that SUV drivers stare at and drive past.
  • People love it. Kids think it's a Lamborghini. Other MX-5 owners wave. Gets more attention than cars 5x the price.

What sealed the deal for you on your car? I made a full video going through all 10 things https://youtu.be/Fggm5isDSUc

what’s the ‘holy grail’ sleeper platform under $3k?

looking for a project sleeper with a max budget of $3k, something cheap to buy but with strong potential. priorities are a solid engine or easy swap options, a decent-sized engine bay, good aftermarket support, and the ability to make serious power while still looking low-key and boring on the outside. not trying to build something flashy, more like a car that blends in but can actually move. what platforms would you consider the goat for this kind of build?
