Looking for Info: Delivery arrangement

First time shipping a car, so sorry if this is a basic question.

I’m moving to Seattle for an internship and trying to understand how delivery actually works. The carrier says transport usually takes 7–10 days, but my concern is the delivery timing.

Once I’m there, I’ll be working 9–5 and probably won’t be able to leave work to receive the car during business hours. I’m also moving there for the first time, so I don’t know anyone locally who could accept it for me.

How do people usually handle this? Do carriers offer evening/weekend delivery, let you meet somewhere after work, or hold the car somewhere temporarily?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I am moving to Seattle for a 6 month internship (May to Nov) and trying to decide between two housing options. Would really appreciate some local advice.

Option 1:
Lower Queen Anne apartment

  • Around $2400 including parking
  • Much closer to my office near T-Mobile Park
  • But public transit commute still shows around 35-40 mins
  • Driving shows about 10 mins

Option 2:
Shoreline near a light rail station

  • Around $1300 including parking
  • Longer distance but easier access to light rail (shows around 1hr)
  • Driving shows about 35-40 mins

I will be living alone, have a car, and do not mind driving. However, I assume I may still need to pay for parking near the office either way.

For someone staying only 6 months, would it make more sense to save money and stay in Shoreline, or stay closer in Lower Queen Anne for convenience/lifestyle? (fortunately I can manage to afford either)

Thanks a lot!
