This is our community and I think it would be cool to see our cars displayed on the banner.
Let's get some pictures of our cars used as the banner of our community. It will be on a rotating schedule. The first five people to share a photo will be used for this experiment.
I'm limiting this to the first five submissions on a temporary basis so we can figure out how to manage this. For example, how often we'll rotate the banner, and in what order they are selected. If a picture doesn't present well for some reason, then we'll move onto the next one.
Another determining factor is interest - we may receive no submissions, or maybe the interest will be overwhelming.
Any takers? Any opinions, thoughts or feelings on this? Does anybody want to help manage this?
Let us see how long it takes to receive the first five submissions!
EDIT: A photo has been selected based on presentation after being cropped to Reddit's dimension of 1072x128.
Let's get more pictures from the other folks who shared so I can try to work with the images.
FRC Wednesdays, hell yeah!
full headers and exhaust + Tune
summit crank hub
that cheap transmission stabilizer mount (pretty happy with that mod)
future plans for 799 or 248 heads, LS6 intake and LS6 cam. Building a modest 480 HP street machine that can hang with all NA currently roaming the streets.
my 2000 FRC
I'm on a square setup now, looking forward to some more track days this year after some cooling system upgrades and a couple other things. This is at NCM Motorsports Park, my home track.
Watching the C5-R in high school I fell in love. I fully intended to buy one after my first deployment but wound up buying a GTI VR6 and ruining my credit and driving record just fine with that little 200hp hot hatch. After fixing myself I meant to get one after my second deployment in 06/7 but decided to start a family instead and managed to at least convince the wife at the time that a B5 S4 was a “sensible” family car. After running the odometer up to 250k on that thing I got stuck in a cycle of Hondas and Hyundai’s. I finally got to a point I could splurge (besides my motorcycles of course) and found this 2003 Yellow C5 Coupe. 110k miles, 6spd, Borla exhaust, intake, and short throw shifter. It’s not perfect but it was reasonably priced and what I wanted.
This subreddit has had no activity for a few years now and I learned that it was unmoderated. Reddit granted me this community upon request. I am also a moderator of r/Chevy and r/Camaro, so I'm no stranger to our online car communities.
My next steps are to:
I would like to underscore that this community was left unmoderated with no activity and the original moderator is welcome to return, and their content will remain in the post history.
Hopefully we can restore a community set aside for C5 enthusiasts! Please join and stay tuned - hopefully the restricted status will be lifted in a day or two.
This is the beginning of Day 2 for the return of r/C5Corvette!
Many thanks to you all for a welcoming return yesterday. When this sub was revived yesterday, there were 2,500 existing members. To help increase awareness and welcome everyone back, I'll be posting regular updates to increase our visibility.
Also, let's welcome u/Sausages64 for volunteering to help moderate this sub. We still have room for members who would like to help moderate and grow the community. I am waiting to hear back from r/Corvette to see if any of those folks would like to participate and if we can announce the return of our subreddit over there.
Later this week, I will start a thread for people who would like to showcase their cars in our banner area. I'll post details on how to submit your car if you are interested in being featured.
Until then..... get out your New Balances and jorts and don't forget to....
Had this 2000 Vert for over 10 years. Will have it until the day I die!
👀 clean your tires you filthy animals
Hey all, on the weekend I did a drain and fill off my coolant. Issue is I only got just under a gallon out of it. I had it jacked up with the rear higher as I also did an oil change. For the fill it also took just under a gallon. Anyone else have this issue and how know how to drain it all?
