i shockingly ended up winning the blythe lottery, and they shipped her out quick. sent out by junie moon on friday and arrived on my doorstep in the us on monday. i adore her! her hair is in desperate need of a brushing though 😵💫💕

Hey all! I could really use some help here,
I have a Blythe on a YMY22 body. I was originally using the square neck insert, but the head came off one day and it felt like it had been a bit wobbly before that (maybe too heavy).
I was recommended by another experienced doll maker to replace the neck with a custom one from Etsy. She told me to remove the original neck, widen the hole if needed, and screw in the new piece using the screw it came with.
But when I tried installing it, there was actually nowhere in the chest to screw it into, so that part didn’t work at all.
I did widen the neck hole to try to fit the piece, but now I’m running into more issues:
-The neck itself seems too short
and
-The square supports inside the faceplates don’t sit properly and leave gaps
So now I’m stuck with a widened hole in the back of the body and no working neck installed 😭
I’m not sure how to properly measure the opening to get the right replacement, or if there’s a way to fix this DIY without needing to buy a whole new body.
Has anyone dealt with this with a YMY22 before? Is this salvageable?
I’d really appreciate any help, especially since it was urgent for me this week.

Yes that's my Milk whacking off her friend's shades to pose for the photo. Bonus pic at the end showing her weight-balance struggle hahaha
It was incredibly difficult to keep her upright! I need some suggestions on how to do it a bit less klutsy because I fear for my doll's shiny faces!

I made a look alike doll for my best friend!!!! I would include a pic of her but I don’t think she’d appreciate that lol so you’ll just have to take my word that is a mini-her!!
First stop was Junie moon in Shibuya, then there was a little store right by it called pretty in pink or something like that - They had tons of miniatures, THE. the Dolly Teria on the 7th floor of this complex in shinjuku then finally Nakano Broadway at Mandarake Plastic on the 4th floor!
My Dear Forest Deer, the 1st authentic Blythe I've owned, finally got an outfit change after nearly a year. Barrettes are from Bealls Outlet, if anyone was curious.
