Plant rescue advice + bonus plant ID

Hi all!

I rescued these Aglaonema plants from B&Q, got them to give them to me for a couple of pounds each about 4 months ago. They looked in pretty poor shape (I have before photos if anyone is interested 😅).

The one in the first picture had some mild root rot so I changed its soil, cleaned and pruned the roots basically from the get go. It has survived admirably and is now stable enough that it’s putting out new growth. The problem is that as you can see the variegation on the leaves is very faded and some of them still have some damage on them. I could cut off all the damaged ones but I feel that the plant will eventually look very leggy. So I was wondering whether to chop the plant where I have marked (3rd photo) and propagate the top portion. I’m nervous though as I’ve never propped an Aglaonema before. Do you think propping it is a good idea or would just pruning back the leaves be better? If anyone has any better suggestions I’d love to hear them! 😊🩵

And as a bonus, if anyone can help me identify this survivor and its fellow rescue (last 2 pictures) I’d be really grateful! 😊🩵

Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer! Hope you all have a really awesome day! 💚

Hi all!

I just bought this Aglaonema, at a hefty discount because she had a few broken leaves (which I have cut off) and some with some brown edges. In spite of the damaged leaves, she spoke to me, especially when I saw how hard she was trying to stay alive, with loads of new growth (see third picture).

However since I bought her at a garden center they helpfully label all their Aglaonema as “mix”. I’ve been doing research to try to find out the specific variety but I am still unsure, would anyone know a bit better than me what she is?

Any help or thoughts are appreciated! 😊

Have a lovely day!
