To whoever drives the little POS gold car, and drives through Arista and honks incessantly every single morning at 6:30 am, i hope you have a very bad day. Please stfu, people are sleeping.
Hi there! My husband and I are relocating to Denver from Pittsburgh due to his job. We are interested in Lafayette and Louisville and really hope to be within an safe bike ride to either of the main streets. Every time we put an offer in on a home we get beat out by someone paying in full cash or waiving inspection. We're starting to think we need to branch out a bit. Is it a nice bike ride from the anthem neighborhood to Lafayette's main street? Or is all main roads and dangerous? I'm not an experience cyclist, I just like the idea of a slow Sunday morning ride into town for a coffee and back. I've pulled it up on Google Maps so many times, but it's hard for me to get a true idea and would love to hear anyone's opinion. Thank you!
Looking to learn piano again! Any recommendations on instructors would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks gang
I work in the office building and yesterday it seemed evident that a body had been found in the open space east of the building. Lots of uniformed police were here early, a white windowless van pulled up, marked police cars left and apparent forensic teams moved in.
I left the office before anything was removed but I've heard rumors (and it seemed obvious at the time) that a body had been found.
EDIT: Boulder County Sheriff's Office

I live near this area and was surprised to see *another* car service shop proposed. There is already a huge cluster of them right near King Soopers, and it is slated to pop almost directly next to Starbucks.
In 5 years, is this entire stretch going to be banks, hospitals (Children's, proposed UC Health, proposed AdventHealth), and car service shops?
When they get proposed individually, they all make sense... but together, it seems like we're putting together one wonky-ass stretch of road.
Serving House District 33 in Broomfield and Adams county update in MayCember (moms, IFYKYK)- It's Income-Aligned Housing Month and I included our housing initiatives in my latest email! As one of the founding members of our Housing Solutions Forum, I shared all of our housing events for May in here:

-Notably voted no on initiative 177 yesterday which would erode local control and set us back in our climate and GHG emission reduction goals. Unanimous vote by electeds like myself who also fought against oil and gas in 2018 and formalized our fight against fossil fuel extraction near our homes.
-Passed SB26-060, Alyssa's Youth Concussion Mental Health Protection Act- signed into law! Colorado Mental Health link here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17g1rCnatt/

We just received a quote for over $1,700 to replace a capacitor, a contactor, and a hard start kit ( the last two are possibly not even needed). The breakdown was roughly $600 per part—for items that cost under $50 retail and take less than an hour to install.
What I’m Looking For:
I am looking for a local, independent, or smaller HVAC company that offers fair "Time & Materials" pricing rather than aggressive "Flat-Rate" pricing. Looking to avoid the "big names" like Applewood, Plumbline, or any of the large franchises that focus on high-pressure sales.
Looking for:
Standard service call/diagnostic fee + fair hourly labor.
Does anyone have an "honest guy" or a local shop they trust for property maintenance in the Broomfield/Boulder/Denver North area? Thanks in advance!
Come learn about the incident command system and tested tools for flexible response to incidents and emergencies!
This system is used by all emergency services, law enforcement agencies and military. It allows for a rapid and organized response that is flexible to any incident and can tailored quickly. It comes with a set of tools such as job action sheets that designate specific tasks/functions, identification and safety procedures, etc. These methods can also be used to break up long responses into operational periods. We’ll also be covering communication tools to aid in verification of information, pathways of information, and clear language. This structure is how ICE and other migra agencies are supposed to function. This knowledge will also make identifying their different roles easier on a scene and allow confirmers or responders to know who is ideal for them to try to talk to.
You can RSVP on our encrypted form here so we can send you the link to the training and a follow up email with materials from the training. This also helps give us an idea of the number of attendees even if you choose not to share personal information! We understand that people are hesitant to share their personal information so we do not require registration to attend. You can just click the zoom link provided in the details section at 6pm on April 24th. You are not required to be logged into an email address to attend the training.
This training is virtual only and presented by We Keep Us Safe: El Pueblo Unido Contra ICE. We Keep Us Safe is a grassroots initiative to help the metro Denver area organize proactively and effectively to protect our community members from being inhumanely kidnapped by ICE. We are developing a hub of resources and best practices targeted towards the Denver area, but many of the resources are statewide. This can be found on our website wkus-co.org! We are educating and activating community members through canvassing, training, and outreach. Our goal is to support interested volunteers across the Denver area in building community and solidarity–and to support volunteers in effectively self-organizing in the face of state violence.
Howdy folks, I am trying to seek the best Bahn Mi in town. I love the one at Jeannie’s. Just discovered Paris Bahn Mi and will try it this weekend.
My favorite in the metro is New Saigon but I am trying to branch out. Thanks

I don’t need lessons or therapy. Just want to pet them once, I love horses.
Where can I go that would let me?
Hey NDEN!
If you’re 25+ and your idea of a perfect evening involves soft lighting, a warm drink, and a delightfully “granny-coded” hobby… you might have just found your people.
We’ve started a small, cozy Discord server for local folx who love the gentle, nerdy things in life. Think knitting and crochet projects, bookish rambling, baking experiments, gardening, puzzles, gaming, watching a B-movie, crafting, tea rituals, and falling down very specific interest rabbit holes together.
It’s a low-pressure, genuinely friendly space. No big loud server energy, no cliques, no gatekeeping. Just people who want to slow down a bit, share what they’re making or reading, build real friendships, and join occasional low-key local hangouts.
One small note: we do ask new folks to participate a bit when they join. Say hi, share a hobby, jump into a convo, etc. Just so everyone feels comfortable opening up and we know we’re talking to real humans and not bots.
If you’ve been craving community that feels more like a quiet living room than a crowded bar, this is for you.
Send a reply to the thread if you're interested and I will DM you a server invite!
What's going on with BVSD? Why are they choosing to hire first year teachers en masse, prioritized over teachers with experience and trying to say it's an effort to support early career educators?
This is happening at time when we know schools will be closed the next Fall. What happens to these early career educators? They get cut due to low seniority? Are these just canaries we are sending into the holes?
As a community member, I'm deeply concerned about the direction the district is going. We need more accountability from upper level admin? Time to make some upper level cuts? Can anyone speak to the upper level bulk contributing to budget issues? What are the salary levels of upper admin?
Are more people outraged about any of this?

Anyone else getting insane xcel bills? I live in a 850 sq ft one bedroom apartment and my bill was $180 this month. I have dogs and a lot of windows so I can’t leave the AC off, but i try to leave it at like 73 when it’s warm and around 70 when it’s cooler. I try to use off peak hours for dishwasher and laundry. I do have an air purifier but everything I’ve read said it shouldn’t cost me more than $100 extra per year? Am I doing something wrong here?
Hi all just moved out here this week wondering what everyone's experiences with the baseline townhomes has been. We are moving from our smaller home to the townhouse. Theres 3 of us plus a dog

Over the weekend I parked my truck on Parkland St. and woke up Tuesday to leave for work to find my catalytic converter was stolen. More than likely it was Sunday Night/Monday morning. Anyone have info near the area of suspicious persons? Has anyone else had their catalytic converter stolen?
Mega bummed and hope to get ANY information :(
