Tuesdays have become Duro day for me …. Along with Saturday, Sunday, and Monday lol
I’m newer to watches. Been researching online about water resistance on watches. Some sites say swimming with a 50M watch is OK, others say 100M minimum. What’s everyone’s experience been, what’s your minimum?
Love the blue and I know it’s not some fancy mechanical and as much as I like those to for the money this watch is sick! $360 before tax at Kay’s.
Love how easy to read this guy is even at night.
Hello, just found this subreddit last week and finally got time to take photos of my current collection!
Currently I keep my most prized ones in a cheap 4 slot case I found at Kohl's so I would appreciate recommendations on bigger cases
So, I am in the market for a few new watches this year to add to my growing collection. I am specifically looking for each of the following:
1. Dive Watch
2. Cocktail Watch
3. Sport Watch / PRX
I know for certain at least one of these watches will be a Seiko as I don’t own one yet. All will be at minimum Citizen/Bulova/Seiko quality. All that being said, I do LOVE microbrands. Especially those who take a watch style and make it their own rather than just copying someone else’s work. However, much has been said of the Chinese market. And this got me thinking. We know that Chinese watchmakers are capable of making quality products. Heck, they manufacture for many of the popular brands already. And brands like Sea-Gull for example make many well-built and designed watches that can come at a premium price. If I am going to get Seiko quality watch, I will just get a Seiko. I wanted to know if the “lower” Chinese brands can produce anything of quality in comparison. So, I ordered this: Watchdives WD1980 (day/date Ronda 517). My plan is to take this with me on my wrist when I shop for a dive watch this year. I want to use it both to compare to popular brands, but also to rate the WD1980 itself.
I am genuinely looking forward to doing this. I know we tend look down on Chinese watches as China is often the source of many poor-quality fakes and copies. This experiment will be of great interest to me as my OCD dictates what I find attractive and largely pushes me towards what I end up buying and wearing. And don't worry, if I don't end up keeping the Watchdives it will go to my son's growing collection. Thanks for reading!
I have been collecting my whole life, this is my second collection first one got stolen in 2018. It’s take me about eight years to get back in the hobby.
Please tell me what I’m doing wrong

I had pre-ordered this same watch in green and gold off the Timex site. 1983 is my birth year, and my folks definitely owned watches that looked like it.
But the size of it had me concerned, so when I saw this version was on sale on Amazon, I decided to order it just to try out.
My first instinct upon opening the box was that it's laughably small, and looks like a toy. Once I set it and put it on, that melted away, and I'm kinda digging the vibe of it. It's still smaller than I ever imagined going, but I find square watches wear a bit bigger.
I just canceled the pre-order for the green and gold, because I wouldn't pay $300+ for this watch, but for the sale price I might keep this version. Still trying to decide.
Purchased after extended search for a chic and affordable beach watch. Big deal pulling the trigger on something online for me.
Went black on black with rubber tropic strap. The white faced colorway is *very* cool but Im already white enough. Thin wrist, 37mm, but perhaps should’ve went 39. Return policy is moot as soon as plastic comes off. I like the leather watch roll it came with. Shipped very quickly.
*** to my surprise: frequently illegible! When the reflective hands are not catching direct light, they can disappear.
Still getting used to it on my wrist, can’t tell yet if the octopus emblem on caseback is abrasive or if I’m wearing a bit too tight.
For 300$ it’s not bad! and aesthetically i like what DH 1975 is doing a lot. Personally I’ll probably be a bit more picky in the future on inspection before taking off plastic to feel more in control of the process.
Only Con- sometimes I have to check twice if I am actually wearing it, it's so light.(20gm)
