Mobile Data - Audi Connect not connecting

In short, trial period expired. Signed up for mobile data plan (shows active in app under subscriptions) but car isn’t connecting. Level 2 support told me it shows provisioned correctly. I tried turning mobile data off and on via toggle switch and nothing. I paid a full month of it trying to work through it and didn’t connect. Just signed up again (…expect different result phase) and still not connecting. Has anyone figured it out if it you had similar problems? Hope this is not one of those “disconnect the battery” universal resets. Help.

One year with my Audi Q6 E-Tron - the Good, the Bad, and The ugly.

Will make this concise:

The good: car gets a lot of compliments, great ride quality, very quiet inside, feels like a proper luxury car in the $100k range. Love love love driving it.

The bad: infotainment system is super glitchy and phone doesn’t always connect (better now than at beginning), tire noise isn’t as low as the Tesla we have but you can replace the tires or you get used to it.

The ugly: the whole motherboard died a few months in, the car stuttered to a stop a few time and then turned into a brick. Had to get it towed. Took weeks to put a new brain in it. On the bright side they gave me a higher trim as a loaner! Ha! Been about 8 months and no more problems since the replacement.

Overall favorite car I’ve ever had, and if a trip to the shop as they work out the bugs isn’t the end of the world for you, I think it’s the best car for the price. If you want perfect convenience, maybe wait until it’s out longer and they work the bugs out. I personally don’t care about perfect convenience, I’d rather have a car I love driving every day.

What’s your experience been?

Map on drivers display

Just looked at the new Q3 MMI with the drivers map. I sure hope they add this to the 25 Q6 models with a software update. It’s ridiculous that they don’t have it. KD3 please.

POS APP for a POS Car

Is the app down for everyone or just me? While I’m waiting on Audi to buyback this piece of junk I was hoping to at least be able to lock and unlock the thing.

Pin on Buyback

I’ve been active in our group on my 3/26 SQ6 lease in VA. All the ludicrous malfunctions, and sticky wickets like lids in shop > 3x still erroring out. Fail fail fail lemoning.

Aw, Friends, how true is it that “I’m not the only one, with mixed emotions…..?”

Is there a pin, sub or repository on Buybacks and Lemoning for Q6s? I know my state differences, talked to two lawyers (we are hot leads given our case facts), and want to:

-pick the right VA atty (they should know more on below than me)
-Identify cashkeepbuyback offer ranges
-And id relevant damages like the L2 charger, Tesla adaptor…

On string, sub or DM, I’m happy to benchmark with others in same boat.

Thank you!

“Q6 Lemon buyback lease demand letter VA lawyer”
Without a known pin, I’m search stringing it and within Q6. Although, once someone’s out, they are likely not eager to return to Q6 Reddit….

9 Months Together

And I still absolutely adore her. My 4th Audi and my favorite to drive. I’ve always been an all-black car girl but the Plasma Blue gets so many compliments.

Steering column control module failed

1 year with my Audi Q6. Flawless before last Monday. This module failed. They provided a similar loan. It will take 3-4 weeks to get it from Germany and install it. Is this common?

This post might not be very popular here, but this is for people researching what new premium German EV SUV to buy.

I'm going to focus only on lease numbers since it's more popular with EVs and German luxury cars.

I'm a current/previous Q6 and A6 e-tron owner. My Q6 failed within a few hundred miles with a failed steering gear and had other safety issues like the door locks not working, digital key never worked, nor plug and charge. The car was bought back by VW.

My A6 is also being bought back. The hatch never worked on it. It wouldn't always open and wouldn't close. KD2 sort of fixed that but also broke the cruise control.

To replace the Q6 I got a fully loaded iX xdrive60. Despite the almost $30,000 price difference, the BMW is cheaper to lease than a Q6 would have been. Audi essentially ended all support for the Q6 and A6 e-tron after the tax credit expired. Residuals were in the crapper and MF rates went through the roof.

For May 2026 BMWFS is offering a base MF on the iX45 at 0.0008 and a 53% residual. The iX60 is the same 53% but a MF of 0.0009.

