“Wait, why would say we can’t ship Midoriya?” “Because he’s my husband.”
The girls all stared at Todoroki as she just stared blankly back at them.
“Wait, hold on hold on.” Ashido said, straightening up and looking at her, “What do you mean Midoriya is your husband? You mean Izuku Midoriya? The same Midoriya in our class?”
“Yes.” Shoko Todoroki said plainly.
They all looked, but when they didn’t see a ring, Todoroki dug into her pocket, pulled out a beautiful, perfectly polished ring and slipped it onto her ring finger.
“I take it off during training for safety.” She said, and continued to just stare at them.
“When did this happen?!” Hagakure demanded.
Just then, Izuku entered the living room from the kitchen, walking towards the stairs.
“MIDORIYA!!!” Several of the girls shouted in unison, making him jump.
“What? Is something wrong?” He asked, surprised.
They all stared at him, conspicuously looking at his left hand.
Sure enough, he was wearing an identical ring to Todoroki’s.
“You two really are married?!” Ochaco asked, surprised too.
“Huh?” Izuku replied in confusion, and then looked at Todoroki. “Oh, well, not yet. Legally we’re just engaged.”
“But we had the wedding.” Todoroki replied, still in her normal deadpan.
“That was just the ceremony. We can’t legally get married until we’re adults. That’s why we don’t share family names yet.”
“How did this happen?” Toru asked.
“It was a quirk marriage.” Todoroki answered bluntly. “Father wished to preserve, and possibly enhance my quirk, so he arranged it. I have grown to enjoy Izuku’s presence, however. We spend every evening together.”
This made Ashido light up, “Oh, so you two go on dates? Tellmetellmetellme!”
“Whoa hold on-“ Izuku started, but Mina cut him off.
“Shush! This is girl talk!” She waved him away.
“We usually spend our evenings sitting together in Izuku’s room watching All Might videos.” Todoroki said in a cold monotone.
“Shoko!” Izuku said blushing.
Feeling mischievous, Hagakure asked, “Hey Shoko, what would you do if you ever caught another girl hitting on your man?”
“Why would another girl strike him? Do you mean like a villain? Or training?” Shoko asked, looking at about where the invisible girl’s face was.
“No! I mean like flirting! Like what would you do if some other girl flirted with Izuku?”
Something in Todoroki’s demeanor shifted then, as she was suddenly Endeavor’s daughter, the dangerously trained, hardened soldier, as she said in the coldest voice they’d ever heard, “I would give them the choice of freezing to death, or being burned alive.”
From anyone else, even Bakugo, this might have come off as a jest, or bluster. Coming from Shoko, in that tone, made them all aware that it was nothing less than a statement of fact.
Worse, she started to look at them all in turn, like a predator sizing up its prey.
Luckily, Izuku thought quickly.
“Shoko, you want some soba?” He asked quickly.
There was that switch again, as Todoroki became just another, albeit cold, teenage girl.
“Yes. I would like that.”
“Come on, let’s make some.” Izuku said, and the couple quietly walked over to the kitchen.
The rest of the girls just sat quietly for a long time.
“No one goes near Midoriya. Agreed?” One of them said.
“Agreed.” The rest all said in unison.
