First time shipping a car, so sorry if this is a basic question.

I’m moving to Seattle for an internship and trying to understand how delivery actually works. The carrier says transport usually takes 7–10 days, but my concern is the delivery timing.

Once I’m there, I’ll be working 9–5 and probably won’t be able to leave work to receive the car during business hours. I’m also moving there for the first time, so I don’t know anyone locally who could accept it for me.

How do people usually handle this? Do carriers offer evening/weekend delivery, let you meet somewhere after work, or hold the car somewhere temporarily?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Is this a standard price at the moment to ship, I have a non running 93 Mr2 I’ve been trying to ship for the last month but I can’t get a quote for less then 3,500 whenever a broker I am in contact with secures a carrier.

So my first foray into buying via broker SalvageBid has turned sideways..

They took payment for acting as a broker to ship the vehicle via EasyHaul (BIG mistake!). Absolute radio silence from EasyHaul with daily storage fees adding up. Normally I book transport on UShip (yeah I know) but the cost looked good so I jumped. Never again.

I’m wondering if anyone knows an owner/transporter (NOT broker) that is good to work with? The car is in Texas waiting to go.

Hello, I’m looking to transport a 2024 Acura RDX from 11769 to 92104. Would like the car to arrive by 6/8, pickup anytime after 5/25.

Do not use SGT transport- I have shipped vehicles using both Road Runner and Nexus. SGT just charged me $200 even though I told them that I needed to cancel a contract that I had with Nexus since it was past the due date. I spoke with a sales representative named Cody who advised me to sign the contract with SGT - he sent me a link and waited on the phone for me to approve the link. I told him that I needed to cancel with Nexus and he advised that I state that I decided to drive the vehicle. I contacted Nexus immediately and canceled the contract. I received a phone call this morning from SGT from a scheduling agent who informed me that the vehicle is posted on the board twice and that I would be charged $200.