For comparison a 2027 Q6 Premium Plus has a 49% residual and a MF 0.00162, or... almost double the interest rate on an iX45.

Oh, and for the month of May (and previous months), BMW is offering $7500 lease cash....

So let's compare a 2026 BMW iX45 with an MSRP of $89,945 and importantly includes BMW's Driving Assistance Professional Package which allows hands off highway driving up to 85 MPH.

$0 DAS without tax, 10k miles a year, 36 months, with a 5%* discount off MSRP: $968 per month before tax, title, licensing, and sales tax.

Compared to a 2027 Q6 Premium Plus at $76,310.00. $0 DAS without tax, 10k miles a year, 36 months, with a 5% discount off MSRP: $1,179per month before tax, title, licensing, and sales tax.

*Most BMW dealers do 8-12% off MSRP on the iX. I got 12% off my iX60. Expect a lower discount on the 45 vs the 60.

But damn it, I do miss the frunk. And the dual charging ports with powered doors.

Help!

Got up to get in the car and not turning on at all.
The display will briefly display that battery at 66% so I know that’s not the problem.
Doors are locking/unlocking constantly.
I keep getting warnings about the charging system even though I haven’t charged for a few days.

Car going nuts. Can’t use it.

Can’t

Audi Q6 e-tron passenger display needs separate audio support

Just wondering if more Audi Q6 e-tron owners are frustrated by this:

The passenger can watch YouTube or use apps/games on the passenger display, but the audio always plays through the car speakers. There seems to be no option for:

  • Bluetooth headphones
  • separate passenger audio
  • independent audio routing

This would make a huge difference for long trips and family use.

The hardware/software platform should easily be capable of this, so hopefully Audi can add it in a future OTA update.

If you agree, please report it to Audi support as well — maybe enough requests will get it on their roadmap.

Taking my chances here, I know a lot of people have had a lot of issues with the Q6, but she’s so sexy I had to give it a chance.

well, it’s been real, but finally got the buy-back offer to refund all my payments for the past year minus usage (probably like the equivalent of 1 month lease payment). Their cash offer was hilariously bad ($8k to keep a lemon). Probably looking at the Q4 as a bridge car for now.

TLDR: We are on our third e-tron in six years. Each one has handled beautifully and kept us safe when it mattered most. Software bugs are frustrating, but when you need a two ton machine to protect your family, the e-trons are top of their class.

Let me tell you about a car that gets a ton of derision for its software quirks, while people completely ignore the fact that Audi engineers some of the safest cabins on the road. We recently got T-boned in a major accident that spun our Q6 right through a storefront. I can safely say this car saved our lives, but let's not get ahead of ourselves...

Our first EVs was an e-tron 55 Technik. Coming from an SQ5, it was a massive paradigm shift. My other half was battling constant range anxiety, and the car felt wider than most of the local roads, but it turned heads everywhere. For a beast of that size and weight, it was incredibly nimble. It was loaded with all the convinces of a top trim car (the built in air freshener, 'massage' ventilated seats), and the Antigua Blue finish with silver trim is probably the flashiest finish we will ever own.

In November of '24, just three weeks before we were to hand back the lease, a distracted driver turned left at the wrong time and clipped the front end. The damage didn't look severe to the naked eye, but she clipped the frame and part of the battery casing. The repairs were too costly, and it got written off. First major lesson learned: always get replacement cost insurance.

That loss forced us into a rental Tesla Model 3 for three months while we waited for our preordered '25 Q6 S-Line. Nothing makes you appreciate Audi engineering quite like driving a rental Tesla through the winter. Our salesperson was incredible during that gap, expediting the delivery of our Q6 in Plasma Blue with the black optics package.

The Q6 was a different animal. It was more responsive and significantly more efficient than the 55. I didn't love the move to the little rocker shifter, the capacitive steering wheel buttons, or having the climate controls trapped behind a touchscreen. But like all new tech, I adjusted, and it became a joy to drive.

