I was looking for books as part of a series for my son. They were missing specific books from the series so they told me on March 24 they would order new ones and I would be the first notified so I could borrow them as soon as they arrived. Several visits (3+) and phone calls (5+) and VMs later, still nothing. Every time I actually spoke to someone they blamed someone else, or directed me to someone else, or told me "oh thats the other system" or "oh that persons out and will be back tomorrow - can we call you then?" I've given my name and number to so many people and never received any follow up. I promise my demeanor in person is much nicer than this post - this is just a venting of my frustration.
I've since ordered the books from Amazon.
I can’t stand that Dunkin’ manager on 8th St. The manger talks to her team like trash and always has a nasty attitude. She’s not fit or trained to run a business she’s horrible at it.
This will influence my vote.
Thank you.
Hi. I just moved here from out of state and I’m in a bit of a parking-related pickle. The listing for my apartment stated that street parking would be available but not guaranteed, which I accepted, because the listing also featured a driveway. I moved about three weeks ago and immediately got into it with my landlord because he (apparently) rents the parking space in his driveway to a third party who does not live in our building and actually lives about a block away. My housemates and I have been in contact with the city because we’re fully aware that renting out a driveway to a third party is illegal. We’re not sure how to approach this from a legal standpoint. In the meantime, though….
Where am I supposed to park? I have a parking pass and I live in a blue zone. Our neighbor offered to let us use the spot halfway into his driveway because he doesn’t own a car, but the building owner has been giving him grief because he ALSO rents out a driveway spot???
I don’t know. I’m kind of going insane because I’m spending an hour and a half weaving through streets looking for a place to parallel park that isn’t a driveway every time I come back from upstate. Are there any overnight public parking areas, or am I fucked? Thanks.
Hey everyone — I just moved to Bayonne and I’m looking to find a running group or other runners to train with. I’m currently doing the NYRR 9+1 program to qualify for the 2027 NYC Marathon and would love to build a small running community along the way.
I’m open to easy runs, long runs, workouts, race training, or even just meeting more local runners in the area. I usually run in/around Stephen R. Gregg Park, liberty state park, Bayonne bridge and up/down broadway. If anyone’s interested in linking up for runs or knows of any local clubs/groups in Bayonne let me know. Thank you!!
Here’s a reminder for the city council meeting + protest tomorrow, May 13th @ 5:30pm!
This is again a chance for us to have public input and make our voices heard. I highly encourage everyone to come and speak, especially since it will be a day after the election.
Please come early as you have to sign up before the meeting starts @ 6pm to talk on the floor! Each person will have 5 minutes to speak.
As many people have already saw, there was NO ordinance introduced on the agenda pertaining to the ban on data centers. An ordinance that we were told in the last council meeting would be discussed in May. They also cancelled the last planning board meeting, and the data center wasn’t on that agenda either.
We need to hold the elected officials accountable and pressure them to keep their word, especially since their terms are up in late June. It was heard and recorded, so they can’t change the story now.
Also, thank you again to everyone for supporting and helping to educate others about the harm that data centers cause.
The fight is not over, and there is an important NJDEP meeting pertaining to Bayonne Energy Center that I will post about another time soon. There is much to be done, but we will stand strong!!!!
I’ll see everyone Wednesday! (-:
Avoid the intersection if you can today!
That's all.
These politicized percentages mask a very stark reality: our estimated tax increase - just from the school portion - is $770 (per tapinto).
All three candidates (plus Lance, who insists on being counted for some reason) will cry "not me" but ALL of them have a hand in why Bayonne currently stinks...right down to those desperately needed traffic lights.
Sorry if you're late to the party, but we'll be getting more of the same regardless of who wins this election.
Everyone on the block was pissed off.
Hi all,
I'm in search of an apartment, I'd love an attic or basement unit with no roommates. I'm leaving an abusive relationship after a long time of ignoring the red flags, and I'm desperate to finally get out.
I am trustworthy and responsible, I am just too old to deal with roommates and too young to afford the apartment I'm in currently without a partner. I have a dog and cat who are well behaved and on the older side, they are my babies and my world. I really can't afford the current going rate for apartments, so if anyone is willing to provide me a short-term rental until I get back on my feet for an affordable price that would be great (plz under 1600). I'm hoping to stay in Bayonne, also open to surrounding cities.
Please no snarky comments I'm in a vulnerable spot in my life lol. Thank you in advance!
We all know NJ has too many municipalities which has caused our taxes to go sky high and getting things done difficult. Would you be in favor of merging with JC in the future?
Good article on the topic:

Hey guys might be an odd request but your boy is craving some fresh lychees. Costco is out. Help me please
Bayonne votes for mayor next Monday. We sent all three candidates — Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski, Loyad Booker, and Mary Jane Desmond — a 10-question questionnaire on housing, PILOTs, BRT, Vision Zero, and parks.
All three responded. We’ve published every answer verbatim, side by side, so you can compare for yourself before you vote.
Better Blocks NJ sent the same questionnaire to Rep. Rob Menendez Jr. and Mussab Ali ahead of the June 2 Democratic primary. Both responded to all 16 questions. You can read the full side-by-side comparison here:
They agree on most things — LIHTC expansion, Section 8 entitlement, BRT on JFK Boulevard, SS4A funding, MUTCD reform.
But there were some areas of disagreement too:
NEPA reform (Q5): Both check Support, but Ali backs categorical exclusions for transit in existing rights-of-way. Menendez explicitly opposes categorical exclusions on environmental justice grounds.
PATH under FTA (Q7): Both support moving PATH to FTA, but Menendez conditions his position on stakeholder discussions with labor to resolve pension and benefit issues.
Penn Station through-running (Q8): Ali supported while Menendez calls for further study.
Expanding NYC MTA to Hudson County (Q9): Both support a system expansion but Menendez specifies New York should fund the expansion through congestion pricing revenues.
NJ Transit funding (Q10): Ali attacks Menendez for opposing congestion pricing. Menendez cites ~$40M in project-specific funding he's brought back.
Highway funding tied to pedestrian safety targets (Q13): Ali checks Support. Menendez doesn't check either box.
Full responses are unedited. We just formatted them side-by-side so you can more easily compare them yourself.
Just drove by the area. Expect another day of craziness in the "luxury" area of Bayonne.
Just a friendly reminder to local campaign volunteers and candidates heading into election season: please do not place campaign flyers directly inside residents’ mailboxes.
I came home yesterday to find campaign material from Mary Jane Desmond volunteers placed inside my mailbox, even though I already have a campaign sign on my property. For comparison, the only campaign mail I’ve received through the mailbox legally was from the Nadrowski campaign, which was delivered by USPS with paid postage like regular mail.
Regardless of political affiliation, mailboxes are reserved for USPS use only, and placing flyers inside them by hand is against federal law. That law exists for a reason — to protect the integrity and security of people’s mail, prevent tampering concerns, and ensure that official mail delivery is handled only by authorized postal workers. It also keeps campaigns, businesses, and solicitors from using mailboxes as free advertising space without paying postage.
Personally, I find it concerning that a federal law is being ignored so casually, especially by volunteers connected to a campaign for someone who serves in both City Hall and on the Board of Education. I would hope any campaign associated with public service would make sure volunteers understand and follow the laws before going door to door.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with door flyers, porch drop-offs, or other normal forms of campaigning — but entering residents’ mailboxes is not appropriate, nor legal and could lead to fines if it continues.
Just posting this respectfully because I’m curious if anyone else in town has experienced the same thing lately.
