ive a long term mr2 project was running but now loom is coming out and electrics are being overhauled, while thats ongoing I've scooted it over so i can work thru the carb & timing on my xr400 this weekend. ive been using them for years to shift cars into awkward spots hell i dragged this one round our yard to make space in the shop for the daily a few times, id probably spring for the type that you dont have to jack up the car for when i need to buy them again though, jacking every time is a pain but such is cheapskate life
We have a number of Zoller tool management systems on site and I've been asked to look into getting another one for a new cell. My manager has asked me to prop up the justification with the benefit of application to fixturing. We have a palletised line feeding mandrels onto 5axis mill turns so keeping track of mandrels and their usage is important and additional data on their use would be helpful.
However I'm struggling to find any information on any system that links to anything other than cutting tools.
Apparently we have a similar system that holds fixture data however is not linked to any type of RFID system as such has to be updated manually and is in the words of the only engineer who knows anything about it said 'a glorified spreadsheet' I only got a 5min chat with him before he went on holiday for a week.
Zollars technical support had no idea what i was talking about over the phone so I am waiting for our site rep to give me a call on Monday.
But even so I'm still struggling to find anything on the systems they offer beyond specific cutting tool related machines any info / leads / a machining related joke to cheer me up, would all be greatly appreciated
