This is not it...

Like many of you, I had high hopes for this company. I referred hundreds (and I do mean HUNDREDS) of people to them. At first, they seemed nice, professional, and willing to go the extra mile for the first wave of experts they onboarded. That changed fast.

The founders are extremely rude. Ask any kind of question and be ready to be treated like the dumbest person on the planet. But if you give it back to them, suddenly it's "stop disrespecting leadership." How about you stop disrespecting your experts? AQ is way too new to be treating their talent like this. They are not Mercor or Outlier, and they can't get away with it. If you want QUALITY experts, maybe stop being dicks?

And let's talk about their new AI-graded test for one of their projects. They're using GPTZero to flag AI-generated writing. The problem? GPTZero is not reliable. I was a lead on another platform that used GPTZero for the exact same purpose, and it falsely flagged about 95% of responses as AI-generated, even though we knew it wasn't because the exam was proctored. You can paste in published books from the late 1900s and GPTZero will call them AI-generated.

Their response when people, including highly educated PhD candidates, failed because GPTZero spat out "99.9% AI usage"? They basically insinuated that if you failed the GPTZero check, you were using AI. No ifs, ands, or buts, because "others have passed, so that means without a shadow of a doubt you're a liar and using AI." Or, you know, maybe we humans TRAINED the AI, so it's flagging actual human language and proper grammar.

This place sucks. Get out if you can.

What's the time frame for review?

I and several people I have worked with at another ai company all put in apps at the same time after learning about AQ and we are all stuck at the "resume review" stage we'll beyond the claimed 1-2 business days. What is the actual time frame for this process?

New Project Style on AfterQuery Experts?

In case yall didn’t hear, AfterQuery Experts just launched a faster way to apply for their generalist role. Just passed the onboarding test and I’m excited to start annotating. Heard the new project should start rolling out this week or so..Honestly the test was pretty easy and seems open to pretty much anyone willing to put in the effort. I’m a blue collar dad working construction, but needed some extra cash to help pay for my daughter’s cheer practice💙. Been a wonderful experience with AfterQuery Experts so far.

Also really excited for the new system where we don’t have to use Slack anymore way more convenient.

What kind of projects are going on currently?

I just joined the platform. I am trying to understand the type of projects and tasks that are available.

Is it mostly coding-related? What would be the difficulty level? Can a CS Grad do it?

Project paused

My project S was paused. They said it was due to all of the data leaks lately and wanting to make sure that everything was secure. They said that another creative writing project was in the works and we would receive updates this week. So far there has been no additional updates on my original project or the new one.

Are they just done? Should I keep checking? I was excited about the projects and am bummed.

Got a third offer with zero information

I posted before about getting two offers for jobs that I only found out about by going onto the dashboard. Was never given any information about pay or project guidelines. I’ve sent three emails to support and had no reply. Tonight I went on the site again and I have another project - again with no details, no contract, no guidelines, no pay rate. When o click on the project it takes me to a tryout task but with no guidelines. Is this normal? Is there a reason why they don’t give any details or guidance? Do other people get these things? Does anyone have an email address other than the support one which has ignored me now three times?!

Got An Offer From After Query

I just got an offer from this company and wanted to know if anyone else is currently working on this project and getting paid as well.

Also, when I click on the "Join Slack" button, it says the link has expired. Has anyone else faced this issue? How can I join the Slack channel then?

I got an offer from AfterQuery - is this legitimate? Should I take it?

I got an offer from AfterQuery - is this legitimate? Should I take it?

I recently got accepted for a remote part-time contractor role with AfterQuery, and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s legitimate before moving forward.

From what I understand, the work involves helping create or review software engineering tasks used for AI training. The tasks seem related to coding, debugging, algorithms, system design, testing, and evaluating AI-generated answers. The posting says it’s aimed at current or recent CS/software engineering students.

The email says I was accepted into their “Silver” track at $75 per task. The next steps are to join their Slack, message a specific person there so they can verify my account, and then finish setting up my profile/payment/legal paperwork through their portal.

Has anyone worked with AfterQuery before, especially through their expert/contractor platform? Is this a legitimate opportunity, and is there anything I should watch out for before giving them payment/tax information?
