Sup everyone, I’ve decided to make meat pies/empanadas to give out to students cause food prices are high. Anyone down to try before I go through with packing them for campus?

I’ve been wanting to pack food for students when I start this August. Between the cost of classes, food, and parking; I think we’d all like a little relief.

I’ve been making meat pies lately and perfecting them while adding my fusion. I’ve picked up a lot of recipes between the years due to my spouse and I culture swapping.

The meat pies are Turkey meat with Anaheim chili, green and red pepper, diced onion, minced garlic, and I made a roux my mom used to make. I let the meat marinate those flavors. I made the pie crust from scratch in two different ways.

One is like a flaky butter biscuit. The other is more of a traditional empanada.

So far my friends say it slaps, but I wanted to see if others would like to try some?

I’m not selling to students, they’ll be free for others who are hungry/interested.

I make my money back for ingredients by selling outside of campus/passive income I have that lets me chill

CSULB vs SJSU — I’m stuck 😭 (housing, social life, independence??)

Hi guys, I’m a senior from LA trying to decide between California State University, Long Beach and San José State University and I’m honestly stuck 😭 I was admitted for Communication but I’m planning to switch into interior design and eventually build my own business (like combining design, branding, and entrepreneurship), so I care a lot about both opportunities and overall lifestyle. For CSULB, the pros are the location (near the beach, LA, so much to do), the campus is beautiful, and it has strong programs and a creative environment, but I honestly don’t love that it’s so close to home because I feel like I won’t fully get that independence or “new chapter” experience, and the housing situation is stressing me out BAD since it’s not guaranteed and I really want to dorm, plus the campus is huge and I feel like I’d get lost and I’ve heard socially it can feel kind of quiet or commuter-heavy unless you really try. For SJSU, I like that it’s far from home so I’d actually be forced to grow and be independent, and being in Silicon Valley seems really good for internships, networking, and future business opportunities, and everything is close together with stuff always happening downtown, but the area can feel a little unsafe at times and I don’t know if I see myself there for all 4 years or if I’d get bored. Overall I want somewhere I can live on campus, build a strong friend group, have a fun social life (not crazy but like I want to go out sometimes lol), and also set myself up for my future, so right now I feel like CSULB = better vibe, campus, and lifestyle but risky housing and too close to home, while SJSU = better independence, opportunities, and growth but environment concerns, so if anyone has honest experience with housing chances, social life, or design/business paths at either school I’d really appreciate it 😭

Failing MAE 373 and MAE 371

it genuinely pisses me off that I might fail these 2 classes. 373 I have a higher chance of passing, assuming my professor (Parvin Shariat) curves and i do decent on the final exam (I have a 37 percent and a 48 percent on the exams, with 100s in hw) but genuinely I wish the worst for Neda Karami. Genuinely the worst and most insufferable teacher ive had. I dont know what to do if I fail

BIO 260 STATS

Hi guys, I had a question. I am trying to get into BIO 260 STATS, but I wasn't able to get waitlisted. I am undeclared a bio major as of now until fall. My friends who are also undeclared BIO majors weren't even able to get the class since the system told them they didn't have the requirements to take that class. I need to take BIO STATS next semester to not be behind, but I'm scared that since I'm not a declared BIO major, I won't be able to take the class. Is that true? Or is it the case where they prioritize BIO majors, then it's free to all after? 🥲🥲

I dropped my lanyard. I fell down while I was walking past the library so I don’t know if I dropped it somewhere around there or if I left it on the shuttle.

Anyone have any experience with the Single Subject teaching credential at CSULB?

I’ll be enrolled in EDSS 300 as well as the three remaining coreqs this Fall. Ideally, I’d like to complete all the preliminary AND core classes by Fall of 2027 so that I can student teach that semester, rather than student teach in spring of 2028 which is the path my counselor has me on.

My question is, do you guys think it’s realistic for someone to manage all 4 of the core classes in one semester (spring 2027)? Essentially I’d like to have all the classes completed by fall of next year so that I can student teach that semester.

Survey For Class

Hi! I have a survey for class that I need to have students enrolled in CSULB fill out, it’s very simple questions about your major and your political views, it should only take 5-10 minutes to fill out, and it would really help me out if people filled it out. Thanks! https://forms.gle/xkFPoZeWLARv2ty69

CSULB vs USC MAT — looking for real student experience

Hi everyone, I’m deciding between CSULB and USC MAT and wanted to ask about the actual student experience in these programs.

If you attended either one, how was it in terms of workload, class quality, professors, support, and student teaching/fieldwork? Did you feel the program was manageable and worth it? I’m also very concerned about employment outcomes. After finishing the program, was it relatively easy to find a teaching job?

I’d really appreciate any honest feedback. Thanks!
