Share Your Ingress Methods

As a tech, I wanted to ask how you guys are doing ingress checks from the TAP to the ground block. What factors are you mainly looking at during the check?

Also, during ingress scans, are you checking only with the modem disconnected, or do you also test under live traffic conditions while the modem is online and transmitting upstream?

Trying to see how other techs approach difficult intermittent ingress cases and what methods work best for you guys.

Best IPTV Provider in the USA, UK & Canada for 2026: Reddit Picks & Final Verdict

My Experience With ReliableView.TV After 3 Months

I had nearly given up on IPTV-style streaming services after dealing with the same issues again and again: buffering, unreliable access, missing channels, poor setup instructions, and support teams that disappeared after payment.

After trying ReliableView.TV for three months, I wanted to share a general overview of my experience for anyone researching streaming options in 2026.

What Stood Out

Stable performance
Streams loaded quickly in my day-to-day use, and the overall experience felt more consistent than other services I had tested.

Simple setup
Getting started was straightforward on popular devices such as Firestick, Smart TVs, Android devices, iPhone, and iPad. I did not need advanced technical knowledge to get everything working.

Good picture quality
On compatible devices and a strong internet connection, the picture quality was sharp and smooth.

Organized interface
Categories were easy to browse, and the layout made it simple to find content without jumping through too many menus.

Responsive support
Support was more helpful than I expected. Live chat replies were quick, and ticket responses came within a reasonable amount of time.

What to Check Before Signing Up

Before choosing any IPTV or streaming provider, make sure the service is licensed to offer the content in your region. It is also worth testing support, checking device compatibility, and starting with a short trial before committing to a longer subscription.

Final Thoughts

After three months of use, ReliableView.TV felt more polished and dependable than many similar services I have tried. The setup was simple, the performance was consistent, and support was responsive.

For anyone comparing streaming providers in 2026, it may be worth researching further — just make sure you confirm content rights, regional availability, and service terms before subscribing.

My dad thinks the Internet is being spliced into his neighbor's

Howdy all! I have no idea what I'm doing and am in need of your expertise.

I recently helped my dad switch to Spectrum. He went out back to check the cables and they had cut the old orange cable (see pic 2). I don't know what that one was for. He lives in a duplex, and he knows the neighbor had spectrum already, so based on the way the new orange cable + the white cable + the splitter are connected, he thinks that the Spectrum guy set them both up to share a connection. I am doubtful that it works the way he's assuming it does, but I don't know enough to dispute it.

Does he have a legitimate concern, or is everything working how it's supposed to? I don't want to say he's paranoid, but he is getting a bit fixated on it and I want to put his mind at ease. If anyone can explain this in a way I can understand (and then relay to him in a way he can understand) I would greatly appreciate it.

I hate this dog shit company. They only care about numbers and not the people who are trying to survive living in this shit hole economy. Im tired of being taken advantage of by management. If a dumb ass customer calls back I have to go deal with the job again and do twice the work thats unpaid on my days off. Doesn't matter if the problem was because of the plant, or the shit equipment they supply customers or a fucking remote, I still have to take responsibility for horrible customers and their issues. Not only that, but also I have to deal with a bull shit feed back system that ruins my image if someone accidently gave me 1 instead of a 10 or if they felt like I wasnt doing enough to save their whole enterprise from collapse because they didn't have an it company on standby. All of this just for a whopping 600 dollars per week of production pay. What a fucking disgrace. Meanwhile the execs are just sitting in their golden recliners making 6 figures doing absolutely fuck all.

What’s the difference between T3 and T4 timeouts I went to a customer‘s house right now and they had everything replaced but the drop, they were getting multiple T3 timeouts within the past 24 hours. I was the third tech to be out there within a month, but I had no access to the ped so they had to reschedule.

Hey everyone,

I’m currently going through the interview process for Residential Installation & Service Technician in central Florida.

After having a first round interview with a recruiter, I have a second interview with what looks to be a few managers from the location I’ll be based out of. Just asking to see if anyone has any advice for passing the interview. The job is supposed to be entry level although I’m sure there is some level of competitiveness.

Thanks!

We recently are gaining a decent sized foothold on medium to large scale projects in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Looking to start a network of technicians interested in working with us on upcoming opportunities.

Feel free to DM!

IMHO hiding STB behind the TV was not the smartest thing we were forsed to do back in a day. 💡

Actually there were not any problems with the remote control. But normally one would like to see STB indicators (our STB has only On/Off green/red LED) and to have access to HDMI or RJ45 ports)

I’m looking for a couple of reliable techs to help out part-time on some upcoming [commercial/residential] infrastructure jobs. Mostly, e.g., pulling Cat6, hanging APs, and dressing racks.

The deal: I’m looking for W-2 employees, not 1099. I’m not interested in "gig" guys who disappear after a week. I need people who show up on time, have their own basic hand tools/transport, and actually give a damn about how their cable management looks.

The schedule: Flexible. Good for guys who want extra hours on top of their 9-5 or anyone looking for a steady part-time gig.

The pay: I don’t post a flat rate because it depends on what you actually know how to do. If you’re a pro who can terminate fiber and build out a closet, we’ll talk one number. If you’re still learning the ropes, we’ll talk another. I'm fair, but I pay for performance.

Be trustable and be able to pass a background and fingerprinting.

If you’re interested, shoot me a DM. Tell me what you've worked on.

DM me your experience and we can talk numbers. I'm not going to low-ball a guy who knows his stuff.
