Nerite flipped over on vacation - could it be alive?

I left for Easter to visit family from Friday - Monday (today). my snails were fine on Friday, but when I got home this afternoon one little guy was upside down on the bottom of the tank :( I think he got stuck that way. he doesn't look good at all to me, but everything says they smell awful when dead and neither me nor my partner can smell anything from him. I would say I have a very good sense of smell. is there any way he's alive? I don't wanna stress my other snails with an ammonia spike if he is 100% dead, but I really want to give him a chance... pic attached before I flipped him back over

Japanese trapdoor had babies!!

Was taking photos of my new Japanese trapdoor snail when a baby popped out! She had one yesterday too- funnily enough I actually posted on here to ID it because I didn’t see her have it and thought it was a pest snail.

Google says they usually only have 1-2 babies at a time. Can someone confirm? I’m excited about a couple new additions but not like 50 lol

Anyone else don't have a lid and their snails didn't escape

This is my buddy Lemon he has a nerite snail friend in here too and they never escaped once even while I don't have a lid

I guess my snails just know they are need to stay in water LOL 😂

White fluff on zebra nerite snails

Hi,

TLDR what's the white fluffy stuff on new new snails?

Picked these three guys up from my LFS on Saturday. Noticed yesterday they hadn't moved at all, did some searching online and found it to be normal, picked them up and smelled them to check they weren't dead (slightly salty smell but nothing putrid). Popped them back on this log rather than the sand. Today I've found they've still not moved and two now have this white, mulmmy stuff coming off them.

I've found one reference online to "stress slime" but nothing definitive.

Can anyone tell me what it could be? Thanks.

Hitchhiker #4

I buy live plays from a buddy of mine and there’s always a surprise in there lol can someone tell me if this guy is friendly and what type of snail it is?

I really like my hitchhiker Ramhorn, it’s growing so quickly. Other snails for a 10 gallon?

Hi everyone! I set up my first aquarium a little over 3 weeks ago. The plants I got had some hitchhikers – specifically this leopard ramhorn and plenty of bladder snails. I like the ramhorn a lot more and thankfully, I found a baby one the other day! So there’s at least 2 in the tank now and this big guy has grown so quickly.

This is a 10 gallon and once everything is cycled and really stable, I am going to get shrimp. I would really like some more snails though, but am kind of confused on their bioload and how many are okay. I know mystery snails have quite a large bioload and are best at 1 per 10 gallons, but what about the other snails I have?

My substrate is kind of deep and I am worried about pockets of gas building up. For reference, I did 1 inch soil capped with 1.5 inches of sand. I don’t know if this is normal, but bubbles will release from the soil fairly often. I know they reproduce like crazy, but I am thinking of getting some MTS to help aerate my substrate. Opinions? My tank is pretty heavily planted and will grow out to be a jungle lol. If I got MTS, could I also get either some nerite snails or a single mystery snail? Which do y’all prefer?

Not sure what to do...

Some historical context: about a week ago Luna climbed out of her tank and went on an adventure that unfortunately ended with her falling and injuring herself. She was doing okay till Thursday or so and started to become lethargic. I feared mantel separation as she showed some signs (slight showing of the mantel and swelling).

Over the weekend she took a turn for the worst and really swelled up- so much so thst her body couldnt fit in her shell to close her trap door. It looked so painful. We started air baths, 15 min every 2 hours, and the swelling went down a bit.

But... she is starting to smell quite badly. Whenever I take her out of the tank, it's like a punch to the face. She is still alive - or at least she still reacts to stimuli, but I'm honestly afraid she's deteriorating internally.

What can I do? What should I do?

What type of snail is this and how do I get more of these good boys? Fish shops nearby don’t sell snails.

Snail Identification

Posting for a friend! A friend of mine has a small bladder snail tank and noticed this little one in there this afternoon. She originally thought it was a baby trumpet snail but is now worried it is a NZMS. Would love second opinions!

Recovery

I’m happy to say that I think my black devil snail is on the road to recovery!

Posted a few days ago seeking help for my inactive, sick looking snail, and I think I’ve discovered the issue. Sadly his soft tissue was severely injured. Moved him to a quarantine tank right away, daily air baths and stress guard have helped make a huge difference! The injured/dead tissue has fallen off after few days, no more injured tissue that I can see, just healthy & healing tissue. Can’t yet see the full extent of the damage but be is active during his air baths, and excited to see algae wafers.

Hoping for a full recovery. If you have any other suggestions please let me know!

Thank you internet strangers for your helpful advice!

I'll never forget the snapocalypse of July 2024.

1 clutch was cute. 5 clutches was too much. Wouldn't recommend.

What type is this little cutie?

I had a bunch of eggs hatch, and some of them definitely are not ramshorn. But, that means I don't know what she is. If anyone can tell, let me know please!
