Have a Simple routine & an Intricate routine.

I had awful cystic and hormonal acne, as well as eczema and melasma. I remember crying because my pimples had pimples on top of them.

After trying so many things and so many products.. Here’s something I learned the hard way.

Depending on your energy level that day, and what’s going on in your life at that time; You’re not always going to feel like taking care of your skin.

Have a simple routine for when you are not feeling like doing anything and more intricate routine for when you really are feeling like pampering yourself or you’re feeling like you’re in your routine.

Good quality products, Medical grade skincare for the most part is better than, most store bought or high-end products that cost more.

I still have both drugstore, high-end, and Medical grade skincare but my skin still looks good when I only use the Medical grade skincare and I barely do anything as long as I keep those products and keep the base of my routine.

Forehead darker than hairline after headbands dail

I was wearing a headband wig that covered my hairline almost daily for the last 3 months. We were in the middle of winter without much sun so was surprised to see the difference between of complexion along my hairline and the rest of my forehead.

I know as people of colour sometimes our foreheads can look darker but I’ve never had the contrast between my upper and lower forehead to be so noticeable. I think it looks better in the pic.

Any advice on what I can do and how long it can take? Currently got new products that I’ll be using as I’m restarting my skincare routine after neglecting it for a while the products that I think will be relevant are: the ordinary glycolic acid 7% once a week at most, ELF vitamin C 10% , La Roche posay sunscreen spf 50 and the ordinary azeliac acid 10%

Advice on My Back Acne/Hyperpigmentation

Hi everyone,

I’ve been struggling with back acne and hyperpigmentation for a while. I’m really trying to stay consistent with my skincare routine and would love some advice to make sure I’m not overdoing anything.

Current Skincare Routine for Back Acne:

- Cleanser: AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Acne Clear Body Cleanser by Some By Mi (1x daily night)

- Vitamin C+ Garnier 4% niacinamide+salicylic acid+melasyl

- Toner: Eqqualberry swimming pool

- Moisturiser: Purito pat calming gel cream

- Exfoliation (1x/week): Pink sugar scrub from Rituals

In the past I’ve used Panoxyl Acne Foaming Wash 10%, kojic soap, Eucerin Anti-pigment, Vaseline Gluta-Hya but didn’t see any big differences at all. (Also tried the brightener vitamin c body wash from naturium but it was too much and triggered my eczema)

My Concerns: I still have hyperpigmentation but less annoying pimples. Curious about how to adjust products to help speed up healing and fade marks, I’ve heard people mention azelaic acid or retinol helps but idk.

What type of acne is this?

I’ve been struggling with acne since being a preteen and I still don’t know what this is. I run cross country and track. I try to eat as many fruits and veggies I can in every meal I have. I have candy here and there but def not a lot. i was wondering what specifically this type of acne is. And how to make it go away. I also don’t like the lack of vibrancy in my skin. And I thought that running lIke 30 miles a week and eating healthy would help with skin vibrancy and acne but my face still looks like this. I also deal with major bloating that I’m thinking of going to my doctor for, thinking this may be gut related. But also idk. any advice helps ty!

Not sure about this routine…

I’ve never posted before, so hopefully this is done correctly.

Current routine

AM:

Bioderma shower oil to cleanse

The Ordinary Azaleic Acid

The Ordinary Lactic Acid

La Roche Posay Roughness Smooth lotion with Urea

La Roche Posay Sunscreen

PM: Bioderma shower oil to cleanse

Tretinoin .025%

Honestly, I’m not married to this routine. It has just been what I have been trying out for the last 5 weeks. Sometimes, I miss the sunscreen but as the sun is out more now I will make that a priority. I no longer have insurance and will run out of the tretinoin soon. Any help would be appreciated⭐️

Texture and hyperpigmentation issues

Hard under skin painful spots seem to be resistant to any spot patches I’ve tried, what else could I do please? Also please could you advise on how to improve texture and hyperpigmentation from cystic acne, thanks.

went from red to suddenly dark and scaly

My sister suddenly noticed my skin was red like it was irritated and I brushed it off because sometimes I wake up with random scratches, then suddenly it became dark and scaly. Besides lotion I have been using nizoral on my neck cause of tinea versicolor since early march, but I have used it a year ago and never got this so I’m confused what caused this sudden break out , has anyone had this before ?

What is causing this new dry/scaly patch?

I started Tret .05 and Azelaic acid 15% about 14 days ago. I haven't been using them daily either as I work out a lot so its been a struggle to figure out when to use my Azelaic acid as I will likely sweat it off if done at the start of my day and then I may have used the tret 7-9 days out of the last 14 days. My face has been burning a bit lately (Derm said burning means its working buuuut idontknowboutdat) the last couple of evening I've used the tret. Last night I opted for a deep hydrating facial mask (overnight that I rinse off in the morning) and this shows up today, which is something I've never experienced. I wear my sunscreen, keep my face moisturized and drink my water but this feels uncomfortable. Do I need to pause the topicals for now or am I missing a step?

Morning, I do a light wash (more of a rinse) and apply Azelaic acid, hydrating essence and sunscreen

Evening, I double cleanse if needed, layer of moisturizer (not every night, ive been experimenting with the sandwich method) let that soak in (5 minutes or so) then tretinoin, let that soak in then my ceramide moisturizer.
