AON Software

I’m looking to start practising a bit for AON in the hopes that I make it to the next stage.

I’m wondering which software I should go for. Pilot test is free but outdated and has no tracking. PASS seems good, but is quite pricey considering idk I’m through yet. Aviator Academy is a lot cheaper, but has less tests.

Is it worth investing in PASS for the extra few tests? Or does Avaiator Academy cover all the ones which actually come up? Thanks!

Blocked out the question in image 1 to comply with the subreddit rules. Have also blocked out my full name in each image for privacy reasons.

Bit of a rant/moan, feel free to ignore if you’re only looking for help or updates on this subreddit.

First of all, I would like to say that my “saltiness” isn’t due to being rejected. If it didn’t happen at this stage, there was a high chance of it happening at another stage.

That said, I am utterly disgusted with the so called “tech support” when I was experiencing problems with the video interview.

I had the problem of my videos not uploading on my first attempt. So I of course emailed SPAtechissues@ba.com to see if I could get it fixed. They told me to complete as normal and they would troubleshoot after. So that’s what I did.

Instead of troubleshooting, they just sent me a new invite to complete, with three different questions and told me they would not allow another attempt. When attempting the first question/scenario however you want to describe it, I had the exact same issue. So I emailed the tech issue person again. Their reply was “please submit.”

I chose not to do this, as if I were to submit without any videos attached again, I would not get another chance at this stage, and would subsequently be rejected. So I sent another email back, just simply asking for some reassurance that my application would not be jeopardised by submitting with no videos again (image 2). Unfortunately, this was on the night of the deadline for me to submit, and I didn’t hear back until the next day, after the deadline.

The response I received was incredibly unprofessional and rude, and quite frankly the complete opposite of the standards expected from BA (image 3).

“I’m not sure what you are arguing with, I have asked you to submit”

It’s not the rejection that I am most annoyed about, it’s the complete lack of effective communication from tech support and the attitude I was given throughout the whole email conversation with her.

I truly hope everyone else has a better experience with this and does not run into the problems I had, and I certainly hope you don’t have the same person on the other end of the tech issue email if you do.

Good luck with the rest of the application everyone.

Evening all, completed my video interview(s) this evening and felt reasonably confident going in. Had done my prep and a few run through of answers to expected questions but feel my performance has let me down a bit. Ended up being quite shaky/stop-starty, and I had to use notes to help answer, even for the motivation question which I thought I had nailed down. Did anyone experience this, or have to use notes more than expected when answering. First interview of this type so definitely think the nerves kicked in a bit.

Does anyone have any idea precisely when each stage of in-person assessments will be? And do you get to choose a preferred day to do the in person assessment day?

Hi everyone hope you are well. I sent an email to British Airways recruitment team regarding my unavailability to compete the online interview test which is part of the online assessments. This is due to me falling ill over the last couple days and my voice had been affected badly. Since it’s a PA announcement activity I know I wouldn’t be able to perform at the best of my abilities. They clearly ask for you to send them and email if you require adjustments on a test which I did and I did this hours before my deadline at 23:59. I just received an email saying I did not get selected due to me not completing the test. My heart sank as I was shocked. However I knew I sent them an email and query which they say someone from the team will respond shortly. This all happened on the weekend which makes me think that no one was available to take my query. I just want to know if you guys think I will be emailed tomorrow or called about it with them admitting an error on their end?

I don’t want to get my hopes up and think this means I’ve passed the interview stage, as I’m fully expecting to still get a rejection email!

Just wanted to see how many questions people completed. I only made it to question 6 but it timed me out. Confident I at least got the first five correct but wow that was so hard. Maybe took a bit of time jotting everything down

Has anyone used sky test to prep for the AON?

Hi all.

I’m preparing ahead of time for the AON tests (hopefully I’ve passed the video interview lol) and I find myself absolutely stuck on what to invest my time and money into.

At the moment I’m using PASS and Aviator academy, I’m also looking into pilot aptitude test .com.

I’ve been recommend sky test as well when I looked at it I realised it costs £89 which is out of my budget but at this point I’ll do anything to get to the group stage. Is anyone using it, is it worth the price? Let me know.

Thanks

During the video test, you have to make an announcement and record 2 minutes.

However for both of them I finished at 1:30 minutes, with me sitting there for 30 seconds staring... how bad is that

Hi everyone,
Did anyone else receive a holding email this morning advising that there is huge volumes of work progressing applications? It did mention anybody waiting for Phase 2 has not been rejected - so at least a positive!

I like many others submitted my video interview scenario answers along with my motivations for being a pilot today. After submitting my videos I got a thank you message on screen and it said something along the lines of “we will get in touch with you in the next two weeks regarding the outcome”.

Was this the same for everyone? Or have people progressed onto the next online assessment after this one?

Are they letting all the submissions catch up as a lot of people have been staggered like me who used up the whole two calendar days after each invite whereas others I’ve read have been rushing through Upto 3 a day the second they get their invites.

Also, what is the next stage? I read on the application that it is an aptitude test? Did I make that up? What’s everyone’s best tips to revise other than AON which they directed us to.

I’m seeing some of you have received a holding email because of the high volume of requests. However I haven’t received one, and I didn’t receive an email to confirm that they received my video interview, is this normal or am I the only one in this situation?

Hi everyone,

Myself and a friend both applied for the first time this year. Neither of us made it to the video interviews, but our feedback emails were formatted differently.

Mine read "Unfortunately, we are unable to progress your application further, as you did not meet the minimum benchmark for this stage of the recruitment process"

Whereas my friends read "Unfortunately, we are unable to progress your application further, as you did not meet the minimum benchmark on the following assessment(s):

Speedbird pilot academy - Situational judgement test (2026)"

Does anyone know what this means? I have seen people who received a rejection prior to when I did who had which tests they missed the benchmark for listed, so why are mine not listed? I assumed that it meant I missed the benchmark on all 3, however I've also seen people post that they were told they missed the benchmark on all 3.

Trying my best to understand to improve for next year.

Thanks!!

Hi all,

I had a video interview issue where my video didn’t upload, it just said try again and if I go on the portal it says ‘no video uploaded’. I immediately emailed the tech issue email last week and a follow up this week but haven’t received a response yet which I am surprised by. Should I try another email or what have people done who had similar issues? Hoping they are just very busy and will respond as soon as possible, just worried as has been a while and heard nothing.

Thanks
