Is it a typical trait of Bostons to have temper tantrums?

Is it a typical trait of Bostons to have temper tantrums?

I know you'll just never believe it, but this handsome boi has temper tantrums.

When he does not get what he wants, he will nip at the Achilles heel. He seems to have known since birth that this is a sensitive area. Or he will go for the hand, and growl while doing so.

He is otherwise so loving and sweet, but if he is denied fun, he will turn on me. He does get time outs, but it hasn't really made a difference.

Is this a dog thing or a Boston thing or a him thing???

My little Druggy!

Went on a walk/hike and my dog found some marijuana and became sick. It was a rough 28 hours.

Lost my first Boston 10 years ago today

He was a family dog my brother brought home when I was just 15 years old in August 2005. I remember our electricity was out, and we were eating McDonalds. My bro swore to my mom he was just pet sitting but Nitro came home with a name tag of our address on it 😂 we also brought him a cage and that lasted all of 10 minutes of him crying. his name was Hercules because he was the smallest of the group, and we changed it to Nitro. I didn’t get my first iPhone/smart phone until 2014, we lost him 2016. So not a ton of photos and most of my photos are from cameras.he lived to 11 and a half. Poor thing fell off the couch early on, broke his leg and the hospital botched the surgery (he closed down soon after), so he was left with a leg he couldn’t fully use but he didn’t let it slow him down and used it almost as a way to kick himself forward with when running lol.

Just wanted to share the dog that started my love for Boston terriers! ❤️ feel free to share yours

What’s a quirky thing your Boston does?

Babs hovers over your foot and demands belly rubs. She only wants you to rub with your foot and she looks deeply ashamed as you rub her belly. She also will lick your toes if you stop.

Harness Recommendations

I’m looking for a harness that has a leash attachment in the front that my sweet pups can’t back out of. Currently use WonderWalker, but they can technically get out of them if they back up.

Anyone have any good recommendations? TIA

How do you stop a destructive dog?

As cute as he is, if he's left alone for even a few seconds, he'll try to destroy something. Anything he can get a hold of. We can't leave anything anywhere within his reach.

We try to get him toys to keep him interested in other things, but it doesn't always work. And I'm not sure how to properly teach him not to mess with anything and everything that's not one of his toys lying around the house. We never had to do that with our other dog.

Any advice?

A Special Thank You to this community.

I'm not very active on social media. Reddit is only one of two platforms where I participate.

This Boston Terrier community has helped me immensely, during the very long grieving process for my nearly 17 year old "Boogie Boy."

I lost my handsome gentleman just 6 days before Christmas last year. Not a single day has passed that I have not shared many a tear. Boogie was my last connection to anything. I have no remaining surviving human family. Boogie filled that void. I rarely went anywhere that Boogie couldn't go. To say that I was devastated is the understatement of the century. Reading your posts and seeing the photos and the videos of your babies is helping me to smile again. I'm too old now to get another fur baby. Chances are they would outlive me and I wouldn't want to leave them alone. I can't dare foster, because if I touch them, they'll stay with me forever. I'm just built that way.

I check this community every morning while I'm having coffee, and you help me through the day. Thank you to each and every one of you.

Innocent or Guilty?

Somebody decided to chew up Dad’s empty Pepsi bottle when he took his eyes off of him. So now he has a new hat!