Then, about a month ago, I was driving my spouse to work. A delivery driver blew a red light and T-boned us hard. The acceleration and the exact point of impact sent us spinning through a glass storefront.

People love to complain about driver assistance warnings popping up on the dash. Don't let a screen notification distract you from the reality that this car is built like an absolute tank (TBH, never use the drive assist functions so I never notice the messages). We felt the violent spin, but we were completely secure in our seats. The airbags didn't even deploy. The glass didn't break. The frame and the battery took the absolute brunt of the puncture. The police actually had to contact me after we left the scene just to confirm where the other car hit us, because the Audi absorbed the force that incredibly well. We walked away from a crash we really shouldn't have. If you are frustrated by OTA updates, let this be a ringing endorsement for what happens when you need the car to just be a car.

Another lesson learned the hard way: your driving isn't the issue, it is every other distracted driver on the road. Our insurance provider and VW Credit Canada went to bat for us again because of the total loss insurance. In lease cases, Audi gets the check, but they write you a check for any difference. Thanks to them and our dealer, we are VWAG for life.

Which brings us to e-tron number three.

The '25 run was limited and there was no '26 batch, leaving us with very few replacement options. We put a deposit down on an exact '27 Q6 S-Line replacement. A week later, our salesperson called about an incoming CPO. It was a Magnet Grey SQ6 on 21 inch rims. An older gentleman was facing health issues and needed to downsize to a Q3, so it came to us with only 2500 KM on the odometer.

We decided to finance this one instead of leasing. We appreciate the electric line enough to keep this one for over five years. The payments are slightly higher, but we avoided the worst year of depreciation, scored a true performance upgrade over a standard replacement, and came out the other side more whole than when we entered.

The most surprising lesson on the SQ6? The range is actually better. I am getting 18 to 20 KwH/100km compared to the 20 to 22 KwH/100km I was getting in the Q6, even with the bigger tires.

Let me know your range in the comments so I can compare. Please share any other times your Audi has kept you and your family safe!

edit: model year '25

Rear tailgate closing with a thud. Is there a way to reset?

When I close the tailgate, it does not “click” and lock like it normally does. It does open and close but it is not right. I’m not even sure the car is truly locked. Has anyone else had this issue? Do I need to take it to the dealer or can it be reset somehow?

I do have KD2 btw.

Sirius XM Radio Favorites Sync Popup

Almost every time I get in the car and start the SXM radio I get a popup that my favorites can’t be synced out of the car. I have to click ok to get it off the screen. I don’t care about favorites syncing, I just would like to not see this popup all the time. I tried refreshing my SXM signal and an MMI reset. No luck. Any ideas?

CarPlay - Text Messages

Hi

I’ve seen CarPlay in different brands display text messages. In Q6 no matter what I do the only way is to have Siri read it out. Also this does not seem to work with WhatsApp. Is it just me (user error) or is there something that is build into CarPlay or the car software itself that would prevent messages to show up as text vs. Siri reading it out?

Apple Carplay just stopped working after an out-of-town business trip

I've tried resetting the MMI, I've tried resetting my phone. I've disconnected the phone and the car multiple times. Nothing seems to get it back working again. My phone will connect with the bluetooth, but can't get carplay working.

Is it time to pull the 12V negative terminal?

Window trim issue

Anyone had their window trim above rear driver side window come loose? Any luck having it fixed?
I took mine in to the dealer and they said they just put in some new double sided tape but it immediately came off after I drove it home.

Hi, looking for suggestions on an inexpensive roof rack that’s easy to remove. I want to carry kayaks to the beach but don’t go often so don’t want to overspend.
Dick’s sporting goods has racks online and maybe in store but not sure which to pick. Amazon too.
Please send links if you’ve found one you like.
Thanks!

SEND DESTINATIONS TO Q6??

Just got a spanking new 2025 Q6. Had a Q4 and Q3. In those, I was able to send destinations to my car through my iPhone. I do the same thing with the Q6, but they don’t seem to show up anywhere on the Nav system of car. Anyone have any wisdom about this???
